How to Use is Book

Welcome and thank you for joining us on a journey through the twenty-four chapters of the Gospel of Luke. Beginning on December 1, we will read a chapter a day from Luke that coincides with the chapter in Christmas Matters, taking us through the twenty-four days in December leading to Christmas. Together we will celebrate Jesus’s birth, life, death, and resurrection during this sacred season. We are so honored to celebrate the Messiah with you.

Time and again in the book of Luke we nd Jesus touching the lives of individuals in the most gracious of ways. Drawing people in with His lovingkindness, He then captured their hearts and called them to a more meaningful life. He didn’t heal them for healing alone. He didn’t change their perspective for peace alone. He didn’t forgive their sins for relief alone. Jesus intended so much more. He thought and acted beyond the moment of personal interaction. Once a person was touched by Him, He o en gave them a directive that involved “now go and do.” In today’s culture, this is known as a “call to action.” e profound impact of Jesus’s unconditional love and grace generated a desire not only to believe but also to go and live a purposeful life for Him.

Christmas Matters will bring inspiration and encouragement as you explore the stories of Jesus in Luke’s narrative, and it will also extend a personal invitation to take the truths discovered and apply them to your life. Our book is intended as a guide or supplement to Luke’s account of Jesus’s time on earth. It in no way covers every detail of the Gospel of Luke, but rather it
