The smart encoders adopt the POWERLINK interface! Lika Electronic introduces a complete range of standard 58 mm encoders with POWERLINK, the Ethernet communication interface. Robust magnetic and high resolution optical versions, singleturn and multiturn resolution, solid and hollow shaft mechanical design to solve the most diverse needs. Due to the ever increasing popularization of Ethernet networks and communication protocols in the modern industrial automation systems, the range of Lika Electronic encoders based on Ethernet technology is growing steadily. Following the EtherCAT and Profinet versions, the new POWERLINK series complements Lika’s portfolio. POWERLINK is the standard described in IEC 61158-13 and bases on the Ethernet communication. Nowadays this industrial fieldbus system is universally recognized for its fully open protocol, the very high performance, especially for data exchange in real time and high speed (100 Mbit/s), its reliability and safety for precise synchronization and data transfer and the structure specifically devised for the integrated automation. POWERLINK can be also referred to as “CANopen over Ethernet” as it implements the DS301 profile and the standard CANopen objects: integration and even migration are easier and faster. It further guarantees deterministic communication, very short cycle times and ultra-low jitter. Versatility is the key feature of the comprehensive POWERLINK range.
It is available either in low cost 27-bit resolution multiturn EM- series with robust magnetic sensing; or in high resolution singleturn (18 bits) and multiturn (30 bits) H- series with optical sensing for demanding applications. Furthermore it is designed in a complete selection of mechanical models: it is possible to choose the solid shaft version with 6, 8, 9.52, 10 and 12 mm (0.24”, 0.31”, 3/8”, 0.39”, 0.47”) diameter and servo or clamp flange mounting; or the blind hollow shaft version with 14 and 15 mm (0.55”, 0.59”) diameter. The industrial 58 mm flange enclosure provides IP65 protection and allows for work temperatures between -25°C and +85°C (-13°F +185°F). Standard M12 connectors help installation and avoid errors. Straightforward diagnostics and LEDs bring another advantage. Don’t forget the Ethernet-based Modbus TCP new encoder series launch next September!

It is a piece of cake to set up the new SFA analogue draw-wire encoder. You just need to press two buttons to make it immediately ready to work!
SFA is not merely the new cable-pulling encoder from Lika Electronic with analogue signal output and increased measuring lengths up to 5,000 mm (196.85”) and 10,000 mm (393.7”). It further adds a great operational advantage: it is very easy to set up and really requires just a few seconds in order to start operating. Two buttons in the enclosure (or two external inputs, as an alternative) allow you to easily set the analogue range by defining the initial and final limits of your application stroke (TEACH IN). Whatever the travel you need to measure, it will be scaled automatically in the available analogue range. Two LEDs next to the buttons help during setting. SFA offers the complete variety of voltage and current analogue signals: 0 to 5V, 0 to 10V, -5 to +5V, -10 to +10V, 4 to 20mA, 0 to 24mA and 4 to 24mA. The number of information is up to 226 (4096 counts/rev x 16384 rev) with a 16-bit analogue resolution and ±0.04° accuracy. It adds the OVERRUN function to warn that the axis is beyond the travel limits. Cable and M12 connector options are both available.
Build with premium-quality and rugged components, SFA is ideally suited for use in typical industrial applications (construction machinery, outriggers, stabilizing slides, telescopic cranes, booms in utility vehicles and mobile equipment, forklifts, loading and work platforms as well as electro-medical equipment) and is aimed at reliable operation in dynamic systems with speeds up to 2 m/s (78.7 inches per second). Installation is very simple and fast, even in more constricted spaces, and ensures perfect interchangeability with SF-I and SF-A series models. The cable-pulling mechanism has been redesigned and is now able to reach increased measuring lengths up to 5,000 mm (196.85”) and 10,000 mm (393.7”). The new draw-wire range includes the SFE programmable incremental version and the SFA absolute version with SSI interface. CANopen and EasyCAN fieldbus interface models will be brought out next months.
