Langston Hughes Af-Am Film Fest LHPAC
The Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center and its Langston Hughes African American Film Festival (LHAAFF) presents films from independent Black filmmakers and films about experiences throughout the African Diaspora. In its 8th year, the annual festival values grassroots community civic engagement with panel discussions, readings, and audience ‘talk-backs’ with filmmakers, industry professionals and community leaders. The matinee screenings for middle/high school youth is an important education component. Our year-round Underground Railroad film series shows films about local, national and international Black civic involvement that stimulate discussions of community building around ethical, social, and cultural issues.
