Punching fascists in the face through the medium of drag, Motherland is a visceral full bodied dragged up queertastic howl of a show exploring nationalism, identity and our ability to speak out. Some people say it’s about British values. Some people say it’s not about intolerance, it’s about not tolerating intolerance. Some people say they don’t mind change but it’s happening too fast. Some people say we need to get back to the true India. And what do you say? Jo Tyabji is associate director for Milk Presents, the company who brought you BULLISH.

DEAD MEN’S EYES Two chilling and thrilling tales from M R James, the master of the English ghost story. In The Treasure of Abbot Thomas a treasure-seeker comes face to face with unspeakable horror at the bottom of ancient well. This is the sixth instalment of Nunkie’s M R James series of one-man shows that seek to revive the tradition of oral, supernatural storytelling that was perfected by Montague Rhodes James in Cambridge in the years leading up to World War One.

It’s going to be loud, hot, sweaty and amazing.

Formed originally in the 1970s by exiled South African pianist and composer Chris MacGregor (1936-90), BoB had a massive impact on the London jazz scene, playing host to legendary South African expats forced out by apartheid, including Dudu Pukwana and Louis Moholo. By the 1980s, a third edition had evolved including some of the brilliant musicians playing here tonight. The BoB flag has flown sporadically ever since, keeping MacGregor’s vision alive, including festival headline spots, so we can’t quite believe we’ve persuaded BOB to play in Poole in the intimate confines of the studio.
