Council to Decide Whether Central Will Oppose Loop
CENTRAL — The Central City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Kristenwood to consider a resolution by Councilman Wayne Messina on whether the City of Central should officially oppose the Baton Rouge Loop. Messina is hoping at least two other Councilmen will join with him to give direction to the Central legislative delegation on the issue.

CENTRAL — The 2011 Central High Wildcat football team has won three of the top honors in the annual All-District competition. Central senior linebacker Zach Hetrick was named the district’s Most Valuable Player on defense. Sophomore Gary Triplett walked away with more honors that any other player in the district. Triplett
was named 1st team All-District wide receiver, 1st team All-District Return Specialist, and Best All Around Athlete in the district. Central head coach Doug Dotson was named Coach of the Year. Besides Hetrick and Triplett, other 1st team All-District selections were Central defensive end Joey Jarreau and defensive secondary Logan Metcalfe.
