Volunteering I had joined a lot of volunteering programs (spring volunteering, supporting university entrance exam) despite my busy studies and researches. Why do I do that? I think the responsibility of a student is not only to study to improve their knownledge but also to do something else for the society to improve their morality. Through each volunteering activity, I can practices my soft skills and feel that I had done something to make my country more beautiful with lots of bright smile.

SKILLS The Student Support Office, my family at UAH, one of my proudest things, where I will always watch over and available to support them.

In 2010, I joined Students Support Office to improve myself...
... to experience the dynamic and creative spirit...
The office was fun but it seemed that the members were still not connected to the others and took charge with high responsibility and enthusiasm for the common goal.
I was trusted and promoted to be a member of the Student Support Office board.
The numbers of office members participating the activities were not stable. Sometimes, there were just a few members joining in.
BEING HEAD OF THE STUDENT SUPPORT OFFICE, WHAT SHOULD I DO? PROPOSE AND MAKE CHANGES
Broadcasted the image of the Student Support Office: - Defined clearly its objectives & activities - Decided to organize “Welcome Freshmen� of the office at the earliest time comparing to the other clubs in the university to attract talented and enthusiastic members.
Attracted enthusiastic talents, brought pride to the one who become a member of the office by organizing member recruitment interviews, grading and informing all candidates about what are the activities of the office as well as what they can learn there.
The team of the Student Support Office today... Is a respectable and proud team! Is an indispensable club of the Student Organization! Is the reliable friend of all UAH students whenere they are in difficulties!!

Then, the day I waited for came. The new board of the Student Support Office were recruited, wearing the blue shirts of enthusiasm, confidence and solidarity to accomplish the common goals.

IDEA The site
The two main function blocks like two waves
Increasing other blocks
The main purpose of the building is to develop Vietnam’s Sciences and Technologies about Sea and Islands, increase the marine economy and affirm the territorial sovereignty. The main idea, “Enter the Ocean”, is shown by waves running to the East sea. Illiminate solar effect: 1. Layout blocks on the site. 2. Create an angle 730 for researching block. 3. Use smart vertical sunshade.

First and second floor of the building are used for activity that fit to the Ocean park such as: Exhibition, conference, service, interaction. A way connecting the building and Ocean park is place at the firs floor.
The long exhibition’s proces is finished at the basement, where have a slaping grass roof, which leading to the first floor.

LANDSCAPE The landscape was designed from make a walkway around the building. The space on 2 side of this walkway change with many feature: space for sitting down beside the lake, a brigde passthrough the lake, the slape roof with green grass, small park, ... The 3 main materials are: beton, rock and wood. Because of the position of this building is next to the sea with salty air so I use all plans that can live in this environment.

HIGHRISE BUILDING Type: Office building combined conference and exhibition center Place: Tran Hung Dao square, District 1 , Ho Chi Minh city Area: 7323m2. Stories: 25 Building density: <65%

Position The building is placed at the CBD (Center Business District) at Tran Hung Dao square, it is very close to most of the important places in Ho Chi Minh city.
Status quo The design area is now low-rise building between an area crownded with lots of high density of high-rise building

Idea
The building is rotated to reduce the effects from the sun and wind.
All mobile transport system are placed behind the building.
The area in front of the building is green space for pedestrians.
A walking road is placed through the building for easily connecting different functional areas.
An outdoor stage is placed in the second floor to attract peopleâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s attention to the building.
The building is design to ensure getting the best view of the surrounding design area.

C U LT U R A L C E N T E R Type: Cultural and artistic center Place: The Crescent area, Tan Phu ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh city Area: 1,25 ha. Stories: 5 Building density: < 35%

Position The area is placed in the cultural center of district 7, it is very closed to the biggest Exhibition & Convention Center of Ho Chi Minh City - SECC and the complex commercial & service area - The Crescent.
Status quo The designed area is still a small park

Idea
The Conference hall is placed at the right corner of the area, behind a green square which creates a green open space in front of the building, hence, attracts the attention of passers.
The small square and the big square have a connection through the building to become a bigger square.

COLLEGE Type: College of Kindergarten Pedagogy Place: The University village of Ho Chi Minh city, Di An dist., Binh Duong city Number of students: 1,500 Area: 5.9 ha. Stories: 5 Building density: < 25%

Position The design area is located at the University village of Ho Chi Minh city. It is easily to come here from the center of Ho Chi Minh city.
Status quo The design area is still now a wasteland with a lot of beauty rock lake.

Idea
The building orients to the direction of the East- West to minimize intens heat from the East and West.
Make a line of lanscape to take advantage of the wind direction for the study block and to open the view to the lake.
The main entrance is pushed inward integrated with a reaching out canopy. Both of them create the attractiveness for the building.
Overall perspective

A concentrated area is placed in the middle and put far away from the road. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s the community place for students with an outdoor stage.

R E N OVAT I O N MARKET Request: Choose an old market in the center of Ho Chi Minh city caused many problems of the center of city. Place: Thai Binh market at Pham Ngu Lao St., District 1.

Position The 23/9 park links Thai Binh market and the symbolizing market of Ho Chi Minh city - Ben Thanh Market. This is a crowded place with lots of foreigners in Ho Chi Minh city.
Status quo The parking area of the market creates so many traffic problems. At night, the market is closed, there is no activity here. In addtition, there is not enough space for community activities.

Idea The main idea is making a new market that can utilize the whole day for trading instead of just half a day. In the daytime, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a green market. At night, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a park!

Night
At night, the modules of shops/stores are plunged into the ground and become the seating place for social activites. All mobile umbrellas of different heights are moved to the center place and are equipped with lights. The market becomes a special park with many luminated umbrella trees. In the daytime, everything returns to their places and play the role of preventing the trading stores from sun and rain effect.

1. Ho Chi Minh architectural situation is extremely chaotic with building rising continuously but having no control from any authoritative organizations. This results in the existence of various architecture styles and facades which have no identification characteristic and have nothing in common. 2. The weak infrastructure and difficult low-income life make the repair and replacement process of the buildings get many challenges. 3. The number of immigrants into city has been increasing while the source of land has relatively continued to decrease.

Making use of “empty spaces” which are not exploited in the front of building in order to create useful spaces served human’s demands. These spaces are formed by modules used for various purposes of each individual, which is easy to be dismantled or assembled. Circulation of the system is organized horizontally and vertically downward.
NEW LIFE Architecture not only bring better spiritual value and living space but also giving more economic benefit, solve some part of urban problems, this is demand of living space community urban appearance. NEW APPREARANCE Creating an identified feature for the street. Making more green spaces in order to serve entertaining and “breathing” demands of citizens.
