The main objective of this project is to explore the uncanny sensation that is experienced by modern man through his contact with the landscape. Where does this sensation come from? Is it associated with esoteric psychological processes or can it be the result of the objective properties of space? The matter is put for meditation on the basis of pragmatological data offered by the study of the Vouliagmeni lake, the empirical observation of which constitutes the starting point of the research. Out of the empirical registering are born theoretical and methodological issues that are attempted to be answered by designating the problem through a series of notional and spatial bipolar opposites. These opposites are not merely opposed as a theory of general application, but as a mode of approaching the aforementioned questions in relation to the nature of the uncanny in the case at issue.
