thoughts 42FSS COMMANDER'S

Happy Spring Maxwell-Gunter! The base is showing signs of spring all around, and the Force Support Squadron is energized and ready to serve you and your families with great dining options on base. The Maxwell Club is now open for dine-in service in the lounge Tuesday-Friday evenings starting at 4 p.m. You’ll definitely want to try some of the specials available in the Lounge like the Mac Burger – a delicious burger topped with macaroni & cheese and applewood smoked bacon – and the new Chipotle Chicken Wrap. Our professional bartenders have missed seeing the “regulars” and are ready to meet new people on base. You can see Angie in action on Friday evenings at 5 p.m. on the 42 FSS Maxwell Club Facebook page as she demonstrates her skillsmaking popular drinks. For the nights you’d rather stay home, order one of the family meal specials available for pickup at the Club. Check out the menu on the Life at the Max website or app, and select from chicken fried steak, chicken piccata, catfish nuggets or flank steak. Dinners are available for one to four people, and orders can be placed starting at 2:30 p.m. Casual dine-in service is also available at Maxwell Bowling andGunter Lanes where you can enjoy pizza, wings, burgers and more. The bowling alley snack bars are open every day starting at 4 p.m. except on Sundays when they open at 3 p.m. Our friendly baristas have been working through the winter at Rickenbacker’s T&G and Hangar 42, and they welcome you back to dine-in for breakfast and lunch. There are some great new menu items at the coffee shops including a delicious honey almond latte. If you’re in a hurry, you can call in your order and have it waiting for you when you arrive. It’s no secret that the Two Putts Grill at the golf course has the best breakfast burrito on base. If you haven’t had one yet you’re missing out! The snack bar at the golf course is open for breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. Breakfast options include burritos, breakfast platters with egg, sausage, toast and grits, omelets and more. Try the hamburgers, chicken tenders, black bean burger or a salad for lunch. The dining room has a great view of the driving range, and you just might be inspired to hit a bucket of balls! We welcome everyone to our dining facilities where precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 are enforced. Patrons will be required to wear a mask and maintain appropriate distance while in the facility. - Maj Jenny Stewart www.LifeAtTheMax.us | 5
