Liberty’s residence halls are cozy and ready for you to move in! Be sure to check with your roommates to coordinate stocking up on additional necessities. We ask that university furniture remain in your room and that you only use push pins or tacks to attach posters, pictures, etc. to dry wall, not cinder blocks. Any use of tape or adhesive putty is at your own risk, as you will be held responsible for any damage. 4

UNIVERSITY SUPPLIED ITEMS Every room contains one bed, dresser, desk, and chair per student. Three-person rooms contain one set of bunk beds and a bed that has been lofted by the university. Rooms at East Campus and the Liberty Residential Annex have private bathrooms – shower curtains provided.

INSTITUTIONAL LIABILITY The university will not be responsible for damage to, or loss of, personal belongings which are a result of fire, wind, water, insects, rodents, vandalism, or theft. However, when damage or loss is reported, the university will take reasonable steps to attempt to resolve the problem. Students residing in the residence halls are responsible to ensure their personal belongings are covered by their parents’ homeowner’s policy or a renter’s insurance policy.

If you have completed Financial CheckIn and know your room assignment, please go directly to your assigned residence hall. You will receive your key from the resident assistant during check-in times. On Thursday, housing personnel will be available on the second floor of Arthur S. DeMoss Hall in the Integrated Learning Resource Center (ILRC) to assist students who do not have a housing assignment or are unsure of their assignment. Verify your assignment information on ASIST. Please Note: No early arrivals are allowed except for specific groups that have been pre-approved. If you have questions, contact the Office of Student Housing at (434) 592-4139 or housing@liberty.edu.

computer assessment Every Liberty student must complete a technology competency requirement. There are two ways to do this. Pass the Computer Assessment and Information Literacy Assessment your first semester at Liberty

o There is a one-time, $55 fee for the Computer Assessment o The Information Literacy Assessment will be available on Blackboard o The passing score is 70 percent for both assessments

Complete Information Technology (INFT) 110 during your first 45-hours at Liberty or first year if a transfer student

Transfer students who have transferred in a course substituted for INFT 110 have satisfied the technology competency and information literacy requirement and do not need to take further steps. Liberty offers a state-of-the-art computer technology center which, in conjunction with the library, is known as the Integrated Learning Resource Center (ILRC). The library, which houses almost 200,000 volumes, services students in all areas of research and project planning. Computers are loaded with Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Visual Studio, QuarkXpress, Mathematica, and SPSS. Specialty labs include MIDI, Language, and Macintosh. In addition, student residences are equipped with filtered high-speed Internet. The library also has a wide variety of online resources, including more than 60,000 online full-text journals, 72,000 e-books, and 250 research databases.
