(Image Credit: FightEmpire.com) Although an opinion, mixed martial arts (MMA) is undoubtedly one of the most "understated", yet, popular sports today. I’ve been a fan of this industry for a few years and have followed its progression from an underground, "invite only" sport to being the predominate storyline in movies (e.g. Never Back Down, Redbelt, etc.) and now mobile apps. For a community that’s still slightly niche and close knit, MMA’s venture and evolution into more mainstream platforms is a step in the right direction. knowledge and power of MMA delivered to your smartphone is a great, affordable way to continue the fight beyond the cage. “Most often, I’ve just utilized the YouTube app as that is where most of the technique-based videos are posted,” Andrew Schrage, co-owner of Money Crashers Personal Finance, said. But not every app or video will be the accurate. “However, it turned out that he was more of a “wanna-be” than anything else, and his videos lacked several key components of techniques," Schrage added. “It is that type of thing that consumers need to beware of before buying or even practicing the technique taught in some of the apps.” Although his experience wasn’t too positive, mobile apps can serve as a great compliment to your training and workouts. Especially if you’re traveling or can’t make it to the gym as often, the apps serve as an extension and remind you of moves to train until the next class.
