T Monthly June 2016

June 2016 News, events and support opportunities for transgender people across Scotland. Welcome to the June edition folks, our monthly mixture of updates and suggestions to keep you connected with community goings-on. Last month we said goodbye to the LGBT Swimming sessions, but hopefully only for a short while. They were an absolute joy to organise and I’m grateful for all the swimmers, splashers, bobbers, loungers and duck appreciators, who made the session’s fun, inclusive, safe and life-changing for some. Look out for details of Pride Breakfast below and the LGBT Summer Fete in coming bulletins. Pride Breakfast gives you the chance to feel involved and included in the annual celebrations, and at T time Edinburgh this month we’ll be getting ready to ensure trans and nonbinary people are well represented on the march! Both the fete and breakfast event are also a great opportunity for performers to showcase their talent to a friendly supportive audience, so if you’ve got talent to share - give me a bell on 0131 523 1104! It’s a board-game session at T time Glasgow this weekend and Pride Crafts over in Edinburgh on the 18th June. T times are social spaces for all trans people and partners/supporters welcome. Next month we’ll be unveiling our new-look July-September programme, containing all the information on a wide range of LGBTQI events in Edinburgh and Glasgow! We hope you’re enjoying the sunshine and longer and lighter evenings and urge you to read on below and click on the links to give yourself even more to look forward to this month. Take care, Jules If you’d like to promote your own activities, group or events for trans people through T Monthly, you can contact me via jules@lgbthealth.org.uk or by calling 0131 523 1104, I’ll be happy to help.

Contact Annette with any enquiries about the event or to share your thoughts if you can't make it along at annette@lgbthealth.org.uk Fife LGBT Buddy Group for Pride Edinburgh Celebrate being LGBT by attending Edinburgh Pride on Saturday 2nd July. We would love to see Fife LGBT+ community and supporters join us at our annual Pride Breakfast www.bit.ly/Edinburgh_Pride_Breakfast or for the Pride Parade. Our idea is to help link up LGBT+ Fifers who don’t want to travel across to the city on their own or who want to join up with an even bigger group. We’ve created a Facebook Pride group. This group is meant to be a safe space for you to connect with others who would like to celebrate Pride. If you wish to, you could then organise amongst yourselves to buddy up and come together. Feel free to invite people you know who could benefit from this group, we would like for you to take ownership and create your own community. The group is set as 'closed' so people can only be invited or approved by members. What you post on the page will only be seen by members and approved by an administrator beforehand. Whilst those settings provide the group with a minimum of privacy and safety, please be cautious about what you post online. Offensive, threatening or personalised comments won't be tolerated.
