eptember has arrived, which means the summer clothes are put up and the fall wardrobes make their debut. If you see an item you must have in these pages, Very Betty will be having a Trunk Show on September 20th from 4:00-8:00 pm, so come on by! To make your outfits complete, Brittany Malone will be offering her custom-made cowboy boots from her Bodacious Boot company line for sale during the show. We begin with STACEY FELTMAN. Stacey is a ten year native to Frisco. Many of you have most likely heard of, or perhaps even been privileged enough to be one of her clients. She is one of the area's top producing real estate agents. She runs the real estate group, Stacey Feltman Group. She has built her real estate business in the last four years to the esteem that take many other peers at least twenty year’s time. Pretty remarkable! No wonder her motto is "Making realty dreams a reality." She has received numerous accolades and awards to back up her work, including Best Agent in Frisco for two years; D Magazine's Best Real Estate Agent for 2016 and 2017; she has received a five star Real Estate Award and been featured in several publications for her outstanding work. She has a love for people and much of her business has been built on referrals from past clients. Stacey is married to her husband Scott and a proud mother to her children, daughter, Callie and son, Cole. Just as in her real estate business, her heart is just as large when giving back to our community. She is a large contributor to Frisco ISD, Frisco YMCA and Frisco Family Services just to name a few. During the November and December months, she and her staff deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to underprivileged families. Stacey recognizes she's in a business that is often coined as "sales." but she mentioned, "I don't see myself as a sales person; my clients aren't clients to me, they become my family." If you're looking to buy or sell a home, and become part of a family, contact Stacey at www.staceyfeltmangroup.com

Unlike traditional store front shops, Brittany wanted to create a non-conventional way of business. She enjoys creating her own hours, as to set time for honing into her clients. She acts as a personal stylist, she has helped style clients for events and been involved as a personal shopper for her clients as well. As she stated, “I want to make everyday women, no matter their size or shape look fabulous!” She caters to each body type and does her magic. Five years ago, Brittany started her own line of custom made cowboy boots. (featured in this piece). The line, Bodacious Boot Company, are fashion cowboy boots made with attitude and style! Brittany incorporates only the highest quality materials when creating the boots. This includes the likes of real Swarovski crystals! These have been showcased by contestants on the show America’s Got Talent. She offers these on her website, http:www.bodaciousbootco.com, authorized retailers and at Diva B. Designs as well. In her shop she also sells, clothing, accessories, collegiate wear for games days, and more. Brittany not only wears boots, she wears different “hats,” too. When not styling all the women in town, you can find her in camo. That’s right, camo. She is a part of Diva Wow – this educates women in the outdoor side of life. This includes, hunting, fishing and archery. She is also a part of the group Ducks Unlimited and The Frisco Women’s League. SHANNON is a Frisco native, alongside her husband George and two children, daughter Marin and son Kerr. Shannon was a part of building the Hope Park area we now enjoy in Frisco. During this large project, she had the chance to meet several individuals who would spearhead the opportunity for her to purchase the successful closet organization business now called, Dallas Closet Design. Shannon has stayed active in several charities around the area. She is a part of a wonderful program with her daughter, Marin called the North Charity League. This allows mothers and daughters to keep connected during the 7th-12th grade time frame. She and the rest of the family are also very involved in the Texas Big Star Half Marathon. This benefits the North Texas Community Giving Foundation. The next big race will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Shannon would love to see all the Frisco residents join in! If you are needing organization help, contact http:www. dallasclosetdesign.com to get started! We all need to stay organized and Shannon will help!

s we head into the fall season, we asked Karen White, owner of Oasis Accents, to share with our readers some of her favorite home accessories. “There are so many options, but if I have to choose, it would be an accessory that adds a simple, but elegant touch to a room. It can be a vase that adds a subtle or bold pop of color or a beautiful picture frame that holds a precious memory of a loved one. You can also create ambiance with lighting from a beautiful table lamp or use a pair of book ends to hold some of your favorite books.” She went on to say, “When you have all of the big furniture items in a room, you use accessories to make the space feel warm and cozy – to make it feel like home. Here are just a few of Karen’s favorites. Be sure to stop by Oasis Accents when you can, to find these items and many more gorgeous accessories that can transform your home into your very own oasis. KOH PHANGAN: BELOW THE SURFACE

A diminutive island resting in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Phangan is home to a duality that contrasts its festive full moon celebrations at Haad Rin beach with the quieter days on Samui Archipelago, where Ang Thong Marine Park’s 40 mostly uninhabited islands sprawl across 60 miles of the gulf’s lapis waters. Climb aboard a speedboat to reach the marine park’s outlying islands and plunge into the waters of the Koh Wao cluster at its northern edge. The sheltered cove here, a secret snorkeling spot, harbors brilliant whip and fan coral formations abuzz with neon reef fish. Or, set sail on a catamaran to the clandestine diver’s paradise of tiny Koh Tao, or “Turtle Island,” favored for its placid waters where Clear waters and blue skies in Krabi

you can swim alongside namesake sea turtles. A jungle trek on Koh Phangan’s peninsula will lead you to another must-experience secluded bay. The just-under-twohour hike to Haad Rin’s twin beaches is a rarified one, even for locals. This makes the experience feel incredibly singular as you crest a scenic mountain plateau and descend to the waters framing the beach at Haad Yuan for a refreshing swim. Thailand rewards with beach paradises while simultaneously imparting unexpected adventure. Whether you’re seeking an adrenaline-fueled experience or a tranquil and luxurious stay, let us help you uncover the hidden side of Thailand.

Parting Thoughts

Mayor Cheney in Front of City Hall

M AYO R ' S T U R N MAYOR 'S MUSINGS ARTICLE MAYOR JEFF CHENEY | PHOTOGRAPHY BRANDON FRAKES

I

knew when I was running for Mayor one of greatest areas where I wanted to make significant change was in how we communicate. When I was talking with thousands of Frisconians, one of the biggest complaints was lack of transparency. This legitimate objection comes from a place of lack of information or more importantly, lack of communication. My intention is to revolutionize the way we communicate with each other. First step is addressing the need for better and increased communication opportunities. The second step is actually doing it. We are organizing various styles of gatherings for Frisconians to ask questions and discuss issues in different formats, environments and constituency groups. We had a pARTy with Mayor Cheney which is a more casual social gathering with Frisco’s vibrant art community to discuss how Frisco can encourage the arts. Our next one is September 7th at 8680 Gallery. If you are an artist or simply appreciate art, please join the discussion. We have had large crowds two times for our Coffee with the Mayor already. You are invited

to come to City Hall, 5th floor and join the casual Q&A format. National Breast Cancer Foundation was the first host for the Mayor’s Business Round Table. It is an opportunity for business people to address their obstacles and ideas. Also in August, we held our first Chai with Cheney which is a town hall meeting held quarterly focusing on our growing, diverse community. Coming up in October, we will be holding our first social gathering with Frisco’s veterans and a Frisco Lakes town hall. All of these communication opportunities are listed on my calendar at http://www. mayorcheney.com/ where you can sign up to attend. And, if you have a suggestion, please drop me a note through my website. It’s been exciting to see all the new restaurants opening at The Star. Many of you ask what my favorite restaurants are in Frisco. My family and I have enjoyed visiting the new Cane Rosso and Neighborhood Services. However, our nearly once-a-week old standby is always Blue Goose. If you see me there, please stop and say hello. I’ll probably be eating my favorite food group, chips and salsa.
