THE LIBERTY EXPERIENCE
GAME DAY
Liberty’s student fan base makes Club Sports games some of the highest-attended sporting events on campus. Midnight games for men’s lacrosse and men’s volleyball draw thousands of fans, and men’s hockey is the second-most attended sport on campus after NCAA football
TELEVISION COVERAGE
Home hockey games are broadcast on the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) and ESPN+. A majority of hockey, men’s lacrosse, and men’s volleyball games are streamed online — including all home games.
THIS IS YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE. WHAT DO YOU WANT IT TO BE?
Our student-athlete scene sets Liberty apart .
“Liberty Club Sports has provided me with the ability and opportunity to pursue the fulfillment of my athletic potential. The facilities and resources allow me to get the most out of my time at Liberty. I know this is where God wants me to be.”
Sam Feamster ’26 | Men’s DI Hockey
With generous university support, Liberty student-athletes receive top-of-the-line gear, including uniforms, equipment, apparel, backpacks, and other Liberty-branded items.
“Volleyball means a lot to me. It is a sport that has grown me spiritually, physically, and relationally. I truly believe that the three-hour practices I spent in my high school days and the hard practice weeks during my college season have made me talk more to others, learn to keep the peace, control my emotions, and to work through tough situations. Most of all, I have learned how necessary it is to lift up and lead your teammates. If you know anything about volleyball, you know you cannot play it alone.”
Josh Culpepper ’26 | Men’s Volleyball
Liberty University has expanded its Club Sports to 40+ teams and continues to grow with more students involved than ever before .

“Coming in as a freshman last year, there were a lot of new challenges for me to conquer at Liberty. Without being on the disc golf team, I don’t know how I would have been able to persevere through the challenges that were in front of me. The disc golf team at Liberty is more than just a Club Sport; it feels like a family, and it’s one of the most supportive groups I’ve ever been a part of. The people around me have pushed me to be better both physically and spiritually. Without the disc golf team, I wouldn’t be where I am at Liberty, and being a part of the team has helped form who I am today.”

NOT YOUR AVERAGE HISTORY
Modeled after an NCAA Division I athletic program, Liberty Club Sports has experienced enormous growth in a short span, due in large part to direct support and financial investment from the university.
Liberty’s Club Sports program began unofficially in 1985 with a collection of student-led teams that continued competing sporadically until 2008. The Club Sports department was officially recognized by Liberty University in 2008 and has grown to its current status as one of the top programs in the country.
In recent years, the department renovated the ice rink and added a training complex, a lacrosse complex, an equestrian center, beach volleyball courts, and disc golf courses to Liberty’s campus. The Club Sports program has blossomed from five teams with 82 student-athletes in 2008 to 40+ teams with more than 700 student-athletes in 2024.
