u Josh Dunkley has been taken for granted this year, but he is finally being recognised following another dominant performance. He is one of only a few players to reach triple figures in every game

and the popular Dog did it last weekend with a season-high 138. As usual, he stuffed the stat sheet in a well-balanced performance which consisted of 28 possessions, seven marks and 10 tackles. He is averaging 120 and is again one of the best players in the competition, as he was last year before injury struck.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

u Dan Houston is getting it done! After opening the season with a huge 150, he had two disappointing outings. He pumped out his second triple-figure score in a row last weekend with 134, making the Power star one of the top-scoring defenders in the competition. Demons ball magnet Clayton Oliver put another masterpiece together against the Tigers to record his fifth hundred for the year with 129 from 41 possessions. Brisbane’s Jarryd Lyons has been a little up and down compared with last season, but we got a reminder of his best against the Suns with 30 touches and a season-high 128.

CASH COWS OF THE WEEK MICHAEL BARLOW MEDAL VOTES

The best player with a starting price under $300K will be awarded the MICHAEL BARLOW MEDAL as the best cash cow of the year. The votes for round six were: JOSH GIBCUS RICH, DEF – 89 u The young Tiger found himself offloaded by many after his cash generation was considered too slow. He had a breakout performance against Melbourne, taking an 12marks and scoring a career-high 89.

TYSON STENGLE GEEL, FWD – 79 u The rookie-priced Cat recruit has put together impressive back-to-back scores of 79 and 80.

SAM HAYES PA, RUC – 77 u The Power ruckman made the most of his opportunity to hold down the fort in the big man department, recording an impressive 47 hit-outs on his way to a season-high 77. RYAN GARDNER WB, DEF – 72 u The Bulldog has kick-started some handy cash generation following a slow start to the season. He has scored 71 and 72 the past two weeks, taking eight marks on both occasions. JASON HORNE-FRANCIS NM, MID – 67 u The No. 1 pick hasn’t hit huge heights, but he is as safe as they come. He collected 19 possessions against Geelong last week on his way to a solid 67.

CARLTON

MID u The inspirational skipper returned from a hamstring strain without missing a beat. He dominated against the Dockers with 32 possessions, four marks, five tackles and three goals for 123.

CLAYTON OLIVER

MELBOURNE

MID u The midfield machine is under-priced for the numbers he is producing due to a quiet game against the Power three weeks ago. Take that score out and he would be edging toward the $1m mark given his other scores are 100, 120, 117, 111 and 129. He has made his way into Roy’s Rollin’ 22 and is likely to stay.

CONNOR ROZEE

MELBOURNE

MID u The midfield bull copped extra attention against Richmond which slowed his scoring. He laid no tackles for the first time this year and recorded his third score under 85 in his past four games.

TIM TARANTO

GWS GIANTS

FWD/MID u Many savvy coaches were waiting for Toby Greene to return before pouncing on the in-form Giant. Unfortunately ‘TT’ returned his worst score of the year. Coming into the game, he had just one score under 100, but managed just 65.

ZAK BUTTERS FWD/MID

u Yes, the Power youngster was ill during the week and copped a knock early, but is it worth keeping someone else out of the team for that level of production? He played just 67 per cent game-time, and had just 11 touches, one mark and one tackle for 34.

ELLIOT YEO

WEST COAST EAGLES

MID u If you took a punt on the returning star due to his tempting price, you will be forced to move him back on. There were promising signs against the Swans, but he lasted only 29 per cent of the game against the Power where he collected four possessions for 18.

MATT CROUCH

ADELAIDE

MID

u After starting with 21, 48, 54 and 55 playing mainly forward, the youngster was given a chance in the middle. He has embraced the opportunity, collecting 24 and 31 possessions respectively for scores of 113 and 119.

u The versatile Dogs skipper had dropped under triple figures just once before last round. He spent a lot of time forward against the Crows before moving into the midfield. His scoring reflected that, with 16 possessions and two marks for 73.

u The former premium isn’t getting it done at the elite levels we expect. Although he pumped out a respectable 83 last week, a player sitting in his midfield position needs to consistently reach triple figures.

ALSO CONSIDER: Touk Miller, Keidean Coleman, Dan Houston.

ALSO CONSIDER: Stephen Coniglio, Will Brodie, Dayne Zorko.

ALSO CONSIDER: Paddy McCartin, Jackson Mead, Corey Durdin.

u Sometimes clubs tell the truth and thankfully I followed the news coming out of the Blues camp very closely and held Patrick Cripps. It leaves my team one week further advanced.

u It’s one step forward and two back when you have performances like Zak Butters’. I will hold him and remove a rookie instead (after rage trading him multiple times).

u I backed all the Dogs to be big last week, but only Josh Dunkley showed any bark. Expect them all to bounce back upon their return to Marvel Stadium.
