SILHOUETTE ‘Trend forecasting is much like archeology but to the future.’ -Li Edelkoort, Trends Union

These two shots are my favourite out of them all. These were two amongths many as it took a lot to get these in my opinion perfect shots. My ground and I’s aim was to capture a silhouette style shot whilst getting the vibes of London, Canary Wharf. To improve this shot I would change the model’s clothing. For example, you can clearly see she is wearing red, I believe all black would have worked better for this type of shot.


WHAT IS IT?

Trend forecasting is like predicting the future, and you shouldn’t start by looking at fashion - you should start by looking at fashion - you should start by looking at shifts in society, culture, tech, visuals arts, politics, film and trend in other industries. The people that use Macro Trends are: Fashions brands, marketers, buyers, product developers, ad agencies and product designers.

PURE TRADE SHOW


“PURE London UK is the most anticipated fashion trade show that is held over three days in the spectacular central London Venue, Olympia London.�


The PURE FASHION show was a really enjoyable experience for me as it gave me an insight to the world of buyers in the fashion industry. I got to see all sorts of labels and buisess smal and big - it was fascinating to see how they advertise their clothing garments to the buyers as it’s different to how you see it advertised to the general public.

INDESIGN WORKSHOP Although this was a very simple lecture I really enjoyed it as it helped me fully understand how to use InDesign. After the workshop straight away I saw a positive change in my work, it had much more complex and detail. Salma was very patient and helpful - It was much easier having somebody speak you through step by step in person rather than veiwing a tutorial online,

During this Lecture we met an ex vogue photographer named; Ralph Hall. This was my favourite lecture because it was not only insperation to meet someone who has worked for such a worshipped brand in the fashion industry but I also learnt so much. I discovered things I never would have thought of and whilst carrying out my trial photoshoot, my group and I found ourselves trying out completely new things. I also realised that not everything has to be on point and planned to perferction because some of the best photographs and fashion shoots of all time were taken by accident.

I had so much fun not just creating a website for @WHYTEFITNESS, but also the behind the scenes and everything that came with it. For example the photoshoot was probably my favourite part and in order for that photoshoot to be a success lots of thought and planning went into it. I also loved creating the social media side of things and have full control over that - the brand I chosen wasn’t very active on any sites such as instagram, twitter etc therefore I created a brabd new feed and set up Twitter, Youtube and Facebook accounts, I am proud with the overall outcome of my WHYTEFITNESS website and can’t wait to do something like this again in the future.
