SUMMIT & SALUTE
EVENT OVERVIEW WBENC’s Summit engages participants in a two day program filled with a focus on the future of various industries, business networking, and development opportunities. The Salute follows the Summit and is a festive evening that highlights our 2016 America’s Top Corporations for Women Business Enterprises. The Summit occurs on March 21 – 23, 2017 in New Orleans, LA. The Salute! Dinner will take place on the evening of March 23, 2017.
DAY ONE // TUESDAY MARCH 21 Some of the pre-Summit activities include the Women’s Enterprise Forum Meeting and the WBENC Board of Directors Meeting. The registration desk is open all day; if you registered online be sure to stop by and pick up your program bag and event materials. Onsite registration is also available.
IMPORTANT NOTE: WBENC National Committee Meetings have been scheduled for Monday, March 20, 2017.
DAY TWO // WEDNESDAY MARCH 22 The Summit officially begins with the Procurement Opportunity Meet & Greet in the morning. This session is designed to allow WBENC-Certified WBEs to position their companies, products and/or services to participating National Corporate and Government Members. No appointments are required and all WBENC-Certified WBEs with a full Summit & Salute or Summit Only registration may participate. At the Stars Celebratory Luncheon we will reflect on 20 years of WBE Stars – where they are today and how far they have come. This is sure to be a great trip down memory lane for all, showcasing many inspiring women business owners. Day two afternoon activities consist of the first round of future forward workshops where attendees will learn from visionaries from corporations around the WBENC network. Be sure to plan your workshop strategy so you can maximize your time and attend as many of these sessions as possible. The day will conclude with the Welcome to New Orleans! Reception and Silent Auction where we will continue our celebration of 20 years of WBENC WBE Stars.
DAY THREE // THURSDAY MARCH 23 The morning starts off with WBENC’s signature 1:1 MatchMaker meetings. This is an opportunity for WBENCCertified WBEs to have pre-scheduled appointments with National Corporate and Government Members and their prime suppliers/key business partners to explore 1st, 2nd and 3rd Tier sourcing opportunities and learn how to be considered for these opportunities. WBENC-Certified WBEs who register prior to the January 23, 2017 Early Bird deadline are eligible for participation. NOTE: 1:1 MatchMaker appointments are extended by the participating National Corporate/Government Members based on their current interest and supply chain needs. WBENC cannot guarantee that all eligible WBEs will be extended a 1:1 meeting. After the 1:1 MatchMaker meetings, a second round of future forward workshops will be held. There will be many industries and topics to choose from. These engaging sessions will be followed by a Keynote Luncheon, a program that is sure to inform and inspire. After lunch the final round of future forward workshops will be held and the Summit will conclude. The evening festivities will include receptions to get everyone in the celebratory spirit before heading to the Salute! Dinner, where we will culminate our time together by honoring our America’s Top Corporations and other special individuals, with a few surprises on the agenda. When the dinner program concludes, it is time to look forward to Las Vegas in June at the Post Salute Party!

The National Conference & Business Fair is the largest conference of its kind for women business owners in the U.S. The WBENC National Conference & Business Fair is attended by Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs); senior executives and procurement representatives from the Fortune 500 and the U.S. Government; and select partner organizations whose missions align with WBENC’s vision of expanding women’s business opportunities in the marketplace. With three days of robust programming, the conference features lectures and presentations from today’s thought leaders, engaging panel discussions, 1:1 MatchMaker sessions, networking receptions, and a notable Business Fair.
DAY ONE // TUESDAY JUNE 20 The conference starts Tuesday at the energetic Kickoff Luncheon. The day is filled with opportunities to attend different programs designed to engage all attendees. The day concludes with the Welcome Reception where attendees can network. This will be one of many opportunities to bid on a variety of exciting auction items.
DAY TWO // WEDNESDAY JUNE 21 The second day of the conference is centered on the Business Fair. The morning starts with the Business Fair Breakfast and Opening Ceremony. Throughout the day, attendees explore the Business Fair floor to discover opportunities with over 300 exhibitors, exchange ideas and connect with each other. PARTICIPANT TESTIMONIALS
“The Tuck-WBENC Advanced Executive Program was life changing. I am a business owner, but I was never trained on how to actually manage a growing company. The top-notch professors from Tuck and the professional team at WBENC helped me learn more about executive leadership, accounting, excellent customer service, and why it’s so important to work with other WBEs. I also met a fantastic network of women that will be my advisors and friends for many years to come. Thank you WBENC for offering such a wonderful development opportunity.”
– Laura Gross Scott Circle
“This has reignited my passion for reaching out to WBEs locally to connect, network, and engage to move our Regional Partner Organization to the next level as a B2B resource for our individual and cumulative growth, which will ultimately benefit each business owner, our RPO, and our Corporate Partners!” – Gail Moore Custom Plastics and More
“The program enriched my leadership, gave me new perspectives, and grew my knowledge base by leaps and bounds. The quality of the program exceeds what is presently available for executives as it gives a leader five days to learn, reflect, collaborate, and take your leadership to a new level when you are willing to stretch your beliefs. My organization’s success will be accelerated as a result of being in this program. It is a ‘must-do’ for any leader driven by the greater good of business and leadership.”

“One of the many benefits of WBENC is the Dorothy B. Brothers Scholarship. I was awarded this scholarship to attend the Tuck-WBENC Advanced Executive Program, where I gained insights into my leadership, methods to grow my company, and made new, lasting relationships with other WBENC entrepreneurs. The Dorothy B. Brothers Scholarship made my decision to attend the Tuck-WBENC Advanced Executive Program effortless.” – Darby Bruno BEI Net.works
“Having the opportunity to attend an Executive Program at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University developed my self-confidence to create strategies for reaching new clients and deepening my relationship with existing ones. The program provided exceptional teachers who coached us through the thought-provoking curriculum, as well as ongoing networking opportunities that I know will open a wide range of doors to an exciting new path to the future.” – Barbara Bosha Bosha Design + Communications
“The Dorothy B. Brothers Scholarship provided me with an amazing opportunity to attend a week-long Leadership and Strategic Impact Program at Dartmouth Tuck School. I found the ability to step outside of my company and gain insight into the theory behind operating a business to be invaluable. I left the program with solid action steps and significant insights for managing my business including the 360 degree feedback I received from my team. I am most appreciative of the Scholarship, and the opportunity it provided for me to look at my company, my team, and my management approach with a new perspective.” – Gayle Piraino GAP Promotions LLC

GROWTH & SUSTAINABILITY FUND WBENC is pleased to share with you that on January 1, 2017 we will open a restricted funding account that is being structured to allow WBENC to address short to mid-term needs for Access to Capital for Certified WBEs who meet specific funding criteria. Through our work the past 5 years supporting the National Women’s Business Council, WBENC has learned a great deal about the Access to Capital barrier that challenges growth of women-owned businesses. While we understand that Start Up and Early Stage capital are challenges, we believe WBENC’s place is to focus on the barrier around the niche of expansion and growth capital. The initial launch of this fund will focus on mentorship around growth. As funds are accumulated we will begin to provide answers to financial capital needs.
