worked extensively in the theatre, film, television and music industries. She worked as a stage manager for the Haymarket Theatre in Leicester, the Old Vic Theatre, London and on the original production of Cats for Cameron Mackintosh and the Really Useful Theatre Company. In 1984, Judy became the managing director of Three Knights Ltd, formed by Benny Andersson, Tim Rice and Björn Ulvaeus and was the Executive Producer for the West End production of Chess at the Prince Edward Theatre. In 1987, Judy decided to pursue a career in film and television where she produced and developed television drama and comedy. The idea of Mamma Mia! was originated by Judy who in 1996 formed Littlestar Services Limited with Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Richard East, to produce the stage musical. She is the Producer of Mamma Mia! and has produced 25 productions around the world. In 2002, Judy was presented with a Woman of the Year Award in recognition for her international success with Mamma Mia! The same year the show was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical. In the Queen’s birthday honours list of 2007, she was honoured with an MBE for her contribution to the music industry. Judy produced Mamma Mia! the Movie, starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, which became the highest grossing musical film worldwide. In 2008 Judy was honoured with the Women in Film ITV Achievement of the Year Award. Mamma Mia! the Movie was also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy, a BAFTA for Outstanding British film and Judy was personally nominated by BAFTA for the Carl Foreman Award for Special Achievement. Judy is producing Viva Forever, a musical based on the songs of the Spice Girls. RICHARD EAST (Producer). Born in Australia. A Fine Art graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, Australia in 1977, Richard has worked in the entertainment industry for 24 years in Australia, London and the U.S. in various capacities including promoter, producer and artist manager. He is a peer of the Australia Council. Richard has been involved in Mamma Mia! from its inception. BJÖRN KRISTIAN ULVAEUS (Music & Lyrics) was born in Gothenburg, April 25, 1945. Member of Hootenanny Singers, one of Sweden’s most popular groups of the Sixties. Met Benny Andersson, member of The Hep Stars, in 1966. In 1970 the pair started releasing records as a duo and also staged a cabaret show together with
WHO’S WHO in the CAST their fiancées, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Björn and Agnetha were married July 6, 1971. Björn and Benny collaborated on the musical Chess with lyricist Tim Rice in 1983, opening in May of 1986 in London’s West End, on Broadway in 1988, and a reworked version in Stockholm in 2002. Wrote Kristina From Duvemåla, opening in October 1995 and ran for three years. Involved heavily in the staging of Mamma Mia!.

During this time, he began composing music. 1972 –82 ABBA. 1982–84 Composed Chess (with Björn Ulvaeus). 1987 with Orsa Spelmän, recorded three albums deeply rooted in Swedish folk music. 2001, formed Benny Anderson’s Orchestra, resulting in three albums and several summer tours. 1990–95 Composed the music to Kristina from Duvemåla. 1995 Received the title of professor from the Swedish government. 2007 Inducted to in the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.
