thoughts 42FSS COMMANDER'S

Greetings from the 42d FSS! It’s PCS season, and we are seeing a lot of movement around Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex. As Commander of the 42d Force Support Squadron, I want to assure you that we are prepped and ready to serve our military members, dependents, retirees and civilian family with Airman and family support services, educational programs, dining options and recreation programs. One of the most important services offered through FSS is the UNITE program offering recreation and team building activities designed to build unit cohesiveness. Through the UNITE program, squadrons have access to a variety of sports, games, and outdoor activities that are perfect for enjoying fun leisure time with your unit. With new personnel arriving and familiar faces moving on to other adventures, these programs are the perfect way for Airmen to get to know and connect with one another. Some of the fun activities squadrons can participate in are fishing, ping pong, swimming, sports games virtual gaming, kayaking, and team building exercises. Consider taking a day trip with your unit to Lake Martin, play a round of golf or Fling Golf at the Cypress Trees

Golf Course or knock down pins at the Maxwell or Gunter Bowling Lanes, anytime! The bowling alleys offer great options for parties, official functions or meetings, too! These activities can be scheduled any day of the week to accommodate your unit. If you want to schedule your unit outing during lunch, we can include options from our restaurants. Each squadron has access to funding for UNITE program activities and can submit an event request to the UNITE Program Coordinator, Mrs. Jessica Hardnett for approval and scheduling. You can contact Mrs. Hardnett by email at jessica.hardnett.1@us.af.mil. UNITE programs benefit all Airmen in a unit including assigned Active Duty, Reserve, and APF/NAF Civilians. Family members may participate in a unit’s UNITE events, but they must pay any applicable fees. We invite you and your unit to check out our UNITE offerings and have some fun with us at Life at the Max.
