a huge honour, which has helped to establish our ‘brand’ and to bring wider recognition in the local community. The award has undoubtedly provided an invaluable business boost for us, and we are looking forward to seeing and meeting the companies on the roll of honour for 2008. The chamber also offers a warning to business — that they should report crime. The Federation of Small Business has reported that 20% of crimes are against business, but only one in eight are reported. The good news is that Haslemere has an excellent local police officer (see the News story on page 4). There are more celebrations in April with the lavish Luxury Living Show at De Vere Branksome Place on 19 and 20. That is one of the reasons why this month’s cover features Isabel Ballardie’s two principals, Isabel herself and Jane Munk, who both live in Haslemere, and are among the exhibitors at the show.
