Easter = Bonnets

With Easter fast approaching you are probably already anticipating the usual letter from your child's school regarding this year’s Easter Bonnet parade. Whilst you always know roughly when it’s coming it somehow still manages to surprise you and send you into a panic of glitter glue and sticky back plastic.

Here is our simple guide to avoiding the panic and producing a winning Easter Bonnet.

1. Supplies, Supplies, Supplies The best way to ensure you’re prepared for bonnet building is to make sure you have enough supplies. Supplies can be sourced from around the home, for example toilet rolls, Easter related figurines, tin foil etc. Or craft supplies can be sourced from shops or websites. Things like crafting card, tissue paper, stickers etc. Our suggestion is the more you have the more options you have when constructing your design.

2. Pick a Theme Free and easy is one way to construct your child’s Easter bonnet but the other less stressful way to work out what you are going to do is to have a theme. Flowers, Animals, Eggs and an Easter Egg Hunt are just 4 of the possible themes you could go for. By starting with a theme and expanding your idea from there you should find the process and the creation of your bonnet much easier.

3. Get The Kids Involved At the end of the day the Easter Bonnet parade is all about having fun so why not get the kids involved? Not only is it a great creative exercise for them, but it is also a great opportunity for family time. I know to some the thought of glitter everywhere, glue, crafting card, stickers etc. makes them shudder in fear but if you do it at the table, or put down enough newspaper to stop any little bits escaping, you’ll be fine.

Easter is the 31st March this year, so get your thinking caps on and start gathering those supplies. If you need any supplies such as crafting card, stickers or paint, visit us today for a wide selection of materials and crafting ideas.
