day for women to be inspired and empowered, the annual 9B Ladies Event returns to the Kootenai River Inn on Friday, March 17. Held 9am to 4pm, just 50 tickets are available to this day focused on women—with this year’s theme of “Empowerment.”

This is your chance to enjoy a day of workshops and speakers and support our local ladies in business.

“We focused this year on women empowering women,” says Jennifer Van Etten, who organizes the event.

For those interested in a booth to sell your goods or services, booths are free this year with your prepaid ticket. (This offer is valid to the first 10 ladies who wish to do so; no holds or refunds for no-shows.)

The morning will kick off with Debbie Heiser, teacher, connector, inspirer and healer, who will do a three-hour interactive workshop, in which she will tell stories and discuss money and sales.

Afterward, author Carolyn Birrell will discuss the launching of her book, “Walking with Fay,” and speak a bit about her road to becoming the woman she is today, as well as entrepreneurship.

Guests will also have the opportunity to listen to Julie McLeish, Reiki Master and holistic health coach.

“We always choose our speakers as to their benefit to the community,” affirms Jennifer. “Local women are always encouraged to share their stories. Attendees will be treated to delicious light snacks throughout the day, including a Taco Bar lunch. At the end of the event, all attendees will be given a beverage ticket to enjoy a social hour with light appetizers and good conversations. There will be door prizes and raffles throughout the day as well. All ladies will take home an incredible swag bag too.

On Saturday, March 18, all Bonners Ferry Farmers Market vendors, both those returning and new, are encouraged to attend the Spring Vendor Meeting to hear all about the plans for this year's market. Anyone interested in selling at the market this year, be sure to attend for additional information and/or to apply to be a vendor. Community Dance Night

A community event for all ages, don't miss an evening of dancing and fun at Community Dance Night at The Historic Pearl Theater. Instruction is included in a variety of dance styles, including swing, polka, reels, social and country line dancing. Enjoy family friendly fun, with all levels of dance experience welcome. GROW! Community Potluck

Held on the fourth Thursday of the month, GROW! invites the community to join them at 6pm on March 23 for their Community Potluck. Held at the Fellowship Hall in Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, the March potluck will feature Board Member and Professor Emeritus Gray Henderson, who will lead a discussion on enhancing your garden soil and soil testing. All are welcome to attend these potlucks and learn more about GROW! Bring a dish to share with six to eight people and enjoy the camaraderie with other gardeners. Bellydance Extravaganza Performance

Enjoy an evening of music, dance, glitz and glamour as Ashley López, an internationally touring artist and instructor, takes to the stage of The Historic Pearl Theater on Saturday, March 25. Bonners Ferry Easter Egg Hunt

Each year, the Saturday prior to Easter Sunday, Bonners Ferry families and their children excitedly gather at the Boundary County Fairgrounds, with smiles on their faces and Easter baskets and buckets in hand, waiting in great anticipation for the hunt to begin. And this year is sure to be no different, as it will once again make its way to the fairgrounds (located at 6571 Recreation Park Road in Bonners Ferry) on Saturday, April 8. The hunt begins promptly at 11am, so don’t be late.

Every spring, several young women of Bonners Ferry practice valuable skills, gain unique experiences and receive professional guidance that will help shape their path to college and well into adulthood, thanks to the Bonners Ferry Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program. The program will take place starting at 6:30pm on Saturday, April 29, at the Becker Auditorium, with tickets to go on sale the second week of April. Be sure to purchase your tickets and show your support to these Distinguished Young Women of Bonners Ferry.
