Paris. the 21st century centre of modern art. paris was once the centre of modern art. from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century it was thriving with some of the greatest artists emerging from the paris scene or coming to work there. movements like impressionism, post-impressionism, fauvism, cubism and surrealism came from this era, great artists like Pablo Picasso, salvador dali, henri matisse, andre derain, paul gaugin and vincent van gogh shaped the movements and the arts world foverever. modern art was slowly driven out of paris from the second world war onwards, and new york became the new modern art centre. with artist influences and innovative design LGS Designs will unlock the first door to reclaiming the centre of modern art from paris.

The design depicts a highly innovative art instalment altering the landscape non-conventionally while complimenting the vernacular, interviening with the symmetry and dominance of the eiffel tower to allow a new focus. The space gives an emotional effect that amazes users from each area, with a positively correlating experience the closer you get to the centre of the site absorbing different experiences on the entire journey. 0 meters

FOR ART. FOR PARIS. The art instalment will last for one year celebrating all artists and art during the golden era in paris. the space around the eiffel tower will become surreal and vibrant, activating all areas for high pedestrian use with vast walkability possibilities. the structure implemented to hold the plants in place the appear un-natural to the urban dweller will totally invigorate and inspire the viewer. with a combination of modern construction techniques to provide quality sustainable landscapes. with metaphorical paint oozing around the size, they become the roots for the eiffel tower, the beacon of art boundaries, once a tower that was hated by a vast majority of people has become a fingertip on a cliff edge for the future of modern art in paris. the planting methods will be a cross between piet oudolf and patrick blanc, leading examples in planting styles techniques with various perrenials, flowers and grasses. the tartan material that presents itself as paint leaking from the eiffel tower is glow in the dark, creating a unique experience that would only be experienced around the eiffel tower. this material coats anything in its path, ignoring benches, bins and cafes, it will engulf the landscape creating exciting activities and picturesque sceneries. artists will be celebrated throughout the instalment, with screens along the river bank wall that are subtle in the day and noticeable from the opposite side of the river at night.
