LIAT SERVES AS HOST AIRLINE AND PLATINUM SPONSOR Organized in collaboration with IATA, ALTA & The Caribbean Development Bank, the Aviation Day Caribbean was held on 29 June 2018, in Barbados. The goal of the event was to bring together industry experts, senior airline and airport executives, and government authorities to discuss aviation’s largest opportunities and key challenges across the Caribbean region. "Aviation is essential to supporting tourism in the Caribbean region, transporting approximately 50% of all tourists who travel here. It also provides a vital lifeline when disaster strikes, as occurred during last autumn's devastating hurricane season," said Peter Cerda, IATA's Regional Vice President, The Americas. Delivering the keynote speech, Cerda noted that aviation supports over 1.6 million jobs and more than $35.9 billion in GDP, equivalent to 14% of the total Caribbean economy. The Aviation Day Caribbean heard opening remarks from the Minister of Tourism and International Transport of Barbados, Kerrie Symmonds and saw the discussion of several topics including ‘Recognizing Aviation as Economic Driver ’ and ‘Economic State of the Caribbean Airline Industry’. LIAT’s CEO Julie Reifer-Jones was one of the panelists on the Executive Panel: Challenges Facing the Caribbean Aviation Growth and Intra Connectivity. LIAT was the host airline and platinum sponsor for Aviation Day Caribbean. In addition the company had a display booth as well as raffled two tickets to participants at the event. LIAT HOSTS CARIBBEAN ATR OPERATORS CONFERENCE Operators of the ATR aircraft in the Caribbean joined LIAT in Antigua for the first ever Caribbean ATR Operators Conference at the Verandah Resort and Spa. The conference, which took place on June 14th and 15th was opened with a welcome cocktail. Addressing the cocktail, Chief Executive Officer of LIAT, Julie Reifer-Jones, noted that this was timely as operators would be able to share knowledge and experiences as they were operating the same type of aircraft . She acknowledged this new collaboration between operators especially in the region was important in light of the similar challenges being faced. The conference covered a wide array of topics including Engine Management Overhaul, Sharing Best Practices for Maintenance Planning Programs and Hotel Mode Operations. The conference was attended by participants from Bahamas Air, Caribbean Airlines, Air Caraibes, Air Antilles and LIAT as well as representatives from ATR, Pratt & Whitney and the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority. LIAT was the host airline and the overall conference was sponsored by ATR and Pratt and Whitney.

Dear LIAT In this issue we share some of the compliments from our passengers. Let us look at the role we each play in ensuring that LIAT is the airline of choice! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK!

Thank you. I would like to take a second to thank LIAT for your current good service. As someone who has had some negative experiences with LIAT in regards to on time and bag delivery, I found my recent trips with LIAT to have improved tremendously. Service has been good, staff has been helpful and I was on time for all 4 flights. So kudos to the team at LIAT and please keep it up. Simon Walsh

I would like to share with you a wonderful experience my son Cyril Moses, Jr. and I had while checking in at LIAT ‘s counter at the V.C Bird Airport in Antigua. We were traveling from Montserrat to St. Croix, via Antigua and San Juan on March 20, 2018. When we got to LIAT’s counter in Antigua we were greeted by three extremely pleasant employees: Mr. Lawrence, Ms. Hall and Ms. Davoren. Mr. Lawrence asked me what is our seating preference. I was so surprised I did not know what to say. I can’t recall being asked such a question at an airline counter and with such positive and upbeat attitude by an airline agent before. Only question I can remember is in relation to one’s willingness to operate the exit. While at the counter I expressed my delight with the exceptional service we were experiencing. We see it fit to share our experience with you. Kindly convey our warmest greetings and encouragement to Mr. Lawrence, Ms. Hall and Ms. Davoren. LIAT’s investment in customer service training I must say is really paying off. I have been traveling LIAT for forty nine years. Actually since I was fifteen years old and that experience is the most pleasant, exceptional and positive one I have been able to relish. Could you kindly convey my appreciation to the fabulous three agents and share my email with them? They are three LIAT stars. Respectfully, Teresa Moses

Dear LIAT staff at Argyle Airport in St Vincent, Thank you so very much for your pleasant, welcoming and excellent service when I stopped there on my way back to Trinidad. From being met and escorted through security screening to the waiting area as I transferred from LI 371 to LI 771, the experience was a “brand new LIAT”! Realizing that I was the only passenger transferring to that flight, and concerned about ensuring that my bag was transferred, I went to the desk in the departure hall and asked if there was a way to make sure the bag was transferred. The staff at the desk immediately sprang into action and I could see from my vantage point as enquires were made of the baggage staff. Feedback was provided by all 3 of the staff who were at the desk when I made my enquiry - to assure me that my bag was indeed transferred. Great job - thanks so much to you all! My blue bag arrived safely in Trinidad - and I’m spreading the word about great LIAT service. A grateful customer, Valerie Wilson

After travelling all day, from getting up at 5:45 a.m., and arriving at the LIAT Barbados terminal some 12 hours later, it is very comforting to be met by someone like Rico Smith, with his all so pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable attitude and skills. (I was on the 769 to St. Vincent.) Patrick Ferrari

LIAT ROAD SHOW VISITS TRINIDAD The LIAT Commercial Team was in Trinidad for a three day road show in June. The LIAT Road Show was aimed at sensitizing the Trinidad market about LIAT and its destinations as well as promoting the new flight services from the Piarco International Airport. The Road Show took place on June 7th to 9th with the team having booths at Movie Towne Port of Spain, Price Club in Chaguanas and C3 Center in San Fernanado. In addition to flight and cargo information, LIAT also teamed up with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority to promote Antigua as a destination as well as Antigua Carnival 2018.

Staff in Barbados were given the opportunity to meet with the Management Team when the second LIAT Town Hall was held on Wednesday 27th June at the Grantley Adams International Airport. Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Julie Reifer-Jones gave an overview of where the company was and its direction and then fielded questions from staff who attended. Several issues were discussed and the CEO and team committed themselves to addressing these staff concerns. The next LIAT town Halls are slated for October 2018.
