C80: double resolution for geared motors Geared traction motors require accurate, rugged, vibration-resistant and long service life encoders for improving the car comfort and reducing the maintenance costs, at the highest safety levels. This well-known hollow shaft encoder is today available with a double resolution, thus a single device fulfils a dual purpose: 1024 ppr for speed and position feedback in geared traction motors and 100 ppr for detection of unintentional car movement. It offers a very robust die cast enclosure with IP65 protection rate and a precise optical sensing technology. Furthermore it boasts an extended operating temperature range (-40째C +100째C).
