DIRECTOR OF A L U M N I R E L AT I O N S Spring is upon us and we are all returning to Life! By the time you read this article, you will be in the process of reopening, your social environment, and your lives. The return to normalcy is closer to reality than any of our 2020 selves could have imagined. Here on campus, the students, faculty and staff are returning to the familiar halls, classrooms, and labs left silent for much of the past year. Although never dormant during the Covid isolation, Life West is seeing new growth and activity as we witness a summertime surge. What’s new in the alumni department? The biggest news is my Alumni Roadshow. I’m heading out on the road this spring and summer with the one and only Dr. Ankur Tayal, Chair of the Philosophy and Business Department and President of the Alumni Association Board. We have affectionately dubbed our events the Alumni Roadshow. We are hosting “FRIEND-raising” dinners with small groups of alumni and friends in select cities. Initially, we will focus close to home in the San Francisco Bay Area and then will be heading to Southern California most likely in the fall. Our agenda is pretty simple - we want to find out how business is going, see what
needs you may have and how Life West can support your success. We will bring your thoughts and perspectives back to the campus and add them to the ongoing dialogue that helps shape the future of our profession. Let's reconnect! We would love to meet up in your city. If you can gather a small group of alumni and friends together and are willing to co-host an evening, send me an email at jibe@lifewest.edu. On another note, this is a huge year for our alumni reunion years. At the WAVE 2021, we are recognizing all graduates from the years ending in ‘01 and ‘06. We are also recognizing our graduates from ‘00 and ‘05 who did not get to gather last year. So this will truly be a GRAND reunion. It will be held in the Life West Learning Commons (formerly the library). Register now at wave.lifewest.edu/alumnirsvp/. WAVE attendance is not required to attend the Grand Reunion.
