Sayembara Rumah Bersubsidi PUPR Public Housing Design Competition PUPR
BAKGROUND DESIGN Due to the housing back log in Indonesia, Ministry of Public Works and Housing holds public housing design competition every year for architects to help them providing creative solutions. SITE ANALYSIS The site is located on Subur Baru Street, Tambora, Jakarta Barat. The land use is dedicated for mid density residential, surrounded by low density housings and commercial area, like offices and retails.
Total Area = +/-2500 m2; BCR = 60% ; GFA = 2.4. DESIGN PROBLEMS
U
Since the site is elongated to North and South, to optimize the land use the building shall be oriented to face the West direction which has high Solar Factor in Indonesia. In rainy season, there is a possibility that the area getting flood. Additionally, a river is sat in front of the site. Thus, water management issues must be addressed properly to mitigate the condition.
1 LOCATION
The targeted residents for this public housing are single people and couple without kids. Therefore, compact unit size shall be considered.

MAIN CONCEPT The main idea of this residential block is to create a shaded space that is comfortable to live in. 30% of the built area is used as green open shared space to let the rainwater being absorbed. To reduce the heat transferred in building, the opening facing West direction is minimized and recessed to gain horizontal shading. Additionally, a tree is planted at the West side of opening to give shade in the corridor and provide extra oxygen .

UTILITY SYSTEMS The utilities for this housing are design as simple as possible to maintain the cost. Shafts and ceilings are utilized as spaces for the system. A utility room is dedicated at level 1 as the central of maintenance. The grey water from the housing is treated internally to be reuse to flush the toilets. Furthermore, rainwater catcher is provided to decrease the water running out from the housing complex.

2017 –AR4099 Final Design Integrated Living Design In Public Housing At Nyengseret, Bandung
BAKGROUND DESIGN Urbanization increases the demand of affordable housing in Bandung. Many slums area created due to the land price is so high. Thence, Bandung government plan to collaborate with private sector creating new scheme for affordable housing provision in Bandung. The new scheme is known as Apartement Rakyat. SITE ANALYSIS The site is located at Nyengseret, Bandung. This area is surrounded by commercial development. The existing site is defined by the river. The site has two kind of land use, for commercial and high-density residentials. Moreover, there are a traditional market and slum housings on the site. Thus, places for the existing seller must be considered during design.
DESIGN PROBLEMS There are three kind of issues I must consider due to the site and project characteristics: 1. Issues regarding the building function
- Integration in building function, since there are two kind of land use purpose within one site. - Integration of systems in the building 2. Issues regarding the site Tropical climate condition will affect the façade design, especially the opening
3. Issues regarding the response to surrounding area
Integration in Building
Integration within Site
Integration to Surrounding Area
MAIN CONCEPT The main concept for the proposed design is integrated living, to solve the three main design problems. Integrated living is consisted of three pillars: 1. Integration in building, this will focus on how the design can maintain a simple utility system to achieve the safety and security as required. 2. Integration within site, it is recommended to have direct access between public housing and the commercial building. In response to the local climate, the building is designed with void to support the natural ventilation inside. 3. Integration to surrounding area, the existing connectivity between the site and surrounding area will be enhance by providing proper connection for the people

Sayembara Mockup Kawasan Perumahan Berbasis Lingkungan Housing Planning and Design Based on Ecological Approach BACKGROUND DESIGN Department of Environmental Engineering, Diponegoro University opened a competition to build a housing area mockup based on ecological approach for a multi disciplinary team. My team was consisted of two environmental engineering students, two urban and regional planning students, and me, an architecture students. My contribution was to help designing affordable vertical housing, horizontal housing, and the layout of facility area. We won as the first runner up

VERTICAL HOUSING (UNIT 48)
The site was fictional, but we projected the location as if it is in Bandung. Therefore, the weather condition to follow. Natural ventilation is the main feature in our housing design.
VERTICAL HOUSING (UNIT 36)
Since it is a large project good facility must be provided within the area according to the size of development.

Architecture Studio V Urban Stream in Mixed-Use Living BAKGROUND DESIGN AR4090 was the last studio before the final project. In this architecture studio we were focused on developing complex building. The second assignment of this studio is to design multipurpose building. The main purpose of this studio is to learn how to do zoning for mixed-use building to avoid unwanted interaction or interruption in our daily activities. Thence, clear zoning area is necessary to decide the level of security or surveillance needed. Since this design responding to the larger scale, such us urban context. Connectivity is another issue that must be addressed properly to create a lively neighborhood. Further, to connect urban tissue and create good urban network within the area.

Building Material & Construction Studio II Wide Span Building Design BAKGROUND DESIGN In the second studio of building material and construction, AR3120. I learned about the wide span and highrise building design structure principle. Further, I also briefly learned about façade system and façade materials. This project was assigned to a group. My teammates is Erma Tsania. We work together understanding the basic design and conceptualizing our vision.
