Our Mission

The Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) exists to educate osteopathic physicians in a Christian environment.

LUCOM prepares physicians who dedicate themselves to excellence in osteopathic medicine through service toward their fellow man, lifelong learning, and the advancement of medical knowledge. Instilling the Christian values of integrity and professionalism, LUCOM trains physicians who will provide ethical, compassionate, competent, and patient-centered osteopathic medical care.

LUCOM faculty guide students and demonstrate daily holistic patient-centered care. Becoming a doctor is a great honor — I credit the faculty at LUCOM for providing the character development needed for me to truly care for my patients.

Located on the Liberty University campus in Lynchburg, Va., our facility consists of 140,000 square feet across four floors and provides a modern learning environment with the following tools:

• A fully equipped and technologically advanced Center for Research

• A state-of-the-art Center for Standardized Patients and Simulation

• An interactive electronic and in-person medical library

• Extensive Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), Patient-Centered Medicine, and Anatomy Labs

LUCOM is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA). Liberty University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
