Greens can win this Euro election! The European election is held under a proportional voting system. Rupert Read needs just one in ten votes to become one of the MEPs for our region. Last time round he was just 1% short of winning. Your vote will make a difference this time. No matter who you usually vote for, this is your chance to elect a Green to represent you. Rupert Read is top of the Green Party’s list of European election candidates for the Eastern region. Rupert lives in Norwich with his wife Juliette and teaches at the University of East Anglia. He is the Green Party’s national spokesperson on transport and a former City Councillor. Rupert Read says: “On protecting the countryside and wildlife, on education and local farming, Greens in the European Parliament are making a difference. I’m standing to be your voice in Europe. As your MEP I will work to stop over-development and support strong local communities. Our rural communities should have access to local shops, services and bus links and a local food supply.”
