What’s Your Calling?

At the John W. Rawlings School of Divinity, every degree program includes courses in Scripture, theology, and ministry; each academic department also uniquely prepares you for the ministry God has called you to.

In the Department of Biblical Studies, you’ll examine Scripture, learn to clearly explain essential Christian truths, and explore church history while preparing for a career in ministry or missions. Choose a concentration like biblical languages and continue your education with a master’s or doctoral degree.

The Department of Christian Leadership & Church Ministries (CLCM) prepares you to minister in the local church or at a nonprofit with our action-oriented curriculum. We have specializations in youth ministries, women’s leadership, pastoral leadership, and camp ministry, or you can focus on worship and leadership to effectively serve your local church or ministry. In the Department of Global Studies, you’ll learn to communicate with people from various cultures and experience the unique dynamics of living and working overseas. Prepare for a career in ministry at international locations or for intercultural ministry in the United States. Choose from diverse minors and learn practical skills that open doors in local communities or global cities.

What’s Your Calling?

Get the academic and practical training you need to think critically about Christian doctrine in the Department of Theological Studies. You’ll gain the skills to become a minister, Christian educator, or author. You will also be prepared academically to pursue your graduate degree in biblical studies, theology, or apologetics. Travel with a team that ministers to youth through discipleship, creative arts, and worship in churches up and down the East Coast.

Travel to Biblical Sites

Get course credit by experiencing places like Greece, Turkey, and Israel with School of Divinity faculty.

City Reach is a collaborative effort to bring together pastors, ministries, church members, students, and community leaders under the banner of our Lord Jesus Christ. This ministry serves the Lynchburg area in tangible ways to effectively show and share the good news of the Gospel in our region.

Resident Shepherd Community Group Leader

Get involved by becoming a Resident Shepherd. These are students who create a sense of home on the resident halls by serving other students and nurturing spiritual growth and maturity.

The Community Group Leader (CGL) ministry provides both residential and commuter students with an opportunity to serve across Liberty University as small group spiritual leaders.

Designated Ministry Experience

Gain over 200 hours of experience through small group leadership, outreach, preaching, and serving in a ministry setting.

Ministry Experience

Spend your senior year working at an approved host church or parachurch ministry while completing your final classes online. You must be enrolled in a CLCM degree program.
