This is the studio that I would like to present. It is the special project. Thai architecture studio is an interesting project that I have to study. What is the Thainess in my opinion and what is the Thai modern architectue. Before this studio start, I had to study about Thai and Asian architecture to know the root and origin of this and how it change when the time pass. Thai architecture can represent the abstract of Thai for example traditional, culture and religion to be a
concrete that people can realize by art or architecture. In term of decorative detail, ornament, structure and so on. everything can show and we can touch the spirit of Thai by sense and feeling. So Thai architecture can show in many type depend on the artist’s style or showing something that artist want to present this is Thai. I went to many place in the old history town of Thailand to see the Thainess and found the main idea. On this project I
had to work with Varit Lapjaratsangrot , Sanugoon Phakdee and Chayapat Lertpanyaroj. So we have to discussing about What is Thai that we want to show. And we found Thainess is tranquility, peaceful and made people to calm down and know the spirit of mind. We found the things that can made tranquility space in Thai architecture. First, Rhythm in Thai architecture. Rhythm can separate space from public to private by void, wall and tree etc. Thus, the elements
can made an enclosure space. Second, Lightness is the special charactor that can represent the Thai architecture. Structure, ornament, empty space can made space to be a tranquility and feel light. Last, Deviding space by wall, structure, proportion. This also can made people have a perception of tranquility. Then we used these elements to design for TACC. (Thammasat Art and Cultural Center) in the theme of Thai modern architecture.
