“What if you don’t need a passport to go see the world?” We have the luxury to be in a country where cultures and diversity live among us. All it takes is to be open a little more, listen a little more, and welcome a little more. MOSAIC promotes and celebrates the diversity of our world in a myriad of aspects: diversity in cultures and backgrounds, diversity in the possibilities and diversity within our own selves. I hope our students, our staff and faculty, and our Nebraska community will take this precious chance to “see the world” together. And guess what? No passport needed.” – Thao Duong Education & Community Engagement Intern Class of 2021

MARTHA REDBONE, BONE HILL
PUBLIC PROGRAMS
Thursday, January 23, 2020, 7:30 pm | Kimball Hall Renowned blues and soul singer Martha Redbone — with her all- star band — explores her Appalachian family’s history in an epic that spans generations and music genres. Using her unique, award- winning blend of Native American elements and her deep roots in Appalachian folk and Piedmont blues, Redbone reveals a great untold American story. Bone Hill is an interdisciplinary theater work that brings to light an important piece of American mining history. The music is radically wideranging: from traditional Cherokee chants and lullabies to bluegrass to blues, gospel, jazz, Rock & Roll, R&B, and funk. The story is simply radical: uncompromising in its desire to be honest about uncomfortable subjects and especially the subject of race in America.
