Note to Readers:
While there are stewards supporting the movement, there are no boards or governing bodies holding ownership of the Holomovement itself. The Holomovement is an experiment in joyful collaboration–a named space for coalition and shared collective wisdom–rather than a non-profit or organizational entity. Authors and editors in this edition of the e-book have collectively contributed in the spirit of the Holomovement and that is why no bylines are included.

Introduction
Joy as a Catalyst for Collaborative Change
In March of 2023, a group of nearly 90 leaders gathered together in Sedona, Arizona for the “Igniting the Holomovement” convergence. It was a co-creative experience to build momentum for a critical mass of mainstream understanding moving us from an ‘I’ to ‘we’ to ‘all’ state of consciousness. For four days, participants engaged in dialogue about our vision for collaboration and how a “movement of movements” could support and amplify the extraordinary work already being done within our networks.
More than a catchy title, the Holomovement was envisioned as a name to rally around in collaborative social change. The holomovement was a term first coined by David Bohm, an American physicist and a contemporary of Einstein, to define our Universe as a living, interconnected whole. Bohm believed that at the center of the universe there is an Implicate Order–the source of consciousness. The Implicate Order flows into the Explicate Order as manifest reality. The holomovement is the wholeness-in-motion bridging the two fields together.
Inspired by Bohm’s vision, the term ‘holomovement’ perfectly describes the sociological phenomenon underlying the worldwide movement toward unity. In the sacred and energetic setting of Sedona, participants of “Igniting the Holomovement” set the intention to reconnect with and fan the flame of collective purpose.
Something had ignited a deeply felt spirit of co-creative action in those special days together, a bubbling of possibility that continued to radiate long after our time together in Sedona. Many of us assumed what aligned us in vision and at the center of our important work could be defined as ‘impact,’ ‘energy’ or ‘vision,’ but what came forth was at first a bit of a surprise.
At the heart of this transformative movement, symbolized at the core of the logo’s four overlapping circles, was a consensus of joy. Could this be true?
At this critical time in human history, immersed in a world filled with crisis and suffering, can joy truly be the energetic force at the emergent center of the Holomovement?
The growing network of stewards within the Holomovement say a resounding, “Yes.”
Joy is at the heart of putting love into action in all the ways we have been called to accelerate this shift in human consciousness. For the Holomovement and its mission to awaken humanity to our interconnectedness, we are being asked to move in service from a place of ‘joy.’
Guided by science and spirituality, this unifying movement is catalyzing a massive shift in human consciousness. As stewards of the Holomovement, we strive for a community that fosters collaboration, envisioning a world where prosperity, purpose and belonging flourish. In this heightened frequency of love, we can embody life’s purpose and meaning to pursue that vision with courage and compassion. After all, it could be said that the original vibration of the Implicate Order was founded in love, which was intended to be the force behind the ultimate goal of the Explicate Order once beings like us appeared on the scene to express it.
This sense of purposeful joy can enlarge the emerging field of unity. Perhaps this is what modern-day joy is about, the giving and receiving of loving gifts while serving the greater good. Will it be this ripple-effect of joyful consciousnessin-action that will finally awaken us to our interconnectedness and then endure forever? We believe it to be so.
The Holomovement is a global community of innovators, change-makers, compassionate individuals, businesses and nonprofits drawn to creating a better world. Thank you for riding this collaborative wave as a fellow steward of the movement and helping to joyfully transform the world to work well for all beings.

Putting Love Into Action
A Transformative Wave is Set In Motion
The anthology, “The Holomovement; Embracing Our Collective Purpose to Unite Humanity” was published and celebrated alongside the Sedona convergence in March of 2023. It was a launching point for the movement and a way to give voice to the many ways we can describe and support the Holomovement (with a capital ‘H’) and its collaborative vision.
Co-editors Emanuel Kuntzelman and Jill Robinson celebrate the publication of the anthology, “The Holomovement; Embracing Our Collective Purpose to Unite Humanity.”
A pebble had been dropped in the waters of possibility. We could feel the collaborative and joyful ripple-effect emanating outward. But exciting ideas are only the beginning. What was needed to amplify this transformative wave was a strategy to put this love into action. A foundation needed to be crafted to support the growing number of stewards in collaborating, educating and evolving what we had co-created in Sedona.
Building momentum for any kind of idea or project requires the enthusiasm and curiosity of the mainstream public. The Holomovement, with its vision of catalyzing a social movement aligning purpose and unifying values to serve the greatest good, is no different.
It’s no easy endeavor to shift the majority of our global family toward a more collaborative framework of living. The human experience is too complex for a “one-size-fits-all” initiative. However, we are finding inspiration in how to build transformative momentum by listening to the Silence of the Implicate Order and the vibrational movements radiating outward in the Explicate Order from the very core of our reality.
To co-create a movement of movements is a grand task. The vision had been illuminated in Sedona and then began the patient work of tending to the seeds of possibility. A core team of stewards was assembled and months of planning and coherence-building meetings were attended.
Like any garden, nurturing and tending to these seeds of ideas required patience and experimentation. The Holomovement was a message that needed to be nurtured into germination. Before the Holomovement could make waves, it needed to grow roots. Systems of communication needed to be assembled, a new website was launched, engagement strategies were crafted and core team functions were aligned.
Holomovement Momentum Builds
Momentum was building and almost a year after the Sedona convergence, the Holomovement was publicly announced among the same red rocks it was first ignited. Featured as the primary sponsor for the Sedona Yoga Festival, stewards of the Holomovement were able to take the message to a mainstream audience and invite them to join the movement for the first time.
A transformative wave was now rippling outward. Following an exciting season of speaking engagements and partnerships including the Bioneers Annual Conference and the Illuminate Film Festival, stewards were looking forward to a second Holomovement convergence planned for the Spring of 2024. It was titled: The Holomovement Wave.

Hosted in Ibiza, Spain and welcoming over 160 participants, the sold-out Ibiza Wave experience was the Holomovement effect amplified. People and projects aligned, a wave of exponential impact was moving outward and stewards of the Holomovement celebrated an incredible four-day convergence that featured speakers like author Lynne McTaggart, Google’s Chief AI strategist, Gopi Kallayil and Marc Buckley, Founder of ALOHAS Regenerative Foundation and author of the UN SDG Manifesto.
There was uplifting music, nourishing food and a celebration of regenerative action on the island’s Juntos Farm. Over 200 Ibiza locals and Wave attendees ate and danced together in a spirit of possibility to co-create and nurture the creative ideas percolating within each of us. The Holomovement had launched from the shoreline and was joyfully building in coherence.

Partnerships and relationships were starting to build following the Wave. Holon groups were starting to form around transformative projects and the word “Holomovement” was starting to ripple its way into conversations around the island of Ibiza.
Indeed, the trajectory of this transformative work is a wave. When building the vision and strategy for this social movement, it’s important to understand a wave not as a single linear kind of motion, like the typical ocean wave that a surfer catches. The wave we’re envisioning is inspired by the initial vibrational movement that supported the formation of our universe.
Throw a pebble into the still surface of a pond and a wave moves out in all directions, expanding and forming ripples. In this sense, we can easily apply this concept to our own potential for transformation. It’s cause and effect. When we offer an act of kindness, for example, or take action in a community clean-

up or support a project through a donation or volunteer effort, we can make a transformative impact, making waves of change that move outward within our community.
But the social impact is not just two-dimensional, it’s at least three-dimensional. Visualize the center of a circle expanding in 3D, growing and accelerating through all space and time just as the Big Beginning that initiated the universe.
This transformative wave also resembles a seed kernel, like the oak tree growing out of an acorn. The Holomovement offers the same essence, already holding the full potential and total form of an aligned and purposeful global family as it expands into and beyond space and time. At the core: Joy, Love, Oneness. This vibrational frequency sets the tone for what is possible when we awaken to our interconnectedness and realize a shift in human consciousness and our wholeness.
The Holomovement Embodied Through Love-in-Action
At the heart of the Holomovement, “Love-in-Action” stands as a profound force, weaving the threads of compassion into the very fabric of our shared reality. This foundational principle doesn’t merely guide our collective strategy; it breathes life into the ethos that underpins every facet of our collective journey. Serving as the unifying pulse between humanity and the planet, “Love-inAction” fosters cohesive and harmonious interactions among individuals, communities and the environments we all live in.
In a world fragmented by the illusion of separation, “Love-in-Action” emerges as a transformative force, heralding a path of healing, unity and sustainable coexistence. It beckons each of us to manifest love as a dynamic force for change—potent enough to bridge divides and ignite profound shifts in our interactions with the world. Through this prism of compassionate engagement, we not only enrich our individual lives but also fuel the collective journey toward global well-being.
“Love-in-Action” crystallizes the ethereal—love—as the tangible essence of our Universe and our lived experiences, visible in acts of kindness, cooperation

and collaboration. These gestures send ripples through our communities, igniting passion and inspiring more action of the same nature. The Holomovement harnesses these vibrations to reveal the inherent unity of life, showcasing that love, actively expressed, is the most compelling path to transformation.
The Holomovement’s mission, guided by “Love-in-Action,” strives to align our actions with the vision of a united, flourishing planet. This call to action is not merely an invitation—it is a clarion call to live love out loud, to engage with the world through a lens of empathy and unity.
This is truly a turning point in human understanding. We are finding our way back to our natural state of being, one that is inspired by love, creative expression and collaboration to align purpose and unifying values for the good of the whole.
Each of us can use our talents and purpose to contribute toward positive transformation. However, it’s not enough to take action alone. The lasting and sustainable impact will come from linking up and collaborating with our fellow change makers, within and among diverse areas of work.
The Four-Part Call to Action
Inviting a critical mass to awaken to our interconnectedness and collaborative potential requires vision and practical action. The Holomovement needed a tagline and call to action to catch the attention and hearts of fellow stewards. The Holomovement core team set to work.
“It Starts With Us” was a tagline spontaneously gifted in a casual statement after weeks of discussion. The Universe was being playful in its collaboration, and then soon came the call to action: See the Whole. Play Your Role. CoCreate with Soul.
To nurture this collective endeavor to build a culture of love, we are all truly invited to see the whole, play our roles and co-create with soul, advancing toward a future where every being thrives in profound harmony. This is a call to action that aligns a grand vision with grassroots efforts to collectively usher in the Unitive Age, with love in every transformative action.
1. Build a Culture of Love
A strong and grounded foundation is needed to create the launchpad for the Holomovement call to action. We must do the important work to “Build a Culture of Love,” to awaken to our interconnectedness and ignite a critical mass of collaborative action serving the good of the whole.
We are dreaming and affirming a grand vision. We are going BIG in what we know is possible. By building a culture of love, we are setting the stage for a transformative journey that infuses every aspect of our interactions and initiatives with the potent force of love. This element is not just a sentiment but a powerful, actionable strategy that permeates the entire movement.
The on-the-ground projects, partnerships and community must be able to affirm that they are building and/or reinforcing the work of building a culture of love that embodies the Holomovement. In elevating love from a concept to a visible force in action ensures that every action we undertake is imbued with kindness, compassion and a deep commitment to collective well-being. This approach
challenges us to embody love in all our deeds, turning it into the driving force behind our mission to unite and heal our world.
The Holomovement was part of the Unite 4 Peace Coalition, global impact networks uniting for Peace Week 2024, and the 43rd anniversary of the International Day of Peace.
2. See the Whole
The Holomovement’s mission is to make the understanding of Oneness mainstream. The culture of love we are building isn’t an exclusive invitation for specific groups. This is a movement of movements, for ALL. This is the importance of seeing the whole picture and the living superorganism that we are all a part of.
To “See the Whole” broadens our perspective to encompass the vast interdependence and kinship with all life and systems. Our Universe is an extraordinary, conscious, living superorganism, and each of us are vital to its health and evolution. There is a greater incentive to co-create a loving culture that honors the collective good over individual gains when we can realize how deeply entangled we are as a human (and more-than-human) family. As the poet Rumi reminds us, “Even when tied in a thousand knots, the string is still but one.”
This step of the Holomovement call-to-action urges us to transcend narrow personal and local concerns, adopting a whole worldview. To see the whole is an exercise in considering the extensive implications of our every action. This is the importance of a movement guided by both Science and Spirit. It is also why the Holomovement is not affiliated with one specific faith, political party or delegated by a board of directors or structured as an organization.
3. Play Your Role
It’s a comfortable mental exercise to imagine a loving and socially just and peaceful world, but this is the Holomovement. Social change requires creative and joyful social action. “Play Your Role” was a strategic next step in how we build a critical mass of collaboration. The Holomovement recognizes and nurtures the individual and collective agency necessary to co-create transformation. The world needs each of us to tune in to our true callings and activate our purpose.
This call to action encourages active participation, urging everyone to find and fulfill their roles with purpose, agency and integrity. The Holomovement is a call to unity, not uniformity. Through this engagement, we ensure the diversity and vitality of the movement, allowing for a robust and emergent synergy that tackles global challenges effectively and cohesively.
Each individual, community, Holon, aligned organization and network is seen as a pivotal piece of the larger puzzle, endowed with unique strengths and capacities essential for effecting meaningful change. We will be discussing Holons more thoroughly in Part III of the book, but for now, the important understanding comes in each of us knowing our responsibility to take action. By honoring each of our unique gifts and callings and empowering hope, meaning and evolutionary direction through social action, we can spark community collaboration. Playing our role with authentic purpose and passion is fundamental to the transformative impact of the Holomovement.
4. Co-Create with Soul
“Co-Create with Soul” is a statement that invites joy and conviction in its expression. We’re engaging in important, exciting work. This stage transcends traditional, transactional interactions and instead, fosters deep partnerships based on profound trust and shared aspirations. It is by finding our soul’s purpose—we were all born to do something special in our own way—that we are able to co-create from a place that is authentic and loving.
Countless “Communities of Action” within the Holomovement are igniting hope, healing and unity across the globe and joining together in common purpose, goals and actions. While there are stewards helping to ignite and hold the flame of this catalyzing movement, there are no boards or governing bodies holding ownership of the Holomovement itself.
Leading the way in founding this growing network, however, have been a community of advisory stewards drawn from the Evolutionary Leaders network, Synergy Circle community, World Unity Week collaborators, Hylo stewards, non-profit organizations and purpose-driven creatives with a passion for creating a world that works for everyone. In the spirit of aligning purposeful action with unifying values, these co-creative and collaborative partnerships have been exploring ways to amplify collective coherence and maximize positive impact through coordination. These partnerships are an experiment in implementing a strategy for creating a space of collective intelligence, offering resources and support where needed.
An Inclusive Invitation to Ride This Wave Together
“Building a culture of love to See the Whole, Play Your Role and Co-Create with Soul” is the Holomovement four-part call to action guiding a comprehensive strategy. Propelled by the unifying power of Love-in-Action, each step builds upon the last, forming a holistic approach to global transformation that encourages every participant to actively engage and self-organize in shaping a future that reflects our highest values and shared humanity. Yet, each strategy can stand alone as a compelling call to action for those inspired to get involved.
Within the dynamic scope of the Holomovement’s strategy, everyone finds a unique pathway to align their passion, purpose and vocation. Whether you are drawn to deeply engage with a single aspect like building a culture of love, or integrate all four components into a comprehensive, personal, entrepreneurial mission, the framework accommodates and supports every unique journey. There’s no prescribed way to participate. Instead, the Holomovement opens a spectrum of opportunities for individuals to identify how they can most effectively contribute and self-organize.
Whether it’s embodying love in every action or contributing to a collective vision, each route is equally valid and crucial. This inclusive strategy ensures every participant’s experience is meaningful and transformative, seamlessly blending personal endeavors with the global pursuit of a harmonious and interdependent world.
PART I:
Building a Culture of Love
The Holomovement Effect
A New Octave for Collaboration
The Great Mystery
In the beginning, the heartbeat of the universe created waves that rippled throughout the cosmos.
The Great Mystery had a vision. And showed us the stars and Earth, its creatures and beauty, the beginnings, growth and endings of things.
The First World of the Eastern rising sun was made of all the elements. Each receiving its own power and spirit swirling about the unformed cosmos.
The Second World emerged from the North where life-giving habitats began to form sun, moon, stars, rivers, forest, oceans. Each with their own life-giving beauty.
The Third World hailed from the West filled with all the animals, the flyers, walkers, crawlers and swimmers. Each a unique spirit and role in the emerging flow of life.
The Fourth World of the South was the last, and the form we take now was born.
We are the youngest of creation; we are the ones who rely on the previous Three Worlds, the “more-than-humans,” for our lives. We invite our ancestors of the Three Worlds into our decisions and into our hearts.
When we have chosen well, we benefit all worlds and the spirit of the new earth lives through us.
Creating Transformative Ripples
Love is not just a sentiment but a powerful energy that permeates the entire Holomovement. Every action we engage in is like a pebble dropped in a pond. What we set in motion carries a vibration that is coded by love or fear. The Holomovement and its stewards aim to create ripples imbued with kindness, compassion and a deep commitment to collective well-being.
Building this culture of love moves us beyond theory and concept and requires us to get out into the world. Love must be put into action and experienced. It is a practice that requires intention and attention. Deep listening and grassroots activity are both necessary in how we co-create this new way of living. And joy, of course. What is a gathering without a sense of possibility and excitement!?
This is what the Holomovement is building–a culture of love that is buoyant and uplifting in its service for the good of the whole. The time has come for an evolutionary leap, allowing and trusting our individual consciousness to include the collective consciousness. We call this expanded perspective the “Holomovement effect.”
The Holomovement effect is an awakening to the combined wisdom of the whole. In this elevated frequency, we are no longer reactive to fear, faults and shortcomings of our individual selves. Embraced in the love and community of the collective consciousness, we experience a coherence that resonates with possibility and intention for extraordinary impact.
Fortunately, the Holomovement effect is not simply a fleeting experience. Following the “Igniting the Holomovement” convergence in Sedona, many participants began to experience the joyful occurrences of the Holomovement effect in action. Projects were launched into motion and connections and communities were forming. It seemed that leaders and partnerships were appearing just as they were needed.
As stewards of the Holomovement began speaking at events like the Sedona Yoga Festival, the Bioneers 35th Annual Conference and Illuminate Film Festival, this effect seemed to amplify. Our human family is yearning for collaboration
and community nourished by joyful service. While the Holomovement and its theory was still new to most audiences, the heartfelt vision was felt energetically. For those that participated in the Holomovement Wave: Ibiza 2024 convergence, there was an embodiment of joyful celebration that seemed to elevate this love frequency to new heights, connecting international stewards from diverse sectors. It was the way the Holomovement and its message made people feel that captivated an audience.
Embracing the Co-Creative Spirit of Elevated Group Consciousness
It is worth reiterating again and again that striving for unity and collective coherence does not mean building a culture of love that agrees on everything.
The Holomovement effect is an uplifting experience of connection and coherence that inspires transformative action for the good of the whole. This concept of tapping into and inviting the experience of ‘Group consciousness’ can sometimes come with tension, however, and clarifying how it is defined within the Holomovement is essential.
It is often assumed group consciousness is advocating for an alignment based on the least common denominator (usually a concept sourced from fear and scarcity) or a fancy way to describe “groupthink.” In many cases, people are on the defense with the assumption that elevated group consciousness requires the sacrifice of individual self into the cosmic soup.
The Holomovement as a social movement defines ‘group consciousness’ as a co-creative field guided by the highest ideals, values and philosophy founded in love and wholeness. It represents a raised collective frequency made possible by individuals embodying their highest self for the good of the whole.
This is why the first call to action within the Holomovement is to build a culture of love.
We are shifting from a fear-based, materialistic worldview, to one of wholeness, interconnectedness and abundance. It’s finding coherence by seeking Truth, Beauty and Goodness as the holotropic attractor, tapping into the infinite potential of the Implicate Order, Divine Source and elevating humanity toward its highest purpose.
Group consciousness isn’t simply effective teamwork. What is urgently needed is an entirely new resonance of being. This space is not dictated by the egos and agendas of individuals. Drawing from Indigenous wisdom and scientific findings, the Holomovement’s 8 Unifying Principles offer one pathway for group consciousness to emerge. Within this co-creative space we can collectively explore what is possible when we awaken to our interconnectedness and connection to Source and take action for the good of the whole.
This is the hope-filled vision that motivates the movement. We’re wired to collaborate. Even more exciting is the feedback loop this creates, ultimately enhancing the true essence of self through our connection to the whole.
The Holomovement Effect as a Dynamic Process
On paper, it seems an easy sell to participate in raising our collective frequency by embodying the highest ideals and unifying values for the good of all. If
we are all interconnected and want the best for humanity and our planetary ecosystem, what keeps holding us back?
Shifting our worldview from separation to Oneness requires a courageous act of shedding our cultural conditioning. We’ve been immersed in stories valuing competition over cooperation, fueled by fear and material scarcity. Awakening to a new worldview of wholeness requires exploring a new transformative path.
We don’t have to sacrifice our individual soul and calling to experience and radiate the Holomovement effect. In this co-creative group consciousness, we’re invited to surrender to the higher wisdom and Source that enhances our individual and collective transformative potential. Within the Holomovement, the key strategy for transformative and restorative group consciousness is to “entrain upwards”—aligning with a higher consciousness that pulls the group into phase at higher frequencies.
The Holomovement effect is a dynamic process of surrendering to our highest calling while also amplifying the collective frequency through coherence. This is the power of entrainment, when separate groups align into the same rhythm by surrendering to the unifying values, wisdom and wholeness of a purposeful universe. By tapping into this elevated state of our highest selves, we contribute to a feedback loop of personal transformation amplifying and elevating the collective frequency.
Co-Creating A Frequency of Trust
Of course, finding this elevated state requires intention and ongoing practice, and that is why experiencing and radiating the Holomovement effect is a group endeavor. Each member must move beyond ego and their culturally conditioned identity to discover the true highest self within the Whole.
Having a sense of purpose is one pathway to this higher consciousness. What we’re drawn toward, our gifts and talents, these are all clues to how we can serve our community. Once we discover this personal purpose, we can evolve our understanding of this calling toward divine inspiration. Transformative action begins when we are able to rise to the occasion and embrace a collective
frequency that resonates with love and hope. The Holomovement effect is then set into motion by ego-less action.
Building a culture of love is also about creating a culture of trust. It is an act of surrender to open to the field of higher consciousness in how our unique skill sets can be of service, beyond material wealth or achievement. So often we’re drawn back to the daily challenges and lose sight of our purpose in the illusion of separation.
This is why a daily, spiritual practice supports our ability to consistently attune toward our highest potential and sustain this state of consciousness necessary for conscious collaboration. It sounds like a paradox, but the more we are willing to surrender to the good of the whole, the more enhanced our individual consciousness becomes. It is helpful to reflect on the exciting ways co-creation and collaboration can offer access to an unlimited and untapped source of information, energy and grounded confidence. Often, these relationships go on to create an undeniable magnet for joy, abundance and connection with others, building bridges between and among diverse sectors.
As a human family we begin pushing ourselves beyond our cultural conditioning and immersing ourselves into the unifying values supporting the good of the whole. Let’s find our way back to the high spiritual frequency that has been buried by materialism and modern-day culture and begin to co-create the group consciousness needed to transform the world.
When an idea’s time has come, it bubbles up, entering a new octave of potential. Awakening our global family to our interconnectedness and igniting a critical mass of collaborative action serving the good of the whole is not only for the people who “get it.” The Holomovement is an invitation to experience and elevate the frequency of the Holomovement effect, in our personal practices and within our relationships, organizations and communities.
A Science of Love
The Initial Vibration of the Holomovement
Intuitively, it feels appropriate that love should be at the foundation of a movement, but we can’t take for granted the many ways we gravitate toward a story or worldview. The word ‘love’ comes with many definitions, emotions and assumptions.
Within the Holomovement, love is the unifying force and the “why” of this social movement. In a world increasingly guided by scientific discovery, the concept of love has transcended its philosophical and theological boundaries, entering the realm of empirical investigation. This exploration is not new but is gaining renewed attention as disciplines like quantum physics, biology and cosmology converge on the understanding that love is a fundamental component of our Universe’s architecture.
Love and the Implicate Order
David Bohm’s theory of the ‘holomovement’ describes our Universe as an undivided wholeness in constant flux, a flowing movement that encompasses all aspects of reality, suggesting that everything that exists is part of a single, unified process. This “wholeness in motion” articulates a profound interconnectedness, where every part of our Universe is interlinked with every other part, dynamically and continuously.
His theory of the Implicate and Explicate Order offers a profound framework for understanding our Universe not as a collection of separate parts, but as a coherent whole. The Implicate Order represents a deeper dimension of reality. It’s where all forms of matter and energy are interconnected at a fundamental level. This unseen realm is where everything is enfolded into everything else; it’s a space of potentiality and undifferentiated wholeness, beyond the individual distinctions observed in the Explicate Order, which is the manifest, tangible world of discrete entities and events that we interact with daily.
Bohm postulated that the Implicate Order is the foundation of reality, an underlying unity that connects all seemingly separate elements in our Universe. He described how, from this Implicate Order, the manifest world of the Explicate unfolds, where things appear separate and distinct.
However, these separations are merely superficial, as each part retains a fundamental connection to the whole. This dynamic process of unfolding (from Implicate to Explicate) and enfolding (from Explicate back to Implicate) suggests a continuous cosmic dance of creation and dissolution.
By extending Bohm’s conceptualization to the broader understanding of our Universe, the Implicate Order aligns closely with what the “new, unitive science” calls the unified field or various spiritual and Indigenous traditions have referred to as the web of life, Indra’s Net, oneness or love—a universal force of attraction and unity that binds our Universe together.
This holistic view sees our Universe itself as a coherent whole, where every action, movement, and moment is intrinsically interconnected and interdependent to every other. It challenges the classical, mechanistic model of our Universe, suggesting instead that the true nature of reality is characterized by a dynamic, unified wholeness in motion.
This theory has profound implications for understanding love as a fundamental force in our Universe. If the Implicate Order represents a realm of unified wholeness, then love—often considered the ultimate unifying force—could be seen as the vibrant energy that maintains this coherence. Love, in this context, acts not just as an emotional or relational dynamic, but as a cosmic principle that binds the fabric of our Universe, sustaining the holistic and interdependent nature of all existence.
In essence, Bohm’s vision reveals a Universe where the Implicate Order serves as a living canvas of wholeness, with love as the brushstroke that continually paints our reality into being. This perspective invites us to reevaluate how we see our connections with others and the world, emphasizing that every act of kindness or collaboration is not just socially beneficial but is aligned with the fundamental principles that govern our Universe.
The Science of Love: Contributions from Modern Researchers
The Nobel Prize in Physics for the year 2022 was awarded to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger for their pioneering work regarding quantum entanglement, a phenomenon that provides scientific backing to ideas of interconnectedness or unitive relationships across distances, thus supporting notions of a deeply interconnected universe. This aligns with the concept of love and unity as fundamental forces, mirroring the interconnected and coherent nature of existence as proposed by the unitive sciences.
It scientifically validated the concept of universal Oneness, bridging ancient spiritual wisdom with modern science. It was a synchronistic announcement made public just as the Holomovement anthology was about to go to print. It was a thrilling finding to include in the Foreword of the book, written by physicist and world religions scholar, Dr. William Keepin. What’s more, this concept of non-locality is a necessary component for Bohm’s theory of quantum physics to work. Einstein was unable to accept the notion that information can travel faster than the speed of light, but the 2022 Nobel Prize validates it. Science was confirming what the wisdom traditions have long known to be true: Everything is connected.
Not only are we connected, but the very building blocks of our reality also reiterate our preference and need for connection. The atoms and holons that piece together our reality are shining examples of the “unbroken wholeness of our existence.” Just as an atom is the building block of the material world, a holon is the building block of the cooperative world.
A holon, a term coined by Hungarian British author and journalist Arthur Koestler, refers to a whole that is simultaneously part of another whole. It is the tiniest, holistic part of the entire unit. Since the Big Beginning, everything, every living form, has been connected all along. It is why after 13.7 billion years our human species continues to be lured by “wholeness.”
It is not a world of separation, but a world born from a conscious source of cooperation, sacred relationships and discovery. This message is everywhere within the wisdom traditions. It is particularly clear in the Ubuntu tradition
that claims we become ourselves through others, or “I am what I am because of who we are.” The relationship gives us identity. We are becoming the best essence of who we are by that relationship, and the relationship becomes us, and us in the whole.
A growing number of scientists and physicists continue to explore how love influences human biology and reality at the quantum level. Their collective work points to love’s role in shaping our health, experiences, and even our genetic expressions, supporting the notion that love is a powerful, evolutionary force. As the Holomovement continues to engage and invite global stewards to co-create this culture of love, both science and spirit can offer foundational guidance. We’re now able to embark on this important transformative endeavor encouraged by scientific proof for what has long-been intuitive understanding.
The Science of Love: A Unitive, Evolutionary Perspective
The “Science of Love” aligns with a view of reality recognizing that all forms of life and matter are not only interconnected but fundamentally interdependent— each element exists as part of a grand, cohesive whole. This perspective shifts our worldview from one of separation and individualism to one of wholeness and collaboration. Our Universe exists and evolves as an entirely unified and innately sentient entity.
It meaningfully and purposefully exists to evolve, from simplicity to diversity, and toward ever greater levels of individuated and collective self-expression, self-awareness, and conscious interdependence.
Our embodiment of love as a species can be seen as innate to our conscious evolution. And, as an expression of this emergent journey, our planetary home, Gaia, embodies this love. Gaia’s continuing evolution is embodied in collaborative and synergistic relationships and dynamic co-evolutionary partnerships on a planetary scale.
We’re now recognizing that the conscious evolution of humanity may also be realized as an integral part of our planet’s own evolutionary progress and purpose. The Holomovement and other networks of networks are expressing
this evolutionary impulse and embodying this “co-evolutionary” partnership as love and wholeness in action.
Love in Action: A Strategic and Evolutionary Imperative
“Love in Action,” as advocated and advanced by the Holomovement, is more than a philosophy. It is a pragmatic strategy informed by these scientific insights, designed to bridge the gap between our current societal challenges and a future grounded in unitive consciousness. This approach aligns with the evolutionary impulse seen in global movements aiming to catalyze a profound shift from separation to interdependent well-being.
By integrating scientific insights with traditional wisdom on love, the Holomovement sets a foundational strategy for societal transformation. The concept of love, expanded through the lens of modern science and ancient knowledge, offers not just a theoretical but a practical pathway towards global unity and sustainability. Embracing “Love in Action” as both a personal and collective strategy is essential for navigating the complexities of today’s world, providing a blueprint for a future where love is recognized not only as a moral virtue but as the very essence of life and reality itself.
In this light, love is not just an emotion but the very basis of our coherent, living Universe. This is an invitation to reconsider how we engage with each other and the world, aspiring towards a truly unitive and harmonious global culture of love.
Finding Our Coherent Flow
The Holomovement’s Coherence-Building Strategy
To build and sustain a culture of love, the role of coherence is essential for fostering the sweeping momentum necessary for systemic change. Coherence, as understood in the context of the Holomovement, goes beyond mere alignment of intentions and extends into the realm of Love-in-Action—a powerful strategy uniting and harmonizing efforts across diverse scales and domains.
Coherence in any system, be it personal, cultural or global, is fundamentally about harmonious interaction and the seamless flow of information and energy. It is the state where every part functions optimally in alignment with the whole, leading to enhanced efficacy, stability and resilience. In the scope of human endeavors and planetary health, achieving coherence is paramount, especially in times of profound ecological and societal shifts.
The core team of stewards for the Holomovement engaged in months of coherence-building sessions to align both the team and the vision for how to move the ideas established in Sedona out into the world. A Holomovement Keeper of the Flame was established to hold space and set the energetic tone of all gatherings and events. It was a powerful reminder that coherence begins first with stillness and deep listening to Source.
It is the intention of the core team stewards to embody the ethos of the movement in every aspect, from administration and meeting agendas to visibility strategies, partnerships and speaking opportunities. The Keeper of the Flame creates an energetic frequency of love and coherence to proceed in this mission. By taking the time to align and elevate energetically, we can better engage and attract new members who resonate with and are ready to join the movement.
Nurturing the collaborative coherence of the Holomovement are five community values:
Ultimately, Love-in-Action and coherence are inseparable; each fosters and reinforces the other at all levels of transformative work. As a coherencebuilding strategy, Love-in-Action is essential for the successful navigation of our current global challenges. It enables us to transform the fabric of society, aligning with the deep, evolutionary trends that shape our world.
While love is at the core of this work, the Holomovement also honors 5 core values to nurture its community spirit. They include:
By embracing this approach and these values, every individual and community contributes to a grand, coherent tapestry of change, where love not only motivates action but also orchestrates the collective journey towards a thriving, sustainable future. Love-in-Action stands as a beacon of hope and a pragmatic strategy in the Holomovement’s mission, essential for cultivating the coherence needed to steer humanity towards an era of unprecedented unity, prosperity and positive change.
Strategies for Building Coherence through Love-in-Action
There are multiple ways the Holomovement and its stewards are creating and maintaining coherence within collaborative partner relationships and communities. These approaches are only the beginning as we continue to tap into the collective wisdom of our growing community.
Mindful Engagement: Volunteers, participants, and organizational partners are encouraged to engage in practices that enhance personal coherence, such as meditation, mindfulness, and HeartMath’s Quick Coherence Technique, which align personal frequencies with those of the larger whole. Consider appointing a “Keeper of the Flame” to hold space and set the tone at the beginning and end of a meeting, gathering or event.
Community Dialogues: Facilitating open, inclusive dialogues within communities helps to align goals, share visions, and integrate efforts, building a cultural and social coherence that mirrors the unity sought on a global scale. The Holomovement, in its partnership with Hylo, hosts monthly Ripple Effect online calls to establish trust within the community through “ask, give and gratitude”-themed discussions, as one example.
Educational Programs: Implementing workshops and seminars that focus on the science of coherence and its impact on personal and planetary health can empower individuals with the knowledge to act intentionally and cohesively. Stewards of the Holomovement and ProSocial World have partnered to amplify coherence by participating in the ProSocial Action Lab 10-week course, with plans to offer this opportunity to fellow Holon leaders in the future.
Collaborative Projects: Encouraging participation in Holon projects and other collaborations that require collective action, such as local clean-ups or global sustainability initiatives, can serve as practical applications of Lovein-Action, fostering group coherence. Through partnerships with established organizations such as the Choose Love Movement and Unite4Peace Coalition, the Holomovement message is amplified through new networks and audiences while supporting transformative projects already in motion.
Building a Culture of Love as a Second Order Change Strategy
The Holomovement’s transformative strategy centers on second-order change, fundamentally redefining how we address societal challenges through a lens of love and unity. This approach transcends traditional problem-solving by instigating deep shifts in worldviews, urging a collective movement from fragmentation to wholeness.
Our primary strategy, “Love-in-Action,” along with our four-part call to action—”Build a Culture of Love: See the Whole, Play Your Role, CoCreate with Soul”—champions this radical reevaluation of societal norms. It prioritizes collective well-being and harnesses the power of education, strategic partnerships, and community involvement to drive profound and enduring societal transformation.
Second-order change is not merely about altering behaviors but about revolutionizing the underlying assumptions and values that guide society. This type of change is deep, systemic, and irreversible, demanding a new way of seeing and interacting with the world—as a unified, interdependent whole rather than a collection of isolated parts.
The Holomovement embeds this shift into the core of our strategy, fostering a culture where love is not just an ideal but the foundational principle driving our actions and decisions. This strategic framework not only prepares us to tackle global challenges but also strengthens our collective resilience, adaptability, and personal sense of agency, ensuring that every initiative enhances our interconnectedness and elevates the human spirit towards a more harmonious and thriving global community.
Redefining the Foundation of Change through Love
Traditionally, change efforts have been problem-focused, confined within the limits of established ways of thinking and pre-existing frameworks. These conventional approaches tend to apply old solutions to new challenges, often reinforcing the status quo rather than challenging it. Traditional change often incrementally adjusts existing norms, rarely questioning the underlying values or beliefs that sustain systemic issues.
However, by making love a visible and driving force in societal actions, this approach calls for a radical reevaluation of those foundational beliefs. This isn’t about merely reacting to problems but about proactively transforming the landscape of change itself by empowering everyone as change-makers with personal agency and purpose. It is a profound shift from solving problems to transforming the conditions that create them, emphasizing proactive, lovedriven, purposeful action that moves society toward wholeness and harmony.
This strategy turns love from a private emotion into a public principle that guides decision-making and community building. It insists on a new worldview where love is the baseline from which all policy, educational, and community actions derive their legitimacy and efficacy.
Encouraging Profound Behavioral Shifts
Traditional models of change often emphasize individual success, competition, and material accumulation, with little regard for collective well-being. “Building a Culture of Love” advocates for a dramatic shift from individualism to a focus on collective prosperity and interdependent success.
Individuals see themselves as part of a whole system shift with meaning and purpose. This approach recognizes that true and sustainable progress is only achievable when it benefits everyone, fostering a society that values collaboration over competition and well-being over wealth.
Creating a Ripple Effect
Second-order change strategies like “Building a Culture of Love” are designed to initiate deep, pervasive transformations that go beyond immediate, visible impacts. This strategic approach fosters a broader cultural shift, where actions are inherently connected to elevating the human spirit and nurturing the planet. It’s about setting in motion a ripple effect of kindness, compassion and love that reverberates throughout society, inspiring further actions aligned with these principles.
Ultimately, “Build a Culture of Love” doesn’t just alter the surface of societal issues—it transforms the very heart of how society perceives and acts upon its challenges. This foundational ethos informs all decisions and strategies within the Holomovement, ensuring every step taken is imbued with the strength and coherence derived from a culture of love. This deep-rooted change is what makes it a potent strategy, promising a future shaped by love and guided by collective wisdom.
Integrating and Implementing the Four-Part Call to Action for Global Transformation
Together, these four parts form a comprehensive strategy for empowering a global Holomovement in our inherently living and dynamically evolving Universe. By seeing the whole, participants are awakened to the reality of our interdependence and the necessity of systemic change and whole system health. Playing individual roles ensures that the movement utilizes all available talents and resources, making it inclusive and effective. Finally, co-creating with soul brings the depth needed to maintain motivation and integrity within the movement, ensuring that actions align with higher values and long-term visions. They all work together making Love-in-Action a visible force for good on the planet.
Employed together, the primary strategy of “Love-in-Action,” and this comprehensive call to action can mobilize diverse groups towards a common goal, creating momentum that can elevate consciousness, shift behaviors, and transform worldviews on a global scale. This holistic approach not only addresses the immediate challenges but also sows the seeds for a sustainable, just, and flourishing future for all inhabitants of our planet.
To successfully implement this four-part strategy of action, it is crucial to maintain a flexible and adaptive approach that allows for emergence, iterative learning, and development. Metrics and regular assessment points should be integrated into the framework to track progress against the vision and adjust strategies as needed. Collaborative partnerships with Holons, organizations, communities, and global impact networks can enhance the scope and impact of the initiatives, driving broader systemic change.
By aligning these steps with a thoughtfully crafted framework for social change, the strategy becomes a powerful model for second-order change, capable of inspiring, empowering and equipping individuals and communities to actively shape a better future.
Future Protocols for Sustaining a Second-Order Change Strategy in the Holomovement
The Holomovement is poised to establish protocols that delve into the foundational levels of societal functions and perceptions, aiming to catalyze profound, second-order change. Here’s how these initiatives are envisioned to unfold across various dimensions in the future:
Vision Setting and Communication
The Holomovement intends to articulate and continuously communicate a compelling vision that projects a future aligned with an interdependent reality. This vision will inspire individuals and organizations globally to envision a radically different world where unity-in-diversity and collective well-being are at the core. By regularly broadcasting this vision through various media, the
Holomovement aims to keep its transformative objectives vibrant and active in the collective consciousness.
Education and Engagement
Future efforts will focus on developing and partnering with educational programs that challenge conventional wisdom and foster new ways of thinking aligned with second-order change. These programs will be accessible to all educational levels and adaptable to different cultural contexts, ensuring the principles of profound change permeate society deeply. Alongside these efforts, global campaigns that encourage individuals and communities to question existing paradigms and embrace new practices that align with the Holomovement, amplify its transformative goals.
Collaboration and Partnership Development
The Holomovement will seek to establish strategic partnerships and alliances across various sectors to multiply the impact of its initiatives. These collaborations will be designed for mutual benefit, aiming to co-create solutions and amplify the reach of transformational strategies. Additionally, it will actively involve communities in the co-creation process, ensuring that the change is grassrootsdriven and reflects a broad spectrum of perspectives and needs.
Innovation, Emergence and Adaptation
Innovation will be encouraged through the establishment of events, labs and hubs where interdisciplinary teams can develop new solutions that reflect a higher synthesis of knowledge and intuition. These events will operate as incubators for ideas that propel societal shifts. The Holomovement also plans to implement adaptive management practices that allow for rapid iteration and modification of strategies based on external feedback, emergence and changing conditions aligned with the evolutionary impulse.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
The movement will develop specific metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented changes and their alignment with the overarching goals.
Establishing robust feedback mechanisms will also be crucial to continuously learn from both successes and setbacks, ensuring the strategy remains dynamic and responsive to new information and evolving global contexts.
Leadership Development and Support
A major focus will be on cultivating transformative leadership and supporting leaders who are committed to fostering second-order change within their spheres of influence. Leaders will be equipped with unitive skills to manage the complexities of systemic change and inspire others to self-organize and join the Holomovement.
By integrating these protocols into its operations, the Holomovement aims to not only outline a clear path forward but also to ensure that its journey towards a harmonious and unitive world remains resilient, adaptable and deeply impactful. These structured approaches are essential for all self-organizing initiatives within the Holomovement to sustain momentum and effectively drive global change.
PART II: See the Whole
Awakening to Wholeness in Motion
A Wave of Possibility
The Holomovement’s call to action is: See the Whole. Play Your Role. CoCreate with Soul. It’s a rallying cry that is rhythmic and wave-like in the way it rolls off the tongue. There is also an intentional placement of each phrase. Each builds upon the other to ultimately support our global awakening to the threads that weave us together.
Guided by the underpinnings of cosmology, integral psychology and sociology, and the spirit of our many wisdom traditions, we explore how our wholeness in our interconnected web of life can impact lasting change. But what does it mean to “See the Whole” in the context of the Holomovement? What makes this first call to action so important in the building of a social movement that awakens us to our interconnectedness and inspires collaborative action, and how do we put this into practice?
First, the Holomovement is in joyful service to the good of the whole–not one specific demographic, or political party or geographic location. It is a vision that embodies David Bohm’s theory of the universe, as he shared in his book Wholeness and the Implicate Order (1980). In one poetic word, Bohm’s ‘holomovement’ described the oneness of consciousness. It was a single word describing a movement of wholeness and captures the essence of what the Holomovement is working to awaken in humanity.
To “See the Whole,” we realize and embrace our interconnectedness and kinship with all life. Our Universe is an extraordinary, conscious, living superorganism, and each of us is a vital part of it. The Holomovement is a vision of planetary thriving, a life of joyful and purposeful belonging energized by collaborative action for the good of All.
This is a sociological structure initiating a journey from “me,” to “we,” to “all as one.” For decades, this vision has been the life mission of countless individuals and organizations striving to transform the world. What makes the Holomovement unique is its call to gather this work into a unified movement— honoring the incredible gifts, wisdom and groundwork that’s already been laid. A wave of transformative action is rippling outward at this very moment, and the time is NOW to rally around this concept to create and amplify the coherence of diverse efforts around the world.
It’s All Connected: the Science and Spirit of Oneness
Our ancestors and universal experience have always known it to be true, and now science confirms: everything is connected. It’s a bold statement juxtaposing a definition of Oneness with our current planetary crisis of polarization. If this
is indeed our true definition of our Cosmos, how can we recover the thread of our interconnectedness? Where is the common ground that we can return to as a global family?
To find our shared essence of both the physical and spiritual world, we must start at the beginning - in Source. There are infinite names and definitions used for this primordial starting point. The Holomovement’s mission is validated by Bohm’s work and his description of Source as an ontological pilot wave giving rise to a living, interconnected universe defined as the ‘holomovement.’ This theory offers an explanation of how we can all be ‘one’ despite what appears to be a reality of separate beings.
Even Science and the Spiritual Wisdom traditions are finding common ground on this understanding of our interconnectedness. Bohm’s theory of quantum mechanics, proposed back in 1952, has since been vindicated by the Nobel prize in physics of 2022. The award establishes non-locality, which Bohmian mechanics requires, as a “fundamental feature of the universe.” It further
Dr. William Keepin, physicist and world religions scholar, explains the significance of non-locality as a “fundamental feature of the universe.
validates this concept of universal Oneness, bridging ancient spiritual wisdom with modern science and offers a sociological model for uniting humanity in our many pathways toward higher consciousness.
For most of us though, this theory is nearly impossible to comprehend intellectually, yet we inherently sense that everything is interconnected. Within the Holomovement’s “wholeness-in-motion” our many spiritual and material manifestations, in all their rich diversity, come from the same Source.
In the beginning, there were not simply elementary particles bumping around like billiard balls, but rather an initial primordial vibration. Something in the depths of the infinity of the Cosmos sent out a wave, the Source of all, that has carried us through both physical and cultural evolution in its undulating flow. In the flow of the holomovement, the Big Beginning of the Implicate order unfolds into materialism (Explicate Order). However, in Bohm’s theory, not everything was left to chance.
He proposed that an ontological pilot wave giving rise to the universe begins as deterministic but also allows for free will, a concept known as ‘compatibilism,’ allowing the two seemingly opposed concepts to intertwine. Thus, we venture to say that the Implicate Order coded the universe with a general plan, one that tends to meander as much as it progresses.
Cosmologically, psycho-spiritually and sociologically, the Holomovement is quite literally a movement of the whole towards Truth, Beauty and Goodness. Our earliest ancestors, with their close connection to the natural and spiritual world, understood the essence of unitive consciousness, based upon a purposeful universe. Now we are on a mission to merge the understandings of our wisdom traditions with our knowledge of quantum reality such as proposed by David Bohm, and fuse it into a worldwide movement for social renewal.
Catalyzing a Shift in Consciousness
We are beginning to realize the urgency of this call to serve in healing humanity and facilitate its transformation into a higher level of consciousness.
The good news is that the Holomovement is endemic to everything we do. It is consciousness flowing in the universe, through us and the manifestations of our souls. Thankfully, we don’t have to “find it” but rather slow down and drop into a mindful place of deep knowing and feel the force of love that weaves our humanity together.
Grand visions take time to root though, and the Holomovement is rippling outward both intentionally and patiently. Strategically, stewards have outlined specific ways to “See the Whole” in early Visibility and Engagement campaigns, as well as in partnership structures.
It’s critical that the community values reiterate a holistic understanding that merges the latest scientific breakthroughs with universal wisdom, spirituallybased teachings, and the wisdom of our hearts, acknowledging the true nature of reality as profoundly interdependent and unitive.
Much has already been done to showcase this thoughtful work to “See the Whole,” and strategic waves have been set into motion in a number of ways:
In the area of education, projects are in motion to develop curricula that combine the principles of David Bohm’s holomovement theory with ancient spiritual traditions, emphasizing the interdependent nature of our Universe.
It’s exciting to see this educational integration of Holomovement curricula in the early stages of implementation within the partnership with the extraordinary Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation and the Choose Love Movement. Their educational program “teaches educators and students how to Choose Love in any circumstance, and helps them become more connected, resilient, and empowered individuals.”
Alongside educational projects and partnerships, stewards of the Holomovement have also been launching multimedia campaigns. Video and social media content is being created to explain how new scientific discoveries about our Universe align with the teachings of ancient wisdom, illustrating the practical implications for daily life and policy.
In early 2024, stewards published their first animated introductory video titled “Holomovement: Everything is Interconnected.” Using informal and lighthearted animation and dialogue it is intended to educate the mainstream audience in what is possible through the holomovement and the sociological movement it has inspired.
This video, alongside a visually inspiring social media campaign, helps to explain what the Holomovement is and how to join.
Hosting and sponsoring events, festivals and conferences that bring together scientists, spiritual leaders, and educators to explore the practical applications of living in a unified reality is also an important strategy to awaken our interconnectedness. By participating and sponsoring a number of in-person gatherings, Holomovement team stewards have been able to make powerful connections and inspire enthusiasm and support for the movement.
One example of this engagement was at the 2024 Illuminate Film Festival held in Santa Barbara, California, where the Holomovement acted as a primary sponsor. It was an uplifting experience that allowed stewards to directly engage with a diverse audience of film enthusiasts, filmmakers and changemakers to introduce the wholeness-in-motion that aligned those in attendance.
A HoloMovie Award was presented, and a Holomovement Purpose Lab Community Event was featured, alongside panel discussions throughout the festival to highlight the vision and mission of the Holomovement in all of our purpose-driven work.
Digital and Social Media Campaigns utilize engaging digital content to spark global conversations and actions, facilitating broad dissemination of core principles. The Holomovement is made visible through professional campaigns hosted on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. There is also an online newsletter sent out to members of the movement.
In September of 2024, ChalkTalk for Peace was the Holomovement’s first major social media and digital engagement campaign, in collaboration with Unite 4 Peace coalition partners. On Sept. 21st, to celebrate the UN’s International Day of Peace, stewards invited communities to create sidewalk chalk art, spreading messages of peace, unity, and love–all values upheld in the Holomovement’s worldview of Oneness. Photos from individuals, groups and communities were submitted and shared on social media of their chalk drawings, and shown during the Unite 4 Peace global broadcast on Sept. 21st. Awards for the most innovative art design and community participation were announced.
An in-person event was also hosted in Sedona, Arizona featuring a professional chalk mural artist who created an interactive, 3D peace-oriented chalk design, and chalk for children, families and adults to add their own drawings and symbols of what peace means to them. It was a joy-filled experience embodying wholeness-in-motion.
An Inclusive Worldview
The Holomovement must actively include voices from marginalized or underrepresented communities to truly embody the “whole” that this vision seeks to realize. This involves diverse representation and creating mechanisms to ensure that all stakeholder groups, especially marginalized ones, are represented in their own planning, decision-making, and implementation processes of projects that represent relevance for their needs.
The Holomovement and its messaging and resources must also be easily available. This requires that tools, opportunities and communications are
accessible to people of different abilities, literacy levels, languages and technological access. The Holomovement is not just a U.S.-based movement, but a truly planetary phenomenon, and thoughtful strategies are needed to ensure all feel welcomed and empowered no matter the geographic location. A partnership with Home for Humanity reflects this commitment to fostering an international movement, as they boldly begin a seven-year journey starting on Sept. 21, 2024, to help build communities of action throughout the world.
By inviting individuals and groups to See the Whole, we not only begin to shift our collective consciousness but also inspire substantial, sustainable impact across all facets of society as love becomes a force for positive change. In Seeing the Whole, our transformative wave begins to build momentum.
The Holomovement’s 8 Unifying Principles
An Inclusive Vision to See the Whole
Global transformation requires a cooperative network stretching out beyond our current silos ofinterest groups and individual efforts. We need a new philosophy for humanity that bridges religions, race, nationality and cultural values. As such, there must be a natural draw pulling us towards this unifying concept. This is known as a holotropic attractor, which brings people together and simultaneously creates a regenerative outward ripple effect of new energy that will increase the force of the attractor.
To help clarify the nature of the attractor, stewards have outlined 8 core principles to propose a coherent and inclusive vision within the philosophy of the Holomovement. Alongside these foundational tenets, we also call upon the wisdom traditions to guide us in their long-held understanding of wholeness in our interconnected web of life. By embodying these principles, we can begin to explore the nature of this Holomovement as it draws us toward unity and accelerates the evolution of both our individual and collective consciousness.
Holomovement 8 Core Principles:
1. Interconnected Wholeness.
Although dazzlingly complex and multidimensional, the Cosmos is a single, living process, profoundly interconnected and sacred in its Oneness. All knowledge systems, including science and spirituality, exist to discover and express the reality of this interconnected wholeness and arise from our innate curiosity to explain the implicate order and are, at their essence, potentially in harmony with each other.
2. A Conscious Living Universe.
Dynamic and alive, the universe arises from a source of consciousness, offering meaning to every component of our interconnected wholeness. The “difference” between spirit and matter is a question of frequency, density and the degree of bonding, but they come from the same Source.
3. Purposeful Evolution.
Oneness is evolutionary in its conscious awareness of existence, engaging in a purposeful evolution of its own nature. Over time, the cosmos, the Earth and all living things develop increasing levels of complexity, interconnectedness, consciousness and cooperation.
4. Wholesomeness as Our Natural State of Being.
All of reality, including individual beings and social and cultural systems, tend to be attracted to health, wholeness and the mutual flourishing of life and consciousness. Seemingly “evil” motives and behaviors are not fundamental to human nature, but rather arise from an unbalanced state when materialism and a sense of separation dominate human consciousness.
5. A Self-Healing Cosmos.
Our existential civilizational Meta-Crisis (of climate, culture, society, economics, and more) is naturally coinciding with a widespread awakening of virtuous social projects, analogous to an immune response.
These contrasting forces, or levels of consciousness, although challenging, offer the necessary impulse to propel our ongoing evolution.
6. Embodying the Holomovement.
Bohm’s term “holomovement” describes how undivided wholeness is expressed in every seemingly separate entity, event and action. “The Holomovement” is an apt name representing the diverse sociocultural movement toward a just, fulfilling and sustainable human presence on Earth in accordance with the cosmological parameters of the physical universe.
7. Unity in Action.
The Holomovement is an inherent expression of the endemic nature of reality and amplifies the pull of collaborative coherence that simultaneously awakens individual purpose to discovering how it can also best serve the good of the whole. Especially needed now in all interpersonal relationships at all levels of society are social justice principles that support and the collective well-being, such as equality between men and women, balance between wealth and poverty, freedom from all forms of prejudice, and justice that is unitive, not punitive.
8. Self-sustaining Development of Unity Consciousness.
The Holomovement, like the universe itself, emanates from a spiritual Source that defines the action of the undivided cosmos working to reassert health and wholeness in the face of what appears to be fragmentation. As individual human beings become increasingly conscious of their connection to Source and discover a deeper sense of their own purpose in connection to it, they are naturally motivated to improve their psychological outlook and build communities with likeminded people drawn to the shared values of truth, beauty and goodness of the holotropic attractor. Thus, a positive feedback loop naturally arises in the development of individual consciousness as it gains an intuitive understanding of a self-reinforced unity consciousness, where individual purpose flourishes as it discovers ever better ways to contribute to the collective well-being of humanity.
It is not our intention to claim that we have a final understanding of the Holomovement and the best strategy for igniting a critical mass of awakened leaders. It is with humility that we acknowledge that our words are only the beginning of a new exploration into the meaning of human existence.
As we set out on this evolutionary adventure, guided by both science and spirituality and propelled by a sense of purpose, let the Holomovement serve as an attractor in creating the coherence needed to work unselfishly together and unify our transformative efforts for the good of the whole and the evolution of humankind.
Calming the Collective Water
Embarking on a Journey from Grievance to Gratitude
We are a global community of innovators, change-makers, compassionate individuals, businesses and nonprofits drawn to creating a better world. The Holomovement is ALL OF US. The Holomovement is also all of us that find ourselves struggling to embody and trust our interconnectedness. This work is dynamic and life-long, but as stewards of the Holomovement, we believe we can ignite a critical mass of collaborative action serving the good of the whole.
The Holomovement invites us to re-discover our sense of awe and wonder in our evolutionary unfolding. It is time to put the tiny yet powerful stamp of our contribution into the flow of the Cosmos. In knowing our wholeness, we can embody what it means to give compassionately and generously in a way that nourishes and supports “me AND we” and ultimately, the cosmic ALL.
Even in this beautiful vision of unity, our collective journey toward wholeness will be a challenge. We are being asked to practice in every moment what it means to embody our evolutionary potential. As we contemplate the state of our world today, it is our hope that the Holomovement acts as a call to action in finding and embracing our collective purpose for the greater good of the whole.
This is our critical moment in human history to join together in the audacity of heralding and embracing a unified field of consciousness. There is much to be cautiously optimistic for, despite the polarized state of our world and ongoing environmental tragedies. It’s this deeply seeded sense of hope in our transformative potential that has inspired the collaborative effort within the Holomovement.
The journey from a vision of a world filled with peace, love and understanding, to realizing and living these values, isn’t without its challenges and complexities. Among many obstacles is the weight of our individual and collective suffering. So many have suffered horrific injustice and trauma and we’re in a quagmire of
past and present conflict. How can we release these emotional chains anchoring us in fear, anger and separation?
Having a regular practice for healing and access to nourishing support is essential. Our evolutionary choice depends on how we show up in our day-today encounters. Forgiveness and connection require a belief in the possibility of our ability to move forward with purpose as we release our grievances.
Can we find the courage to drop the weight of our trauma and choose a path ahead that’s not defined by what separates us, but rather, feel empowered by what unites us?
Shifting Focus from Collective Trauma to Collective Purpose
Consider the karmic baggage of human history. With the exception of a few moments in time, we have a history of horrific and brutal treatment of one another: war, extortion, violence, etc. The timeline of trauma we carry through our generations alone is extraordinary. If there is anything that we can understand in one another, it is suffering. We have all suffered.
Unfortunately, mainstream news and social media feeds have us believe we are in a competition of tragedy and injustice. Their narrative is that love is a limited resource and compassion is finite and even naive. Through the lens of materialism, it can seem that we must pick and choose who is most deserving of justice. But love is not finite, and compassion is sourced from an eternal well. Fortunately, the Holomovement is a gathering point for the many who understand this and put love into action as their life’s work. If we are to save ourselves and this planet, the roads we traverse must find their way back to a unified field.
On this most important journey, the question remains: are we guided by an agenda of personal or cultural retribution, or called to build bridges toward our interconnectedness empowered by compassion?
With so much at stake for humanity, where and how does the healing even begin? The suffering and accompanying grievances are present, and our energy needs to be cleaned and healed if we are to have hope of moving forward as a species.
By listening deeply and holding a safe space for hurt, rage, and, ultimately, deep vulnerability, we can begin to re-construct our sense of self and our relationships to trauma and explore what it means to be an authentic expression of our true self within society. In these experiences, we can begin to recognize the commonalities we share in our personal stories and realize that something unites our infinitely different faces of suffering—a shared spiritual horizon.
It’s an ongoing practice to find our own way to release our grievances, heal our karmic field and transform as one humanity, working in harmony for the good of the whole. Empowered by the collective frequency of the Holomovement, we can find we’re all empowered to find and move from a place of love.
Releasing Our Cherished Notions
Parallel to this important practice of healing our hearts, we must also consider how to liberate our minds from habitual thought-patterns and “cherished” beliefs that stall our collective realization of our inherent wholeness.
The 7th Unifying Principle of the Holomovement is Unity in Action. This principle reminds us that the Holomovement is an inherent expression of the endemic nature of reality and amplifies the pull of collaborative coherence that simultaneously awakens individual purpose to discovering how it can also best serve the good of the whole.
This is especially needed at this historic time. Unity and compassion within our interpersonal relationships, at all levels of society, are required to realize equality between men and women, balance between wealth and poverty, freedom from all forms of prejudice, and justice that is unitive, not punitive.
Unity in action is only as impactful as the relationships we build. This is not “unity in action with only those in our sector or my political affiliation, etc.” Global transformation is difficult and challenging work when we all have deeply held beliefs and ideas of what is to be cherished and the best way to proceed.
David Bohm’s work as a physicist inspired the Holomovement and its vision of our sociological embodiment of wholeness-in-motion, but his curiosity and beginner’s mind also give us an example of what is required of us within this transformative movement. He shares:
“What is needed today is a new surge that is similar to the energy generated during the Renaissance but even deeper and more extensive; … The essential need is for a “loosening” of rigidly held intellectual content … along with the “melting” of the “hardness” of the heart. … The “melting” perhaps could be called the beginning of genuine love, while the “loosening” of thought is the beginning of awakening of creative intelligence. The two necessarily go together.”
Embracing A Beginner’s Mind for Creative Solutions
Our current cultural and environmental crisis certainly isn’t because of a lack of passion for changing the world. The challenge lies in the reality of maintaining momentum and cohesion within dynamic groups between and among so many diverse sectors of society. When we all have personal visions of humanity’s
potential, real impact and action will only find coherence when we come to the table with open-minds, curiosity and a lightly held notion of what is the best way to proceed.
It is in our “loosening” of intellectual content and our willingness to drop our most cherished notions, whether these are intellectual, spiritual or political, that we can begin to radically collaborate in infinitely creative ways. Opening ourselves up beyond the habitual thought-patterns and beliefs sourced from our ego and finding courage to connect to our larger human experience, we realize that one cherished value we can use as our North Star is that of unity for the greater good of the whole.
Our dear friend, the late Terry Patten, reminds us that “Our inherent desire to serve wholeness and health in part expresses something deep and transpersonal, our social mycelium ... Thus, although we certainly continue to be citizens of communities, cities and nations, we also become citizens of something broader and deeper.»
Committing to Radical Cooperation
Make no mistake, this journey is a life-long practice in personal and collective growth. Even in this endeavor we can find inspiration from Bohm. William Keepin, PhD, physicist, environmental scientist and co-founder of the Gender Equity & Reconciliation International project writes of Bohm in his Foreword to The Holomovement anthology:
“For those of us who were privileged to meet and interact personally with David Bohm, two qualities stood out strongly: his genuine humility, and his deeply earnest temperament. Bohm most wanted to engage with others on a shared quest for truth, wherever it might lead. May we all adopt this same spirit of deep humility and earnest inquiry, as we embrace the wonderful spectrum of ideas...”
No matter how small or insignificant any individual may feel, we all contain an image of the whole, because we are the whole and it is us. Likewise, we contain the information stored in the whole. The whole flowing movement is holographic.
As with any holographic image, we see a new dimension that we never thought could exist. When we “witness” ourselves from a state of higher consciousness–in meditation for example–we create a holographic view of who we truly are. We are neither the ego battling for recognition, nor our highest self that represents the ultimate destination of our soul’s evolution. We are the multidimensional interference pattern formed when the physical sense of ego-identity reconnects with the soul’s Source. We are the vibrational harmony heard when our base ego sings in tune with the higher frequency of our cosmic self.
The holomovement is the process of Source experiencing itself, appreciating who it is and how to evolve into ever higher frequencies of consciousness. Our work within the Holomovement, as a sociological movement, gives us the opportunity to live in this ever-expanding, self-witnessing consciousness of our universe with an open mind and heart, and strive to suspend cherished beliefs and perspectives, even if only temporarily, in order to open to new ideas and perspectives.
PART III: Play Your Role
The Holomovement Theory of Change
Accelerating Humanity’s Highest Potential
The world needs each of us and our unique talents and gifts to enable a transformative tipping point. Every moment is an opportunity to tune in to our true callings and activate our purpose within the whole.
When we See the Whole, the natural shift in our perspective is toward how we, personally, can nourish and enhance our interconnected experience. “Play Your Role” emphasizes the importance of individual agency and responsibility. The Holomovement is a dynamic interplay of our diverse contributions in creating a world that works well for all beings. Every member is called to create and activate change through a lens of deep, personal, and soulful purpose.
Playing your role is about recognizing personal strengths and how these can be leveraged for collective well-being. The key to creating this global transformative tipping point, and the Holomovement Theory of Change, is found in the equation for quantum physics E=hf.
Taking a bit of creative freedom, the Holomovement Theory of Change interprets this equation through the sociological framework of impact. ‘E’ symbolizes the energy generated from the impact of our decision to act; ‘h’ represents intention of compassionate action for the greater good; ‘f’ stands for the frequency of our consciousness and spiritual connection that coheres in love and Oneness.
This reveals how with enough action, informed by higher consciousness, we can create a world that works for all.
Unlocking this transformative change lies within Planck’s constant, the input of action in E=hf. Whether we are conscious or unconscious of our actions, our energetic waves are already rippling outward with their effect. The Holomovement is calling for each of us to consciously become the h factor.
Planck’s constant (h) is also fundamental to the advanced formula for angular momentum—the force that pulls a spinning object outward and into the future. If you have had the joy of swinging on a tether pole (or called a swing ball pole in other countries), you’ve experienced the thrill of spiraling outward until you dared to let go and flew through the air. Applied to the context of the Holomovement, we’re being called to take the leap toward our creative potential and joyfully fly into purposeful action.
Purpose within Community as the Holotropic Attractor
The Holomovement presents us with the opportunity to look to the future and move into the “we space” and explore our unlimited potential. This is our moment to propel our evolution onward and upward as inspired by E=hf.
Even for those not inclined to be emotionally inspired by scientific equations, there is reason to feel optimistic in the ways the Universe conspires with us to realize our mission. The holotropic attractor to this Theory of Change is the ability to offer actionable purpose while simultaneously building community within this movement. The Holomovement is set into motion through self-organizing Holons, groups of three or more individuals engaging in community action within a framework of the Holomovement’s unifying principles.
The undivided wholeness of the universe is composed of holons, which are simultaneously both individual parts as well as the whole itself. Holons are like a holographic image. We can chop a holographic image into the tiniest of pieces, but it will still convey an image of the whole. The Holomovement Theory of Change takes its inspiration from our very own Cosmic building blocks and encourages small groups of people to self-organize into “Holons.”
This collaborative network of Holons is an expansive, creative ecosystem accelerating humanity’s highest potential. Within the Holomovement, each Holon has an opportunity to collaborate and co-create with fellow groups, creating an exponential wave of impact and a critical mass of positive action. These micro-movements of collaborative Holons merge and synthesize into the sociocultural action of global change.
Imagine the flourishing and thriving of a planet where our global family is in flow acting with compassion, purpose and co-creative spirit. We each have a frequency that is activated when we take some sort of action, and these actions and energetic waves will in turn attract and synchronize with others to amplify the Holomovement. Empowered by Planck’s equation E = hf, we can better understand how we are innately supported at the quantum level to participate and activate a transformative shift. That is the essence of the Holomovement Theory of Change.
Finding Our Purpose
Playing Our Role for the Good of the Whole
Nelson Mandela said, “There’s no passion to be found in playing small–in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” We have unlimited potential within ourselves and embarking on a path that honors each of our callings is fundamental to the Holomovement. To play our role we are tasked in the sacred work of realizing and embodying our soul-based purpose.
Once we are attuned with our true inner self, we can explore what really resonates as a deeply felt “YES!” in our authentic way of being. This inner knowing acts as a beacon, leading us down the path toward purposeful living. In a quest to lead more people into this extraordinary life experience, stewards of the Holomovement teamed up with LightNet, a pioneering research platform that “studies how people do impossible things and then shares the data with the world.”
In the months following the Sedona and Holomovement Wave convergences, team members interviewed and filmed 100 people from all walks of life to talk about the tools, methods and tips that helped them to find their purpose. These stories and discovery methods were then put into a unique database to find patterns in how someone can be supported in finding their own purpose.
The Holomovement Purpose Lab
The Holomovement Purpose Lab, in partnership with LightNet, is an evolving story showcase, database and community space to inspire people to find and live their purpose and passion. Consider how it might look in our daily lives if each of us was clear and empowered by purpose to play our role for the good of all beings. We have become curious about passionate, purpose-driven people because they seem to radiate freedom, flow and lifeforce energy. They seem to be tapped into something bigger than themselves.
What our research has discovered is that courage is at the heart of this journey. Stepping outside of our comfort zone brings us alive and piques our curiosity, creates new neural pathways and seeds new creations in the world.
Scientific research also suggests that when the heart is in heightened states of purpose and love, strange things happen. People who are experiencing true feelings of love leave a signature in the frequency spectrum of the heart on ECGs. Brainwaves can become entrained with the heartbeat, meaning they can pulse at the same pace and in the same phase. Does love and purpose somehow bend the reality around us? The stories of the incredible people interviewed for the Holomovement Purpose Lab definitely make one wonder.
Many of the people interviewed for the Holomovement Purpose Lab reflected on how they felt something had been missing despite their immense material and professional success. CEO tech millionaires, award winning professors, singers with big record label contracts and NFL players all shared how the temporary rewards of status, merit and money were hardly comparable to the deep satisfaction that came when they began living their soul’s calling.
Purpose seems to have a powerful way of galvanizing human intention into easeful creation. Based on the research of the Holomovement Purpose Lab and the collective intelligence software of LightNet, patterns are arising in how to accelerate the sacred work of finding purpose. The collective wisdom of the Holomovement was merging with the latest technology to create a DIY database of resources.
In October of 2024, this database was gifted to an inaugural cohort of 100 people participating in the Holomovement Purpose Lab Teams of 8-12 program. Individuals, looking to awaken their purpose, were placed into small teams to join weekly meetings on Zoom for 8 weeks. Every highly interactive session was personalized by an expert team guide. Results of the second phase of the lab will measure if the hands-on experiential process was successful, and if so, for how many.
Imagine if we could condense 30 years of seeking and confusion into an 8-week program to realize our purpose. “Team Holomovement” would grow exponentially in members ready and passionate to take loving action to play their role. We might not have the answers today, but we can already learn from the inspiring people who have found and are living their truth. Each Monday, since its launch in May of 2024, the Holomovement Purpose Lab also broadcasts a global podcast to feature inspiring people who have found their purpose. To date, the Awakening Your Purpose podcast reaches over 1,600 listeners each week with over 17,000 downloads of the podcast as of August 2024.
Creating a Personal Practice to Play Our Role
Unfortunately, finding and embodying our sense of purpose seems to be frustratingly elusive when viewed through the lens of our cultural values. Material wealth is the current metric in which we measure our value, and we’ ve been duped into believing success and happiness are linked to our net worth. Human consciousness has been high jacked by rampant materialism. Our soul’ s calling has too often been reduced to a whisper.
We long for purpose and meaning, but these materialistic habits distract us from awakening to our true spiritual essence. To find our footing on a path of purpose, it’s essential we are engaging in the important work of creating inner harmony within ourselves. It’s time for a spiritual revolution from the inside out–one that is ignited by peace and love and manifests in purposeful social action.
The link between personal and social transformation cannot be ignored. If we don’t feel good, we can’t play our role in sharing the vital gifts we all have to instigate co-creative solutions. It’s imperative that we engage in personal practices that help us balance and center in a place of peace. What’ s more, when we’re able to find and return to this core essence of ourselves, we’re also more likely to get in touch with our true purpose. Once we begin to know and feel our way into our sense of purpose, we in turn become more peaceful.
This positive spiral of personal evolution reinforces our personal development and allows us to move out in the world from a peaceful and purposeful place. This is the key to successfully shifting our society toward one of unity and cooperation. Throughout history there have been cultural revolutions, yet we’ re still struggling to give people their basic needs, freedoms and services required
for human dignity upon which a transformed society can be built. Anger and frustration can sometimes fuel a movement, but it is love and compassion that will foster and sustain true transformation.
The wisdom traditions have said there have been three great miracles in the history of humanity: the birth of the universe, the appearance of life and the dawn of human self-reflective consciousness. And now through the course of human history we’re at the cusp of the fourth miracle, making the turn from the materialistic paradigm and into the consciousness paradigm of purpose, connection and innovation. It really plants in our minds this idea that we can collectively affirm a new way forward–that we are a healthy and thriving species living in harmony with the most beautiful and abundant planet known to humankind.
Within the Holomovement, we’ve been given the honorable task to be a part of one of the most important moments in human history. The next steps we all take as individuals will shape our collective transformation as a planet and species. As Picasso once said: “The meaning in life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
It Starts With Us
Putting Personal Purpose into Community Action
The Holomovement ignites transformative action by igniting purpose. To experience and radiate the Holomovement Effect elevating our collective wisdom, each of us must play our role. As the Holomovement tagline reminds us: “It Starts With Us.”
We’ve outlined a number of ways we can get to work in finding, or even rediscovering, our purpose. Now it’s time to put this purpose into community action. The Holomovement is not a rigid structure dictating what this looks like, but a welcome mat to the many doorways ushering us into the transformative party.
Immerse yourself in the co-creative spirit of the Holomovement and explore four of the ways you can participate and connect.
Act in Solidarity
We don’t have to be an organizational leader or member of a Holon group to be a valued member of the Holomovement. It is equally as powerful to make a personal commitment of solidarity toward the movement to initiate momentum.
For members still searching for their Holon tribe, or how they might be of service as they discover their purpose, the first step can be signing the “I am the Holomovement” declaration of solidarity. By signing this declaration, we affirm our commitment to co-creating a flourishing and thriving planet, where our global family is in flow acting with compassion, purpose and collaborative spirit. No matter where we find ourselves on this transformative journey, joining and aligning with the Holomovement and its vision elevates the collective frequency of the movement.
Playing our role and joining the movement also offers each of us a way to:
● Enhance our personal callings, while amplifying our collective potential
● Access extraordinary resources, shared wisdom, connectivity and support both on our Hylo online community and in-person experiences
● Participate in co-creating a transformative movement awakening us to our interconnectedness
● Collaborate with individuals and groups across all sectors and global communities
● Find camaraderie and community that is joyful, compassionate and aligned by wholeness.
Join or Register a Holon Group
Holons are simultaneously parts and the whole, so they hold that paradox that is the most fascinating aspect of holistic understanding and holography of how you can be both the part and the whole simultaneously. We’ve adopted this idea of holons then to form small groups, they can be bigger groups, but a minimum of three people to take action. Considering the depth of the crisis of our time, action is of the utmost importance. It’s time to do something. Talk less, act more.
Inspired by our cosmic building blocks to accelerate transformation, stewards of the Holomovement have activated a community of self-organized groups of Holons. Those inspired to play their role as a Holon member can join as an individual or register a group, organization or social network already activated. This is the first step in playing our role within an interconnected community.
To create the ecosystem for holons and individuals to organically connect, stewards of the Holomovement partnered with the team at Hylo, an open source project stewarded by Terran Collective. The Holon Global Hub was created as an online hub where individuals and holons can come together to connect and share their experiences, joys, wins, and achievements with the broader network.
Transformative action can take the form of many endeavors. Our hope is that through joyful and conscious collaboration, these projects will support a healthy and thriving future for all beings. Projects of all scopes and timelines are valued in the Holon community, as well as projects already in motion that are aligned with the Holomovement’s core principles.
Here are just a few examples of Holon projects aligned in purposeful action:
Holomovement Meditation Circle
Community park, beach or trail hike clean-ups
Regenerative farming or permaculture projects
Mentorship programs or other nonprofit organizational work
The Holon Global Hub is not just a new social media platform, it’s an intentional space for building a conscious community. To help foster the trust and cocreative potential of the network, monthly calls are hosted each month inviting members to participate in unique virtual experiences to connect, collaborate, and grow together.
These free, community online calls, guided by a Holomovement steward team member, include:
Monthly Welcome Experience
The Welcome Experience is designed to build deeper relationships, expand intercultural understanding, and foster trust for co-creation for all members of the Holon community, as well as those interested in exploring how to get involved but have yet to find a Holon group to join.
Ripple Effect
The Ripple Effect is a monthly gathering where people can mutually offer and receive on-the-spot support within our trusted Holon community.
Hylo Community Call
Connect with diverse, global communities, share insights, and learn about Hylo’s latest features as we grow in stewardship and global cooperation. This is an exciting opportunity to meet action-oriented folks who might not have connected yet within the Holomovement’s Holon Global Hub.
Enroll in a Holomovement Program
Building a culture of love is a practice. There are many ways we can all continue to learn and entrain with the frequency of the Holomovement effect. Stewards have put particular focus on ways to offer resources and programs that elevate the energetic frequency and embodiment of love-in-action.
Programs like the Holomovement Purpose Lab Teams of 8-12 or the Holomovement Wave convergence, act as entry points to engage with the movement. The aim is to increase the offerings and the accessibility to tap into the Holomovement’s diverse, collective wisdom needed for personal growth and social action.
Become a Partner
Collaboration and reciprocity are hallmarks of Holomovement progress. Official partners are engaged with the Holomovement in an exchange for mutual benefit. For example, the Holomovement Core Team provides human resources, marketing support, and access to the Holomovement member
ecosystem of organizations, while a potential partnership may offer an official service to the Global Holon community, a new “interconnectedness” education program to the public or a co-branded collaborative action project within a specific region.
At this stage of the Holomovement evolution, the call to partner is not an application for funding, though we’re open to the possibilities of collective finance and new models of monetization across our ecosystem. At this time, stewards of the Holomovement are looking to partner on endeavors that:
● Are immediately actionable
● Are resourced
● Are made better by collaboration
● Benefit the whole
Let’s dream big together. We want to hear your ideas on how we might naturally help one another while elevating the whole Holomovement ecosystem.
PART IV: Co-Create With Soul
Aligning Communities of Impact
Facilitating a Cultural Evolution with Clarity
The phenomenon of a movement is initiated when we’ve gone through something uniquely individual only to arrive at the “aha” moment that we share this transformative path with an entire community. Surrounding ourselves with people willing to embark on this evolutionary journey is vital. However, this isn’t simply a numbers game.
A movement must also resonate and facilitate coherence if it is to catalyze a cultural shift in values. The Holomovement is the common ground for seeing a new paradigm of joyful collaborative spirit; a base camp for those facilitating our cultural awakening.
Two Kinds of Communities Affecting Cultural Evolution
The Holomovement is a movement of many, and it is important to have an understanding of how our communities sustain or evolve our values. Author and psychotherapist, Adam Crabtree, describes two kinds of communities that affect cultural evolution: Natural and Interpretive.
Natural communities are often long-standing, traditional cultures in which most of us have some affiliation. Often, they would have originated as collectives evolving out of the need for group survival. Within any type of natural community, its cultural beliefs have deep roots in traditions and social norms that initially bonded the group and offered support and identity.
Over time, however, the cultural perspective within natural communities can stagnate. Rather than ongoing evolution of the original ideals and values that formed these cultural groups, the agenda morphs into one protecting a rigid definition of cultural identity and self-preservation.
This can happen within all communities, governments and civilizations if the cultural conditioning and assigned values first upheld by the majority
aren ’t consistently re-examined. What originally began as a set of dynamic ideas supporting the good of the community can become outdated as needs and ideas evolve. In the name of cultural preservation, the populist mentality unfortunately shifts its energy to self-preservation, often for the few, rather than in favor of progress and well-being for all. When that happens, it is time for an interpretive community to emerge.
Interpretive communities, as Crabtree explains, are gathered around members of natural communities who no longer resonate with the values and traditions of their natural community. These members will split and reinterpret the original, institutionalized ideas to uphold what they felt had been lost or missing.
We can trace these emerging, interpretive groups in a variety of sectors, and specifically in almost every religion. In Western democratic culture, we can find additional examples of evolving cultural values. Just as the civil rights and the woman’s suffrage movements birthed interpretive communities, a new generation of leaders continue to create groups rallying around an ongoing examination of specific political, environmental and social justice ideals.
It’s important to remember that interpretive groups aren’t culturally evolved by default and forming new communities to jumpstart our cultural evolution doesn’t happen without intention. The Holomovement is the gathering point for these interpretive communities who share the values of love, tolerance and cooperation for the good of the whole. This doesn’t always mean a complete disregard of all the values of a natural community, but rather a fusion of tradition with emerging values. Knowing how communities can evolve and/or stagnate helps guide its members to be mindful of what is serving the Holomovement and what is ready to evolve and shift within the culture.
Sustaining a Transformative Community
Gathering together a group of like-minded individuals is an exciting launching point in a movement. The real challenge comes in sustaining and facilitating an ongoing spirit of collaboration and creativity once a community forms. Our current cultural and environmental crisis certainly isn’t because of a lack of passion for a cause. The hard work comes in maintaining momentum and
cohesion within these dynamic groups. Just as we require energy and good health to function at an optimal level as individuals, our interpretive communities also rely on an energetic frequency and health checks in its group dynamic.
Exercises in deep listening, shadow work, conscious practices–as individuals and as a group–are important. As is an ongoing re-examination of the community’s purpose to affirm that the mission and vision of the group are aligned. As more people join a movement, a welcomed sense of diversity in personality types and perspectives enhances the wisdom of the collective. This brings a new level of creativity to problem-solving but can also challenge group dynamics if communication isn’t in flow.
There’s no perfect method for coherence or an outline of what exercises result in the best cohesion of a group’s framework. What is important though is setting aside time for periodic sessions when the goals of the community are reviewed, as is the group’s dynamic and needs. This can help clarify the intentions of the group and renew community spirit.
Holon leaders and group members are encouraged to take the necessary time to get clear on their goals and outline them in their onboarding process, a resource shared with all leaders in the Global Holon Hub (and included in the resource section of this book). Finding clarity in the purpose and process of a group project from the start allows for coherence as more members are drawn to the community.
It’s critical that the stewards and Holon members of the Holomovement also maintain a vision of ongoing reflection and inquiry into what is driving the culture to avoid stagnation. Important questions to ask ourselves and articulate in writing include: What is this community about? What do I do here? What is our common thread?
Again and again, these new cultural values must be revisited and motivated by a love and connection to the global family. This can be approached as a sensing and responding exercise to celebrate what’s working and correct course where necessary.
The Holomovement team stewards understood this complex challenge and partnered with ProSocial World to learn from their extensive research and experience. By participating in the ProSocial Action Lab in the Autumn of 2024, stewards gleaned insight on sustaining and fostering collaboration within the team and exponentially among the Holon network, core partners and beyond.
Finding Our Collective Song
Fresh ideas and energy are essential to evolving a transformative group, as are the sometimes mundane but critical day-to-day administrative tasks involved if any vision or project is to have a lasting legacy. But let us not forget what’s at the core of the Holomovement: Love in action and joyful service for the good
of the whole. This is sacred work, and also an opportunity to create fun and delight wherever possible!
Sometimes, well-defined solutions aren’t the only valuable way forward in amplifying impact. It is also in remembering our collective song that will give us momentum in this ongoing transformative movement. This notion is beautifully described by French novelist Muriel Barbery in writing about the experience of singing in a choir:
“Every time, it’s a miracle. Here are all these people, full of heartache or hatred or desire, and we all have our troubles and the school year is filled with vulgarity and triviality and consequence, and there are all these teachers and kids of every shape and size, and there’s this life we’re struggling through full of shouting and tears and laughter and fights and break ups and dashed hopes and unexpected luck–it all disappears, just like that, when the choir begins to sing….
So when they sing a cannon I look down at the ground because it’s just too much emotion at once: it’s too beautiful, and everyone is singing together, this marvelous sharing. I’m no longer myself, I am just one part of a sublime whole, to which the others also belong, and I always wonder at such moments why this cannot be the rule of everyday life, instead of the exceptional moment, during a choir. When the music stops, everyone applauds, their faces all lit up, the choir radiant. It is beautiful. In the end, I wonder if the true movement of the world might not be a voice raised in song.”
Envisioning a New Frequency of Collaboration
The Trajectory of the Holomovement
Studies show that data is only 10% of the influence on our decision-making process. What truly formulates our worldview is our tribes, communities and social structures we move within. We aren’t going to transform and draw people to collaborate within the Holomovement with data and impassioned engagement campaigns alone; we have to tug at the emotional heart-strings and embody the highest frequency of love in all we do.
There is a magic to this movement. At its foundation: love and compassion. In its principles, an honoring of each of our unique gifts and meaning that contribute to a collective purpose to create a world that works well for everyone. Not only does the Holomovement awaken our interconnectedness and purpose, it is a well of collective wisdom that supports the joy of co-creating solutions from a place that is authentic and dare we say, divine?
Since igniting in Sedona in 2023, we have met and spoken with filmmakers, physicists, business people, individuals from all walks of life and countries all over the world attracted to the Holomovement. So, what’s the secret sauce to catalyze a critical mass within the Holomovement? A core team of stewards of the Holomovement have spent over a year outlining the tangible next steps to answer this very question.
The “How” of the Holomovement
The Holomovement’s ultimate goal is to nurture, support and empower individuals, groups, organizations and networks to embody a frequency of love that allows for everyone to see the whole, play their role and co-create with soul. Each component of this four-part vision is equally important to the success of the Holomovement.
Throughout these pages we have touched on the “what” and “why” of the Holomovement and its purposeful vision for our global family. Now how do we put this grand and bold vision into reality?
To connect with, educate and mobilize an impassioned critical mass to bring about social change we have outlined four key tactics: Network Support, Events & Experiences, Media & Visibility and Education. This strategy is at the core of making the Holomovement visible to the mainstream population, and informs the future campaigns, programs, projects and partnerships of the Holomovement. We can see this approach illustrated here:
The Holomovement Strategy Matrix acts as a guide for how anyone can engage their personal purpose or organizational mission to join the movement. This empowers a global network of high-frequency change-agents to participate in endlessly unique and creative ways.
The matrix serves as a framework for a model superorganism, where all members contribute to the whole by engaging within a circle of trust that is committed to embodying love, cultivating interconnectedness, catalyzing purposeful action and facilitating co-creation. It is also an effective way to answer the clarifying question; “Why are we doing what we are doing?” Being able to reference how a network, organization or project can align and amplify the Holomovement allows for creative expression and coherence in vision.
There are numerous examples of how this is being implemented within the Holomovement, and specifically in supporting the Holon network. If we consider our partnership with Hylo, we see how they arrive at the strategy matrix at the “Network Support” column.
Hylo is a “community-led, prosocial coordination platform for purposedriven groups.” Moving through the four-part calls to action, we see how this partnership elevates the movement in each area.
Hylo is a major player within the Holomovement’s Network Support in its ability to:
1. Embody and build a viral culture and frequency of love through its open-source social platform. Hylo features a “resilient constellation of relationships marked by trust and accountability, with clear agreements
including protocols for decision making, distributing resources, and handling conflict.” This partnership was a launching point for activating the Holomovement’s Holon Global Hub and network.
2. Cultivate an expansive and interconnected perspective in its use of technology and social sharing to distribute the Holomovement vision and values throughout its online platform. Hylo is similar to other social media platforms in its content sharing structure, however, there are no algorithms or advertising to dilute the values of the community.
3. Ignite transformative action through its supportive community stewardship and monthly Holomovement Welcome Calls and Ripple Effect Experiences. By gathering members of the Holon community on monthly calls, stewards in Hylo help build a culture support of purpose-driven work. Members in the Holon Global Hub are able to receive and offer resources and support to put their purpose in action.
4. Catalyze and facilitate exponential collaboration for the Holomovement Holon network. Acting as the online hub for the Holon community, Hylo’ s partnership has allowed the Holomovement to support and connect the extraordinary leaders and groups already engaged in transformative work. Co-creation is made possible when relationships outside of our specific silos and sectors are bridged together within a larger landscape.
This is just one of many examples of how the Holomovement Strategy Matrix invites and empowers collaborative change. It decentralizes the work from simply being a core team strategy to one where diverse communities around the world are empowered to co-create the creative trajectory of the Holomovement.
The Holomovement as a Movement Vs. Organization
It’s critically important to reiterate that this work being done is in the service of a movement, not as an organization. As early adopters of the Holomovement vision, this requires a spirit of experimentation and inventiveness. Like any project, there are administrative tasks, financial obligations and leadership roles that are required to successfully launch and sustain operation.
The big “We” is already within and a part of the Holomovement. What the core stewards of the Holomovement are passionately involved and working toward is the awakening of our global family to the beautiful wholeness already in motion. The four-part approach is not solely for the core team to implement, it is a template for anyone ready to join the movement. This sacred work will not happen under a single banner, but by millions of individuals and groups around the world. Movements define success globally, igniting sweeping positive change for everyone rather than a select few organizations or communities.
There are no boards of directors or team bios on the Holomovement website. This is deliberate in the understanding that the movement itself is the leader, and we’re working on behalf of a vision aligned in values, strategies and action founded in love. The Holomovement is supported from the inside out–first by those most involved and most directly affected and passionate about the vision, and then in concentric circles of communities rippling outwards in impact.
We are learning as we go, with the understanding that a strategy (like the one outlined above) can and probably will change and evolve. In a movement, form follows function. As our global needs change, we must remember to stay agile and creative to sustain transformative action.
Our collective calling is to co-create with soul. By taking strategic steps, we have the infinite potential to harness collective co-creativity, collaboration, and wisdom to develop solutions that are not only effective but also resonate deeply with the community’s soulful values and needs.
A Trajectory of Possibilities
Ideas and opportunities abound for how this wave will ripple outward. Possible future projects to amplify the Holomovement’s transformative reach include a Global Ambassador Program, Artist in Resonance opportunities, virtual Wave events, documentaries and more. It’s what makes the Holomovement so thrilling.
In the months and years ahead, there will no doubt be course corrections and evolutions, milestones and mistakes. It’s an audacious statement to affirm a
social movement transforming the world. Are we as a collective up for the challenge?
Everything that has led us to this moment, and all that’s in motion for the year ahead, is a testament to a whole-hearted “yes” in our collective enthusiasm for this vision. From a spark ignited in the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona to a wave rippling out from the island of Ibiza, Spain, we see a growing community passionately joining us in the flow of the Holomovement. We are standing with love. We are moving with purpose. We are co-creating evolutionary magic.
It starts with Us.
Epilogue
Sensing and Responding as a Collective Movement
Coming together to awaken the world, so to speak, can feel like a daunting challenge. So often what gives us a sense of hopelessness or despair is the thought that we can’t do anything to change the circumstances. But what if we flip the switch of self-imposed limitations? Let’s think in cosmic terms that we ’ve been invited to this singular moment in human history as co-creators.
As it was once said, there’s nothing more powerful than a great idea whose time has come. What a gift that 14 billion years of evolution has led us to precisely this point. The invitation has arrived asking us to heed the call to shift our global consciousness toward love and collaboration, on a scale in which we ’ve never seen. This blessed work fulfills us all and draws us together to understand and embrace our collective purpose.
The Holomovement is the tide that carries our transformative momentum. Throughout these pages, we’ve explored the principles and strategies to build a culture of love and collaboration for the good of the whole. However, all the strategic planning and data won’t sustain the Holomovement if we forget to ask ourselves the most important question: Are we embodying love and responding with compassion, or are we living an illusion of separation and reacting in fear?
Embodying a frequency of love requires us to sense into our energetic state through daily inquiry: “How am I responding in my everyday life? What are my thought patterns? How am I treating myself?” This is the practice; transforming our heart space and amplifying the Holomovement Effect.
As fellow stewards of the Holomovement, we are all in the lifelong ebb and flow of sensing and responding to how the Implicate Order is informing the Explicate Order. When we are living in our highest self and transmuting a love frequency of the highest compassion and kindness, we are expansive in our transformative capacities and in flow with our interconnectedness. When we are attentive to our connection with the stars, the trees, water, our human
family and “more-than-human” kin, we can’t help but take loving action for the good of the whole.
The transformative ripple effect is set in motion in the moments when we are able to look at a fellow human being and say; “I’m holding you in the highest potential” and at the same time, maybe not like their actions (or really dislike their actions), but embodying that frequency all the same. So much of our thought patterns are in a mode of duality, categorizing our experiences with “This is good; that’s bad. I like this; not so much that,” and on and on. We do this with people, ideas and experiences. The work within the Holomovement is to integrate wholeness into our daily life.
It is a practice in exploring the complexity of a moment, and uncovering the essence that, at the very least, acknowledges the threads that weave us all together. In seeing this field of Oneness, we are co-creating an ecosystem where we all flourish.
The Holomovement is bigger than any one individual, and sensing into these patterns allows us to collectively respond with a higher frequency. We’re learning as we participate and co-create. As a core team and within partnerships, the ongoing inquiry of what is working and what is not serving is helping to evolve the partnerships and resources to support the Holomovement. We are practicing patience in not trying to overbuild too quickly, and also noticing when there is momentum to explore and expand. We are focused on tending and amplifying our energetic field of love and collaboration.
Sensing is always first. It’s the vital role of the Keeper of the Flame to invite and curate these sacred spaces to listen to what is ready to unfold. It is incredible how the Universe supports the community when we all stop to listen. We are, after all, cooperating with ourselves, our communities and with Source. It’ s in this collaborative spirit that we can find our way in working together on a sincere and deep authentic level.
We are all ambassadors of the Holomovement, radiating the principles of higher frequency that help guide our human family to greater action and greater impact in the world. This is the Holomovement at its boldest. It’s the shift in human consciousness that is ignited by each of us making an important choice: to love.

Starting a Holon: Guidelines for Onboarding your Group
You’ve decided to set up your group on Hylo. This is a big moment! Before you jump into Hylo, let’s map your purpose, agreements, and network landscape. When you start with a clear invitation that lets people know what they’re getting into, people show up ready to collaborate! After we clarify the invitation, you can enroll your group members in developing shared culture, values, priorities, and structure.
It’s also OK if you don’t have it all figured out ahead of time, let’s walk through it together.
Step One: Know Your Group/s
Use this Spreadsheet to map out your Group structure, as we go through the next steps.
This is the foundation of your community! Spend a little extra time here mapping out your Groups to ensure that your members have an amazing experience.
Consider making this process a collaborative effort with your group’ s founding members.
Step Two: Identify your Group’s Purpose
It’s important to identify a group’s purpose and create a mission statement outlining your community’s goals. This will be a central pillar of collaboration within your group, articulating the culture of your community, and the value of being a part of it. Get as specific as you can!
Users want to know:
● What is this community about?
● What do I do here?
● What is our common thread?
Once you have this information, drop it into the Spreadsheet.
Step Three: What are your Group Agreements?
Identify your values, priorities, and how you will treat each other. You don’t have to have it all figured out, but it’s a good idea to develop agreements early in your group’s life. We lean on the Prosocial framework which is designed to support groups in aligning interests and achieving their goals.
Step Four: What is the Landscape of your Group Ecosystem?
Prior to setting up Groups on Hylo, Group moderators should identify the landscape of a Group’s ecosystem. For example, is your Group a singular entity or does your group contain several working groups/small pods? How do different parts of your group connect and relate to each other?
A unique function of Hylo is the nested network structure, allowing groups to be nested in other groups, creating a larger network of groups.
Step Five: Identify Group Stewards
Identify the early adopters who will help steward your group! Group stewards or moderators are an essential part of an online community, determining its purpose, vision, and values, and setting the ‘container’ or dynamics of the group.
Bring these organizers and leaders together to co-create the foundation of your group and maintain a thriving community on Hylo. You can read more about Group Moderation here.
A Blueprint for Holomovement Gatherings
Introduction: The Power of Community
Imagine stepping into a space where every element—from the art to the music—invites you to feel inspired and connected. These spaces are catalysts for change, amplifying our collective creativity into transformative action.
This guide offers suggestions for how you might create an event or environment that harnesses this collective power. When we come together with shared intentions, in a space that nourishes our potential for co-creation, we can create ripples of change that extend far beyond the gathering itself.
Preparation: Setting the Stage
1. Choose the Space: Select a venue that radiates beauty and calm, filled with inspiring art and comfortable seating. The environment should feel like a sanctuary, a place where creativity and connection can flourish.
2. Curate the Vibe: Music is a powerful tool for setting the tone of your gathering. Choose tracks that uplift and resonate with the energy you want to cultivate. Arrange the space to encourage openness and interaction, with areas for group activities.
3. Create a Welcome Invitation: Your invitation should be more than just logistical details; it should be a warm, heartfelt message that explains the purpose of the gathering and invites your guests to co-create the experience with you.
Opening: Inviting Collective Presence
1. Welcome Guests: As your guests arrive, greet them warmly. Make sure they feel seen, valued, and part of something special. A simple thankyou for their presence sets the tone for mutual respect and appreciation.
2. Set the Intention: Clearly articulate the purpose of the gathering and the evening’s activities. This is not just about setting an agenda; it’s about aligning hearts and minds towards a common goal. Consider having a Keeper of the Flame to hold sacred space during the gathering and open and close with a guided meditation to create energetic coherence.
3. Introduce a Practical Example: Share an example of a person or project that embodies the Holomovement Effect in action. This could be a community initiative, an innovative project, or an individual who exemplifies the principles you’re discussing. Invite them to share their story, offering a tangible demonstration of the power of collective intention.
Engagement: Fostering Connection and Creativity
1. Interactive Discussion: Pose thought-provoking questions to the group that challenge conventional thinking and invite participants to explore new perspectives. For example: “How can we bring more wholeness into our daily lives?” or “What does radical collaboration look like in practice?”
2. Collaborative Activity: Facilitate an experience that encourages participants to collaborate on expanding the concept of a project or discussion topic. This could be a musical brainstorming session, a creative workshop, or a group meditation. The goal is to generate ideas, feedback, and support for one another’s contributions.
Closing: Integrating and Expanding
1. Reflection: Invite participants to share their thoughts and experiences from the gathering. What insights have they gained? What ideas are they excited to explore further? This reflection helps to solidify the impact of the gathering and allows everyone to leave with a sense of purpose and direction.
2. Gratitude: Thank everyone for their contributions and participation. Gratitude is a powerful way to close the space, acknowledging the collective effort and the energy that each person brought to the gathering.
3. Farewell: End with a shared moment of collective participation. This helps ground the experience and leaves participants with a sense of unity and empowerment. A short group meditation or moment of silence can be a powerful way to reflect on the deep wisdom that has been shared and offered.
4. Post-Gathering Follow-Up: After the event, send a thank-you message to all participants, sharing any notes, recordings, or summaries. Create a space for ongoing dialogue, such as a social media group or regular meet-ups, to keep the momentum going.
