A MESSAGE FROM DR. JERI RICKETTS Thank You We have some exciting news! As the pictures you’re seeing here show, the
Leadership Legacy Event was a huge success. Parents, donors and alumni - 500 of them - came to support Lindner Honors-PLUS and build an endowment to ensure that LHP would have the funds needed to hire quality leadership for years to come. Many more contributed to the endowment, although they were unable to attend. The exciting news is that Joe and Lorraine Mayernik, and Lou and Joanie Lauch, have offered to host another event for LHP in the fall of 2019, if we can raise a total of $2,000,000 for the endowment by that time. The Leadership Legacy Event raised nearly $750,000. We have a good start! Now it’s time to show that your support for LHP is not just a one time thing – it’s enduring. As this special edition of our newsletter shows, LHP is so much more than a full tuition scholarship. Yes, many of our students and alumni had other scholarship opportunities, but they chose LHP. Why? Because of LHP’s culture of excellence, the opportunities for working and traveling, and the life-long memories and relationships which are unique among business honors programs. LHP is a family, and you are one of us. Lindner Honors-PLUS exists because of the time and treasure of many generous people. Our original donors - for instance Mr. Lindner, Ray and Dottie Sheakley, Lou and Joanie Lauch, Dick and Cornie Thornburgh, Bob and Sandy Heimann, Bob Riley and Nancy Lorenzi - did not benefit personally from LHP, but believed in Norm Baker’s vision of building a world class business honors program at UC. Together they, along with many others, donated millions of dollars to create an endowment to launch LHP, from which we have all benefitted. We owe them our heartfelt gratitude.

He realized the potential and made the large investment necessary to get it started. Thank you Jeri for creating such a “positive” and “confident” atmosphere around our program plus your hard work and dedication. Thanks to the committee and our partners from the UC Foundation for your hard work on this wonderful celebration. Thank you to Joe and Lorraine for all your generosity to the program over the years. This Program exists because of the generosity of “donors”. LHP has been more successful than any of us expected. Yet to date, only 4% of our total gifts have come from our parents, students and alumni. We now have 500 sets of parents, 400 alums and 125 students, all of whom have benefitted from LHP. As we gear up to launch the next phase of our campaign to fund the $2.5 million LHP Director’s Endowment, we hope you will enthusiastically give your financial support, and your encouragement of your classmates and other parents to join in as well. You’ll be hearing from us soon!

UCATS has been renovated and re-branded to be “The Bearcats Party Deck” and one very exciting feature is that the glass has been removed to create more of an in-game atmosphere! Our three recruiting breakfasts at the Metropolitan Club this fall went great! We had a nice turnout of counselors from around the area and a lot of great students that we hope become future Bearcats!
