In response to recent corporate accounting scandals, U.S. legislation has increased accounting and regulatory requirements. As a result, there is increasing recognition for the value of forensic accountants. The Forensic Accounting Major at Franklin University gives you the tools you need to become a skilled specialist in forensic accounting and the related litigation advisory services. This major allows you to promote a fraud-prevention culture in your organization, while also developing a foundation of knowledge for professional certifications, including the Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), paving your way to success in this growing profession.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow 22% by 2018. And according to a 2008 report by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), most occupational fraud is accounting-related, resulting in an increased demand for accountants who can identify and eliminate fraud.
