Lake Forest Academy offers many athletic opportunities, ranging from varsity athletics to PE options. The essence of our program is the promotion of sportsmanship. We strive to find success, measured not only in victories, but also in the individual development of each athlete.

Athletics Requirements: • All students—at least one interscholastic team sport per year. • Freshmen and sophomores—all three seasons, either an interscholastic sport or a PE option. • Juniors and seniors—participation in two seasons are required.

LFA Sports by Season: Fall Interscholastic: boys cross country, girls cross country, girls field hockey, golf (co-ed), boys prep hockey, boys soccer, girls swimming, girls tennis, girls volleyball PE Options: fall play, strength + fitness, yoga, Zumba®

Winter Interscholastic: boys basketball, girls basketball, boys hockey, girls hockey, boys prep hockey, squash (co-ed), boys swimming PE Options: jiu-jitsu, strength + fitness, winter musical, yoga, Zumba®

Spring Interscholastic: girls badminton, baseball, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, girls soccer, softball, boys tennis, track and field (co-ed), boys volleyball PE Options: cycling, strength + fitness, yoga, Zumba®


LFA students play athletic games on 158,400 square feet of turf fields during the fall and spring. In addition to the numerous soccer, field hockey, and baseball fields, students have access to LFA’s modern athletics facilities, like the Crown and Fitness Wellness Center, MacKenzie Ice Arena, and the Glore Gym, to practice with teammates and work with LFA’s own athletic trainers.

Playing at the Collegiate Level Every year, LFA graduates go on to play sports at Division I, Division II and Division III colleges.
