Overview of SCRUM at L&H Companies: A product owner creates a prioritized wish list called a product backlog. Team consists of key individuals from various areas within L&H Companies such as Engineering, Project Management, Leadership, Fabrication, and Installation. During sprint planning, the L&H team identifies the project components breaking them down into prioritized sections to be completed, reviewed, adjusted, and implemented. The L&H team has a certain amount of time — a sprint — to complete its work, but it meets each day to assess its progress (Daily Stand-Up). During the sprint, the Scrum Master (head Project Manager) keeps the team focused on its goal. At the end of the sprint, the product will be ready to ship and install. The sprint ends with a sprint review and retrospective. As the next sprint begins, the team chooses another portion of the product backlog and begins working again.

Advancement of Technology Innovative Solutions and Techniques:
Two Innovative Sign Solutions for ASU Cutting-Edge System for Tower Health In the Red Zone Atlanta Braves Iconic 25 ft. Rotating “A Advanced New Products:
The Patient Care Sign Graviti - The Modular Sign System
Two Innovative Sign Solutions for ASU Arizona State University wanted a seamless weld not exposing any assembly hardware for some of their ID signs. L&H Companies had to come up with an innovative way to join two surfaces at 45° right angles to create a virtually seamless square weld. We came up with a method to weld the aluminum channels together that allowed for the structure underneath to maintain its integrity and engineering stamp, while appearing on the outside as a seamless finish.
A second challenge was to fabricate two identical panels that would line up perfectly creating a seamless view on the 30 ft. pylon sign. Using our Flow Mach Waterjet, we cut the detailed ASU pitchfork toppers which not only created a precise identical cut on both panels but saved time for the client due to it’s excellence in speed and accuracy. The Waterjet also took their branding element, the pitchfork, to another innovative level by highlighting it and creating an architectural feature embedded into the sign versus etching it plainly.
Cutting-Edge System for Tower Health Tower Health contracted L&H Companies for the complete exterior/interior signage and wayfinding package at their main hospital and offsite locations. For the directional signage portion, L&H Companies fabricated a new flush mount panel system. This system uses a specific milling and cutting method, uniquely designed by L&H Companies Engineering Team, allowing for the top panel to be fastened with two almost invisibly small screws at the bottom which hold the panel in place. We use this innovative method to mount the panel flush to face without using any adhesives or permanent connection devices so all mounting fasteners are hidden. The ingenuity about this system is it’s easily changeable and allows for the entire front panel to be removed and updated without difficulty to be repurposed for later use. Another significant feature is that updates can be easily changed without error. A traditional slat directory over time can get the typography wrong when updated several years later. Our new system has consistent typography because the entire panel is reprinted, ensuring a clean constant look. This product is limitless in design and can be created in almost any size to be used on a wall or ceiling directional sign. Designers, architects, and clients will have the ability to originate a sign system that is truly innovative.
In the Red Zone: Maintaining the vibrant color
of the Atlanta Falcons brand across their interior signage
The Atlanta Falcons had a very robust red and detailed pattern they wanted to remain consistent across every interior sign for the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Screen printing the signs would’ve left room for error in both color and pattern consistency. Using our advanced printing system, the EFI VUTEk GS3250LX Pro Led Printer, we were able to offer impeccable accuracy in both the color and design. The color–white-color printing process guarantees no saturation of color and cuts the production time in half, versus the traditional screen printing process. EFI is the leader in the printing industry offering maximum unique and flexible inks that maintain color precision. L&H Companies invested in this state-of-the-art printer to offer these modern capabilities to our clients to reduce cost and time in a project while maintaining impeccable brand accuracy at the same time.
Atlanta Braves Iconic 25 ft. Rotating “A” L&H Companies commitment to develop this innovative sign started with designing a 25 ft. 360° rotating “A” by finding a supplier with a data ring that could rotate completely. Full scale engineering drawings and 3D renderings were developed during the process to ensure of no fabrication issues or interferences such as weight, ease of assembly, and sheet yielding. Steel and aluminum frames were fabricated piece by piece enduring rigorous testing for safety and longevity.
With over 70,000 LED’s to create the LED display board and a live video feed, the signature “A” is sure to shine bright for many years to come. Our experienced installation team used a 300 ton crane with 367 ft. main boom and 150 ft. jib to install the sign in pieces on top of the stadium placing the “A” in it’s final home. View the “Heartbeat of the A” video to see live footage of it’s installation at http://bit.ly/SuntrustParkA.

Exterior Signage
When they did research for a placemaking and wayfinding project for the Philadelphia Zoo, Gecko Design Group staff found that the images of the zoo that people shared on social media contained photos of themselves with animals, but unlike other zoos, the images contained no zoo identification or branding. The goal of this project was to fix that. The monument was part of a large project to improve the Philadelphia Centennial District Transportation Center surrounding the zoo. A new parking garage, landscaping, street lights, sidewalks and wayfinding signage now welcomes visitors from outside the zoo. The monument was designed with a seating wall as a place where people could rest, or create their own photo memories.
