Mid-Bay Shores Recreation Area Mid-Bay Shores is located next to the white, sandy shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay and offers easy access to Destin’s shopping, dining and family entertainment. The recreation area includes 19 full hook up RV sites, 7 water and electric sites, a sewage dump station, 24 rental bungalows, 5 mobile home rentals, boat storage, boat launch, fishing pier, laundry facilities, playground, showers, beach, swimming area and WiFi throughout the park.

Operation Policies • There is a $15 fee for all reservations cancelled within seven days from the scheduled check-in date. Cancellations within 48 hours of check-in will result in a non-refundable one night stay rent and cancellation fee. Please call 334-953-3509 opt. 1 for all changes, cancellations and refunds during their regular business hours. • Any patron paying the monthly rate who leaves earlier in the month will have their rate converted from monthly to either weekly or daily and will be issued a refund based on the difference. • Bungalows are operated in accordance with AFI 34-101. • Maximum 2 reservations per Military ID. • Seven person maximum occupancy in bungalows. Six person occupancy in mobile homes. • Must call Mid-Bay Shores for late check-in. • No cash refunds. Guest Information • Quiet times are 10pm-8am. • Wi-Fi is now available throughout the entire park. • Five mobile homes and bungalows 1-4 & 22-24 are pet friendly for an additional fee of $10 per day, per pet, with a limit of 2 pets. Pets are not permitted on the beach or in the water pursuant to county and Eglin AFB regulations. All other areas, pets must remain on leash. • No unlicensed vehicles are allowed, e.g. ATVs, golf carts, scooters, etc. • Ocean kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles are available for rent in season. • Extra parking available. The Maxwell-Gunter Mid-Bay Shores Recreation Area is approximately 3 1/2 hours from Montgomery. Take the Southern Bypass to Court St. Turn south onto U.S. Hwy. 331 and drive south to Florala, Alabama. Turn left on Main St. and go approximately two blocks and turn right onto Florida Hwy. 85 south. Stay on Hwy. 85 south through Crestview and on to Niceville. Where Hwy. 85 and Florida Hwy. 20 intersect, turn left onto Hwy. 20. Drive 6 miles and look for the brown service sign Maxwell-Gunter Recreation Area. Turn right, on to White Point Rd. Drive 1 mile and turn right at the "Maxwell-Gunter Recreation Area" sign. Drive approximately 1/2 mile, entrance will be on the left.
