Together, we craft itineraries that inspire and transform, pushing the boundaries of exploration to offer wholly unique experiences led by the foremost experts on your destination.

Small Ships Built for Discovery

A World-Class Expedition Team

Our expedition ships were built for the thrill of discovery, their every element engineered to take travelers into the planet’s most remote places. These nimble vessels are equipped with exploration tools tailored to your destination, and with capacities that never exceed 148 guests, they ensure a more intimate, immersive experience amid our captivating surroundings. Certain destinations are best discovered aboard bespoke vessels that evoke the splendor of their historic ports of call. On select Caribbean and Mediterranean voyages, we charter Sea Cloud II, a beautiful masted tall ship that we reserve just for our travel groups.

Every member of your team—from the naturalists and expedition leaders to the crew working behind the scenes—is committed to ensuring you have an unforgettable experience. Many are veteran guides who have worked with us for decades. They, along with the special guest speakers and National Geographic Destination Experts who join select departures, give rich context to the landscapes and cultures we encounter.

Take Great Photos with the Pros

In-Depth Undersea Program

A Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic certified photo instructor (CPI) travels aboard every voyage and a National Geographic Photography Expert joins select departures. These pros are available to assist travelers with everything from camera settings to composition. On select ships, travelers also have access to a complimentary OM System Photo Gear Locker that allows you to test new lenses, camera bodies, and more.

Explore Your Way Every Day

Itineraries feature a range of immersive activities that bring you into the pages of National Geographic. Snorkel with curious sea lions in Galápagos, kayak beside glittering Antarctic icebergs, or embark on a marine safari in Baja California in search of six whale species. Each expedition offers excursions for every skill level so that you can explore your way—and at your own pace—every day.

An undersea specialist accompanies most voyages as part of our in-depth undersea program. They bring your destination's marine wonders to the surface, capturing underwater footage in places from Alaska to Antarctica and beyond. Images are shared during nightly recaps in the comfort of the ship’s lounge, where our specialist interprets sea creatures and geological features, offering insights that are integral to the story of your destination.

Our Latest Adventures

The Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic approach to exploration marries innovation and cultivation; we are constantly seeking out fresh destinations while also perfecting our most popular itineraries. With the recent addition of 17 itineraries to our portfolio, the upcoming travel seasons are brimming with new opportunities for exploration. Each compelling voyage was thoughtfully crafted to inspire awe and give you a fresh perspective on an endlessly captivating world.

New Additions to the Galápagos Fleet

Together, these four exceptional vessels offer a full spectrum of travel options, whether you wish to voyage solo or with family—or charter an entire ship for a private experience.

New Expeditions for 2025–2027

Polar Adventures

Beginning in 2026, the polar fleet is embarking on a series of thrilling new voyages, including a journey to southern Greenland and an epic 25-day exploration of the Southern Ocean that includes Patagonia, the Falklands, South Georgia, and Antarctica. We’ll also launch a voyage in Antarctica that pursues the rarely seen wilds south of the Antarctic Circle.

European Expeditions

Set your sights on Europe’s wild northerly shores with a trio of new voyages across the North and Baltic Seas and two expeditions in Scotland that will journey to remote isles, such as the Shetlands and the Orkneys.

Close to Home

The beautiful tall ship Sea Cloud II sails to secluded corners of the Caribbean on a pair of voyages with new island offerings, from Anguilla to the British Virgin Islands and beyond. On the mainland, join a new voyage to Panama, or embark on an encompassing exploration of the Gulf of California. We’ll also take our first-ever journey along Canada’s St. Lawrence Seaway and offer a new Alaska voyage that sails round-trip from Juneau to Juneau.

Our Latest Collaboration with Food & Wine

Following the success of our inaugural journey with Food & Wine in the Pacific Northwest, we will once again team up with the iconic culinary brand in 2025 to highlight the best regional wines found on Mediterranean journeys aboard National Geographic Orion. On five new expeditions, delve into the sustainable food and wine customs that are central to the region’s rich culinary culture. Onboard wine lists are personally curated by Food & Wine magazine’s Executive Wine Editor, Ray Isle.

Staff Picks

Each of our new voyages is packed with special experiences, including many adventures that have been in the works for years. We recently asked members of the expedition development team which itineraries they’re most excited to reveal to guests. Here are a few of their favorites.

Discover French Acadian Culture

Sailing the St. Lawrence Seaway & Canadian Maritimes journeys to Îles de la Madeleine, a cluster of wispy islands with miles of windswept dunes, grassy hills, and bright-red sandstone cliffs. Local experts guide us across this sculpted landscape, with stops in colorful fishing villages to learn about the rich traditions of French Acadian culture.

An Epic Antarctica Voyage

On a Quest for the Antarctic Circle , spend nine days on the continent—several days longer than any of our other Antarctic voyages. With the extra time, we attempt the pinnacle of expeditionary travel, pushing south into rarely visited waters.

Seek Out the New King of the Arctic

On Southeast Greenland: Exploring at the Edge of the Ice Cap, skirt fjord-carved coastlines, on the lookout for the region’s newly studied polar bear population. The bears are genetically distinct from others found in the Arctic and the Denmark Strait, and are thought to have adaptations to the area’s warming climate.

Meet Faroese Farmers and Seafarers

Drawing from Viking conquerors and myriad explorers, a unique culture has taken shape in the Faroe Islands throughout the centuries. On North Atlantic Wonders: Iceland, Scotland & the Faroes, enjoy the special opportunity to visit picturesque Faroese villages to learn firsthand about rich local traditions, like sheep farming and chain dancing.

The Ultimate Island-Hopping Adventure

Sail the Caribbean aboard the elegant handsailed ship Sea Cloud II on a pair of new itineraries: Antigua to the BVIs: Hidden Cays & Azure Seas and Sailing St. Lucia, Dominica & Beyond. Feel the thrill of traveling from one island to the next under billowing sail, and go ashore to explore vibrant villages, turquoise coves, and thick rainforests.

Dive Into the World’s Aquarium

Our most encompassing journey through “the world’s aquarium” is found on Baja California Discovery: Exploring Mexico’s Gulf of California, crafted after years of careful exploration by veteran naturalists. Explore during the region’s richest season, when you might spy whale sharks, blue-footed boobies, and up to six different species of whales.

The Polar Regions

For more than five decades, the Lindblad ExpeditionsNational Geographic fleet has been voyaging to the polar regions, bringing adventurous travelers deep into the icy wilds of the Arctic and Antarctica.

Year after year, the Lindblad captains and expedition teams work diligently to better understand these otherworldly realms, looking for new ice fields and wildlife colonies, mapping safe routes and anchorages, and expanding our boundaries for exploration with the aid of capable ice-class ships.

The newest expeditions in our polar portfolio showcase the very best of our recent discoveries in these remote regions. In the Chilean fjords, we navigate narrow inlets into hidden coves encircled by glaciers, and in southeast Greenland, the ships sail in search of a newly identified resident polar bear population. On one of the most comprehensive Antarctica itinerary we’ve ever designed, travelers will spend nine days exploring the continent, pushing further south into rarely visited territory in pursuit of the Antarctic Circle.

Whether you’ve been to the polar regions once, twice, a dozen times, or more, there is always something new to discover at the top and bottom of the globe.
