When this time of year hits, valley homeowners often look for new projects to spruce up the home. One project that tends to intrigue people is replacing the cabinets throughout the home.
One Gilbert business that is helping homeowners make those dreams a reality is Cabinet Solutions USA. Cabinet Solutions USA specializes in cabinetry for all areas of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, home offices, bars, storage areas, and entertainment centers.
According to Kirsten Whipps, General Manager of Cabinet Solutions USA, making your home fresh and new is a top priority for her team. “We are passionate about stylish, functional design and quality cabinetry suited to each individual client and space we work with.” The company has had a showroom in Scottsdale since 2010 but recently opened a beautiful new showroom in Gilbert.

While they see the project through from beginning to end, Whipps shares there are times that can be harder than others. “When construction is underway and all the design concepts are becoming a reality, it is the most exciting and stressful part. We make sure to make ourselves available during this critical stage to answer questions and troubleshoot any issues that might arise.”
New cabinets aren’t just for people building a new home; Cabinet Solutions USA also works directly with homeowners in any size remodeling project. They also work with contractors and interior designers, so their client base can vary. “Many of the homeowners we work with value the expertise we provide and our wide range of product offerings. For our repeat interior designer and contractor clients, we work hard to make their job easier and take exceptional care of their clients as if they were our own.”

Pothos, spider plants, lady palms, yucca, and succulents are so pretty and easy to grow. It is no wonder that we have seen a revival of indoor gardening trends. Instagram is teeming with photos of incredible indoor “living green” vignettes that show us all how clever we can be when decorating with house plants! All you really need is to a pick a place in the home that has the best light and pick your plants.

Go vertical with some hanging plants or an antique ladder. You can even group some of your favorite plants together into a single large decorative pot.

Whether combined into a single large decorative pot or clustered together in a corner, always remember the key to any house plant décor is to have a thriller, a tall plant usually with a strong color and form; filler plants that literally will fill the pot covering all the soil; and a spiller plant that trails over the edge of the pot. Try any combination of your favorite plants or a tried and true combination of a fiddle-leaf fig, a prayer plant, and a string of pearls. No matter how you look at it, houseplants improve our lives in many ways. Indoor gardens provide us an alternative way to commune with nature and to reconnect with the living world. We all benefit from the additional life that houseplants bring into our homes. In this crazy world of ours, wouldn’t be it nice to return home to your own personal indoor greenspace.

Don’t worry; this isn’t as demanding as it might sound. You can get away with cleaning your windows once every couple of months. A heavy monsoon season may cause additional wear and tear on your windows, and you’ll want to bump that cleaning number up to once a month.
Giving your windows a full rundown and checking for any leaks should happen yearly; but if you’re already cleaning them once a month, why not just check for any air seepage while you’re at it? There’s no harm in being thorough.

PINEAPPLE AND MANGO INFUSED COCONUT WATER
INGREDIENTS:
• 2 cups fresh pineapple, cubed
• 1 cup fresh mango, cubed
• 4 cups coconut water (unsweetened preferred)
• Ice cubes (optional)
• Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Peel and cube fresh pineapple and mango.
• Ensure the fruit pieces are bite-sized to release flavor faster.
• In a large pitcher, add the pineapple and mango cubes.
• Pour the coconut water over the fruit.
• Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
• For a stronger flavor, infuse overnight.
• Give the infused water a gentle stir.
• Pour into glasses over ice cubes, if desired.
• Garnish with fresh mint leaves for an extra refreshing touch.
HOT LEMON AND GINGER INFUSED WATER
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 medium-sized fresh ginger root (about 2 inches), peeled and thinly sliced
• 1 fresh lemon, sliced
• 4 cups of water
• 1–2 teaspoons of honey (optional, to taste)
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Peel the ginger and slice it thinly
• Wash the lemon thoroughly and slice it into thin rounds.
• Bring 4 cups of water to a boil
• add the sliced ginger to the water at simmer
• Let the ginger simmer for 10–15 minutes to extract its flavor and nutrients.
• Add the lemon slices to the water and let it steep for 5–10 minutes.
• If you prefer strain the water into your mug or pot.
• Stir in honey if you'd like a touch of sweetness.
• Garnish with a fresh lemon slice or a small piece of ginger, if desired.
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Wash the blueberries and basil leaves thoroughly.
• Slice the lime into thin rounds.
• In a large pitcher, add the blueberries, lime slices, and basil leaves.
• Gently muddle the ingredients with the back of a spoon to release their natural flavors.
• Pour 4 cups of water (filtered or sparkling) over the muddled mixture.
• Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
• For a stronger taste, let it sit overnight.
• Stir the water gently before serving.
• Pour into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing chill.
• Optionally, garnish with a sprig of basil or a few fresh blueberries.
BLUEBERRY, LIME, AND BASIL INFUSED WATER
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 cup fresh blueberries
• 1 lime, thinly sliced
• 6–8 fresh basil leaves
• 4 cups water (filtered or sparkling, based on preference)
