After graduating from middle school, he went to Japan and took the entrance examination for the Tokyo School of the Ar ts. Later he enrolled in the Taiwan Provincial University of Education (now National Taiwan Normal University).

While Yang was in charge of artistic design for Harvest Magazine, he por trayed the simple and honest lives of people living in Taiwan’s traditional agricultural society. When Taiwan’s economy began to expand, he began to devote himself to landscape development for a number of public spaces, becoming a pioneer in public art in Taiwan. His use of stainless steel in his sculptures showed his respect for both nature and the ar ts, and many of his works have now become local landmarks. Over sixty years of a creation, Yang held dozens of exhibitions both at home and abroad. He was invited to hold exhibitions in London, Tokyo and other places, won countless amount of important awards. Yang is not only very well known internationally, but is also recognized as a leading senior artist in Taiwan.

his inspiration. Based on the basis of traditional Chinese ar t, he borrowed Western ideas and media to create a unique personal ar t style. Ho restored the original basic forms, learned the composition of the space from calligraphy, and combined all of this to his paintings, thus showing a unique constitutive space. When teaching at Jingmei Elementar y School, he contributed to the founding of the fir st ar t classroom in the whole countr y. He also ser ved as ar t instructor at Compulsor y Education Advisor y Group. Ho Kan is committed to ar ts education and promotes the development of ar t education in Taiwan.

Liao Shiou-Ping was born in 1936, in Taipei, Taiwan, and grew up in the neighborhood of Lungshan Temple in the Monga area of Taipei. After graduating from the Depar tment of Fine Ar ts at the Taiwan Provincial University of Education (now National Taiwan Normal University, NTNU), Liao decided to fur ther his studies and went to Japan and France. Eventually he studied intaglio in the famous Atelier 17 Printmaking Studio in Paris. During the period of studying abroad, Liao was aware of the impor tance of his own culture, and derived inspirations from familiar childhood scenes such as Lungshan Temple, Wanhua Market and all the festive celebrations and crowds of worshippers, and used various techniques to make prints. Later on, while staying in the United States, Liao learned a variety of brand-new print techniques, started his own studio, and earned numerous awards. However, at the time when serious politicaldiplomatic crises erupted in Taiwan, Liao chose to come back and taught printmaking courses in NTNU, as well as traveled around Taiwan giving lectures and hands-on demonstrations, helping to lay the foundations for the subsequent development of modern printmaking. Liao Shiou-Ping is now widely considered as Taiwan's “Father of Modern Print-Making”.
學（今國立台灣師範大學）美術系畢業後，廖修 平決定出國深造，留學日本國立東京教育大學與 法國國立巴黎美術學院，並在巴黎著名的「十七 工作室」學習金屬版畫技巧。在求學過程中意識 到自身文化的重要性，便從幼時熟悉的龍山寺、 萬華市場、大拜拜等民間場景擷取靈感，利用凹 凸平孔等各種方式創作版畫。移居美國時期廖修 平學會了各種嶄新的版畫技法、創立個人工作室， 獲獎無數。而他卻在台灣爆發政治外交危機之際， 選擇回台任教於師大美術系，並巡迴演講示範教 學，帶給台灣版畫教育觀念、資訊、技藝上莫大 的幫助，被譽為台灣現代版畫之父。
