We are Bridgewater BRIDGEWATER LIFESTYLE HAS ARRIVED, AND WE ARE HUMBLED BY THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY. Allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Tiffany, and together with my husband, Jake, we are the publishers of Bridgewater's brand-new lifestyle magazine. For a little background on us, we met at Rutgers University. (Go Knights!) First came love. Then came marriage. Then came baby in the baby carriage...which meant it was time to buy a house! When we began house hunting, we knew that Bridgewater was where we wanted to raise our family. We were sold on the town for many reasons. The schools are amazing, and the neighborhoods are quaint yet still close to tons of shopping, dining and recreation options. Above all else, the people of this town are friendly and welcoming. We are now the proud parents of three little girls—who are actually our cover models—and we can't think of anywhere else in the world that we would rather call home.

INTRODUCE AFGHAN FOOD TO MARTINSVILLE HILLS OF HERAT'S MANTU—AFGHAN DUMPLINGS

ARTICLE JAKE SLOWINSKI PHOTOGRAPHY TIER ONE VENTURES LLC

Bridgewater Lifestyle | August 2019

WHAT IS AFGHAN CUISINE? It consists of marinated kabobs, seasoned veggies, freshly baked bread and remarkably flavored rices. Hills of Herat, a family-owned and -operated Afghan restaurant in Martinsville, gets it right. Every item on their menu is made from scratch with the freshest herbs and tastefully seasoned spices. All of their meat is Halal, non-GMO and grass-fed. Co-owners Wali Sidiqee, Mustafa Sidiqee and Abdul Saboor work hard to bring exposure to their cuisine. While Afghan food can seem intimidating to the unadventurous eater, once someone comes in and tries it, they come back time and time again. One of the biggest sellers on their menu is Mantu, which is Afghan-style dumplings. GROUND BEEF OR LAMB

Below is Hills of Herat’s four-serving recipe. Warning: These are amazing, so you may want to double your recipe size!

Add a few dashes of black pepper to taste and then remove from heat. 2. Mix in the cup of raw chopped onions with the meat and let it cool down to room temperature. 3. When asked if she ever encountered a dog that she couldn’t train, she emphatically replied no. Robbin believes that all dogs, regardless of breed or age, have the ability to be trained, but it requires reinforcement from the owners. In order to be successful, clients are strongly encouraged to follow the weekly homework. Robbin did admit that she was once asked to train a dog to use a human bathroom, and that was one undertaking that she was not willing to embark on! While most families contact Robbin for obedience training, she does indulge in a little fun with the dogs while she is there. She enjoys teaching the dogs tricks like jumping through a hoop or standing on a platform. “These games are good for mental stimulation. Plus, I have so much fun doing it!" In the spirit of giving back to the community, Robbin is a regular volunteer at Somerset Regional Animal Shelter and NJ AniMeals, a nonprofit that delivers food and litter to pet owners in need. She is also an Animal Control Officer. To learn more about the “paws-itive" results that Doggie Etiquette can provide, please visit DoggieEtiquette.com.
