April 2018 News, events and support opportunities for trans people, including non-binary people, across Scotland Welcome to April’s T Monthly, full to the brim with new events and dates for your diary. I’m writing this just ahead of the very first Trans Pride Scotland this weekend, so we’re looking forward to seeing lots of support, celebration and encouragement as we proudly march together through Edinburgh’s city centre. I am also wishing all the community groups who are running workshops at the after-march gathering, all the very best for some great engagement.

Improving inclusion for LGBTQ+ D/deaf people LGBT Health aims to create inclusive, accessible events and services for all LGBTQ+ people to participate in and enjoy. In reality, we understand that for some, including D/deaf people, there are still barriers making participation in community activities, difficult or even impossible. In our commitment to finding out what these barriers are and how we can learn to address them, we were delighted to work with queer and deaf community activist, Leah Kalaitzi, to host a supportive discussion event for D/deaf LGBTQ+ people, to ask about their views and experiences. Read all about the comments, contributions and suggestions made by people at the event, in our D/deaf and LGBTQ+ Event Report. Enjoy the emergence of springtime (finally!), Jules If you’d like to promote your own activities, group or events for trans, including non-binary people through T Monthly, you can contact me via jules@lgbthealth.org.uk or by calling 0131 523 1104, I’ll be happy to help - The submission deadline for the next edition is 23rd March.
