You will find also a brief presentation of our group and some useful information and tips about our area. The residential market is constantly evolving and becomes more global. After difficult years, confidence in the property market is back and strong positive signals can be seen in the number of deals with some reporting moderate price rises in prime locations. Brexit, currency and Italy’s political landscape have inevitably affected both buyers and sellers sentiment toward their holiday home. ordighera is one of the most elegant town of the West Liguria region with its long beach and promenade, ancient town and mild climate. The beauty of the city led our last Queen, Margherita di Savoia, to choose Bordighera in 1879 as her holiday residence. Also known as “City of Palms” thanks to a religious hermit called Ampelio, who at the beginning of V cent. arrived from Egypt with some date palm kernels. He is now the patron saint of Bordighera, in whose name an outstanding church was erected directly on the sea. The golden age of the city came in the 19th cent. when the low city is constructed next to the “Corniche” road and the sea which attracted English tourists. The tourist interest in Bordighera seems to have been sparked by a novel from Giovanni Ruffini, Il Dottor Antonio which was published in 1855 in Edinburgh and featured the town. In 1860, the first hotel of Bordighera was opened, at the time it was named in French: “Hotel d’Angleterre”. Situated less than 45 minutes driving from the International Airport of Nice, Bordighera has always been an attractive destination for Italian families coming from the near Piedmont and Lombardy thanks to its beautiful seaside and pristine clean sea, which has always been awarded with the Blue Flag. Furthermore, its strategic position close to the Maritimes Alps allows to reach the nearest ski resort - Limone Piemonte - in about one hour driving. Bordighera is a lively town all year round, quiet and never chaotic. Ospedaletti became famous all over Europe when in 1860, the Russian Tsarina Maria Alexandrovna decided to pass her holidays here enjoying the sub-tropical vegetation and mild climate. All the aristocratic families followed in the subsequent decades and in 1881 the first casino in Italy was opened, Villa Sultana. From 1947 to 1951 Ospedaletti was home of a Formula 1 Grand Prix and saw the best pilots of that era such as Nuvolari, Fangio and Ascari. The street circuit remained open until 1972 with motorcycle competition.
