After graduating, Hach worked for the New York Times Denver Bureau and as an editor at Sports and Fitness Publishing in Boulder, Colo. She was a member of Denver’s Comedy Sports improvisational comedy troupe. After winning the Walt Disney Screenwriting Fellowship in 1999, Hach was assigned to write the film Freaky Friday. Along with Mary Rodgers, she wrote the

young adult novel Freaky Monday, which she adapted for the screen. Hach is currently working on a film adaptation of What to Expect When You’re Expecting and also a television pilot for ABC. Making his Broadway debut with Legally Blonde The Musical, O’Keefe is a composer, lyricist, pianist and writer. Awards: 2007 Tony Award nomination, two Drama Desk Award nominations for the music and lyrics of Legally Blonde The Musical, 2004 Ed Kleban Award for lyrics, 2001 ASCAP Richard Rodgers New Horizons Award and a 2001 Jonathan Larson Award for music and lyrics. N.Y. credits: Bat Boy: The Musical (2001 Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics’ Circle Awards for best off-Broadway musical, has been produced in Boston, Tokyo, Seoul and the West End, among others). He co-wrote book, music and lyrics with Nell Benjamin for Cam Jansen and the Curse of the Emerald Elephant (Drama Desk nomination for best book, and the music for Sarah, Plain and Tall, which now tours the country for Theatre Works USA. In 2003, O’Keefe, Benjamin and book writer Julia Jordon expanded Sarah into a full-length show at the O’Neill Festival. O’Keefe composed The Mice, which was produced by Harold Prince at The Prince Music Theater and at the Ahmanson. NELL BENJAMIN (Lyrics and Music) earned a 2007 Tony Award nomination and two Drama Desk Award nominations for the music and lyrics of Legally Blonde The Musical, which is her Broadway debut. Benjamin was nominated for a 2005 Drama Desk Award for best book of a musical for Cam Jansen and the Curse of the Emerald Elephant. She is also the recipient of the 2003 Kleban Foundation Award for lyrics and a 2003 Jonathan Larson Foundation Grant. Benjamin has written musicals, online games, television shows and a corporate bond-trading manual. Jerry Mitchell (Director, Choreographer) is currently making his West End debut as director of Legally Blonde The Musical for which he served as choreographer there and on Broadway. He was nominated for both the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his choreography, and the Drama Desk Award for his Broadway direction. He also choreographed the current West End production of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to his Phantom of the Opera, titled Love Never Dies, heading for Broadway next year. Mitchell received Broadway’s Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics’ Circle Awards for his dazzling choreography created for the 2005 Tony Award-winning best revival of La Cage Aux Folles, and was also nominated for the Tony Award in the same category for the smash hit musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Previously, Mitchell received Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Astaire Award nominations for
choreographing Hairspray and Tony, Drama Desk and Astaire Award nominations for choreographing The Full Monty, both shows having been directed by his cherished collaborator, Jack O’Brien. Emmy-nominated for choreographing The Drew Carey Show, his memorable film work includes In and Out, Camp, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Scent of a Woman. For Broadway, Mitchell also choreographed the hit revival of Gypsy, starring Bernadette Peters, as well as Never Gonna Dance, the first and only Broadway musical based on an Astaire/Rogers film. Prior to those productions, Mitchell choreographed the Broadway revivals of The Rocky Horror Show (Drama Desk nomination) You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Hedwig and the Angry Inch (on stage and film), the national tour of Jekyll & Hyde, and Paper Mill Playhouse’s critically acclaimed Follies, featuring Ann Miller. Mitchell proudly conceives, directs and choreographs Broadway Bares, an annual comedy burlesque show for the charity, Broadway Cares. Most recently, he choreographed a new Broadway-bound musical based on the film, Catch Me if You Can (again with Jack O’Brien as director) and directed and choreographed Peepshow, a Las Vegas extravaganza production show. Future projects include musicals based on the films, Kinky Boots, Queen of the Stardust Ballroom and Mad Hot Ballroom, all of which he will direct and choreograph. Marc Bruni (Direction Re-created) returns to Legally Blonde The Musical! after acting as associate director for the N.Y., U.S. tour and London productions as well as on MTV’s Search for Elle Woods. He recently directed Fanny for City Center Encores! and Ordinary Days for the Roundabout Underground. St. Louis MUNY: The Music Man (Kevin Kline Award nomination), Sound of Music, My One and Only and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Howey and the late Larry Shue were subjects of the play Wenceslas Square written by Shue, directed by Jerry Zaks and produced at The New York Shakespeare Theater. Together with Kenneth Gentry and Dallett Norris, Howey founded Troika Entertainment. He is happily married to actressturned-real estate agent, Mary Ellen Nester, is the father of two grown kids “in the biz” (Jennifer and Christopher) and soon-to-graduate high-schooler Florin–all of whom remind him daily that life and the theatre are as good as it gets. RANDALL A. BUCK (Chief Operating Officer) has produced more than 50 productions as Troika Entertainment’s chief operating officer all over the world. Before rejoining Dr. Howey at Troika in 1999, Buck was vice president and general manager for Livent in Toronto. While working for Livent, Buck managed productions such as Fosse, Ragtime, Show Boat, Music of the Night and Kiss of the Spider Woman. He was a stage manager for more than 20 years, opening the Phantom of the Opera Music Box tour and Show Boat on Broadway. Since beginning as an apprentice with The Kenley Players in the late 1960s, Buck has had the privilege of working with directors such as Hal Prince, Joe Layton and Josh Logan and hundreds of stars. Buck had the privilege of recently serving on the board for the National Alliance of Music Theater. He is currently living happily-ever-after in southern Maryland with his wife Angela and their daughter Sierra Ashley Buck. Donald Kindl (Chief Financial Officer) graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1982 and a master’s degree in business administration in 1988. He began his career with Combustion Engineering in Windsor, Conn. in 1982, and moved to Maryland in 1992 to assume the position of comptroller for various theatrical productions in association with Mr. Howey. In his current position, he oversees the daily operations of all aspects of management information systems, finance and accounting. Kindl and his lovely wife Cindy are the proud parents of three wonderful children, Stephen, Stacey and Scott. JENNIFER HOWEY (Chief Strategy Officer) is proud to be working in the family biz beside her father Nicholas and brother Christopher. A graduate of Madonna University in Livonia, Mich., Howey attended graduate school at The University of Detroit-Mercy and studied advertising and marketing at Oxford University. As a press representative, Howey has worked with Michael Bolton, Barry Williams, Patrick Cassidy and Gladys Knight to name just a few.
