Campaigning and Advertisement Entrepreneurial Collaboration Illustrations Designing a Collection About Me and Resume
I was introduced to MailChimp.com during my internship with KoalaArtAndDesign.com. It is a site that can be utilized to contact customers with sales and current coupons. I was able to design, set up and send out a campaign. As well as using MailChimp.com to analyze how many people opened and clicked on the links in the email compared to how many were sent out. During my internship I developed knowledge of how important campaigning is, as well as how excited customers become when receiving campaigns in their email.

During my internship with KoalaArtandDesign.com I had the privilege of learning several skills such as: • • • • • • •

Jamie Koala, the owner, and designer behind the company, allowed me to run my own campaign, show me the importance of promoting your own company, as well as how much time and dedication does into a successful business. 3

^I helped with the process of taking these photos, touching them up and creating this image, to display an invisible panty line.
For this image of roses and filigree I used Adobe Illustrator. The tools I used were the pen tool, to create the filigree and roses as well as the feather brush to create the depth of the petals on the roses. I also used the pattern tool to create the repeat of the image. For the snake image I also used the pen tool to trace the original image to create the scales and eye.

For my designs I draw the garments by hand first. Then, I scan them into the computer open them up in Adobe Illustrator and, again use the pen tool to trace the images.
“Maratus Maratus is a collection inspired by a species of spiders called Maratus Volans, also known as peacock spiders. They get their nickname from the bright contrast of colors on their abdomens and when they shake their abdomen just like a peacock to attract a mate. These spiders although not harmful at all, look very dangerous which is where I drew my inspiration from. Each garment is inspired by the limbs and colors of the spiders as well as their appearance of danger. When someone sees these pieces I want them to feel like the wearer is a force to be reckoned with.

I discovered my desire for fashion design at an early age. My love for the industry truly started behind a sewing machine. From that point on it became nearly impossible to pull me away from one. When I was young I felt like I was not being challenged enough when it came to garment construction, therefore, I would look for difficult fabrics to work with and manipulate. Once people discovered career path, they began to tell about how they wish they could find more clothes that could fit them. I certainly understood where they were coming from and developed a desire for design a better quality fit for the average person, rather than the ideal person. My experiences as an intern for Koala Art and Design reinforced my desire to start my own company upon graduation. I want to launch my own website, which will feature my original designs in corsetry and lingerie. An interesting fact about me is I am not afraid to take risks, specifically when it comes to using different fabrics and aesthetics. To this day I am always looking for a new challenge, and I take them head on.
