Objective: Lungs and heart The support of the vital functions of critical patients is of top priority for intensive care units. Thanks to the set of unique functions of the Eleganza 3XC bed, hospital staff can more easily and frequently control and monitor the condition of two vitally important organs – the heart and lungs. In its special position the bed also supports respiration and heart activity.
CARDIAC CHAIR POSITION The position of the cardiac chair supports natural lung ventilation. Staff may comfortably adjust the position of the cardiac chair with a quick touch of a single button on the Supervisor control panel. The vital lung capacity increases and lung ventilation improves in the sitting position. The ErgoframeÂŽ kinematic system extends the mattress platform in the pelvic area. This minimises compression of the lungs when a patient is positioned in the cardiac chair position. This bed adjustment is also highly comfortable for the patient. The patient does not have to leave the bed to sit up and perform ordinary activities such as taking meals.
C-ARM COMPATIBILITY The Eleganza 3XC bed the performance of certain C-arm assisted cardiosurgical operations directly in the bed. Such procedures include the introduction of temporary intracardiac cardiostimulation, the insertion of catheters into the pulmonary artery for measuring hemodynamic parameters, intraaortic balloon conterpulsation (mechanical heart support) or control of the position of the catheters or electrode stimulation. C-arm assisted cardio surgical treatments are enabled due to the X-ray translucent mattress platform (from the pelvic area to top). Unrestricted accessibility of the C-arm is provided by the double column construction.

IN-BED X-RAY EXAMINATION X-ray examination of a critical patient is a daily routine in intensive care units. Frequent lung and chest X-ray monitoring can prevent life-threatening complications such as developed pneumonia or atelactasis. Thanks to the special features of the Eleganza 3XC bed, staff can perform vital diagnosis aided by an in-bed mobile X - ray device. Therefore the patient is not threatened by being moved from the bed to special X-ray tables. There is also no uncomfortable lifting of the patient in order to place the X-ray cassette under the patient’s back. The backrest of the Eleganza 3XC is translucent for X-rays and an X-ray holder for an X-ray cassette is fixed under it. The holder’s special sliding construction allows the cassette to be comfortably inserted beneath the mattress platform from the side of the bed.

UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO THE PATIENT’S THORAX Inserting the central venous lines demands unlimited but also safe access to the patient’s thorax. This is possible due to the suitable siderails concept. The head section of the siderail enables an easy release and quick access, while the central section protects the patient against a fall. The fixed head end is a practical aid for such procedures as a tracheostomy or other procedures performed on the top half of the patient’s body. If the mattress platform is set at the highest possible height, the upper edge of the head end creates a natural and firm support for the nurse’s arm.

Objective: Fall prevention The unique siderail system of the Eleganza 3XC creates a safe area on the bed. The siderails allow staff to select such a setting that corresponds to the individual medical condition of individual patients.
INDIVIDUAL PROTECTION The siderail system of the Eleganza 3XC consists of three sections – the head siderail, central siderail and the optional Eleganza Protector® siderail allocated at the foot end of the bed. So staff can use the system components variably based on the rate of risk of a fall of individual patients. If the patient is assessed as being high risk in sustaining a fall, the nurse may apply the siderail along the entire length of the mattress platform. In such a case the bed can be equipped with the Eleganza Protector® used to protect confused patients from exiting the bed.

The Eleganza Protector® provides a protective barrier all around the mattress platform. This prevent falls above all if a confused or otherwise risk patient wants to wilfully leave the bed wilfully.
Siderails without the Eleganza Protector® mean a standard level of protection for most patients.
The siderails of the Eleganza 3XC bed fully meet the latest safety trends and drafts of the latest legislative ative requirements. The proposed standards also tighten the requirements for the maximum reduction of the risks of such dangerous situations as entrapment of the patient’s head or neck being wedged, or a recumbent patient’s limb being wedged.
Good access to the patient for nursing, and chest, abdominal and pelvic, procedures is ensured by lowering the central part of the siderails.

IMPORTANT DETAILS
The simple collapsible mechanism allows the siderails to be adjusted quickly and comfortably either raised or lowered.

Objective: Pressure ulcers LINET devotes extraordinary attention to the problem of pressure ulcers. It has developed an integrated system of features which involves not only the function of the bed for easier prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, but also offers its own active mattress with above standard parameters for pressure ulcer prevention.
The patient’s head leans comfortably throughout the positioning against the mattress and does not go beyond the edge of the backrest even when it is in the highest position. The reason is that the backrest is of sufficient length in connection with Ergoframe® by the kinematics of the backrest.
ERGOFRAME® The mattress platform of the Eleganza 3XC bed is equipped with a system Ergoframe® that extends the pelvic area and reduces the tissue pressure load on this body part. Up to 40% of pressure ulcers develop just in this sensitive area. Another cause of pressure ulcers is a friction and tension of the skin. The Ergoframe® system also reduces friction between the mattress and patient’s skin in the back and shoulder blade area, which reduces the risk of the formation of pressure ulcers.

VIRTUOSO ACTIVE MATTRESS An important weapon in the fight against pressure ulcers and their prevention are active mattresses. The Virtuoso, which LINET has developed and produces, is one of the top pressure relieving mattresses. It is designed for acute and long-term recumbent patients and allows effective prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. The parameters and function of the Virtuoso mattress were selected based on a series of clinical studies which preceded the development of the product. The Ergoframe® system increases the space in the pelvic and abdominal area. This reduces pressure on body tissue and organs in all areas.
PASSIVE ERGOMAT MATTRESS The LINET range of products also includes high quality mattresses designed for patients who are less at risk. The dimension of the mattress is set so it reaches over the edge of the mattress platform and provides the patient with pleasant support when exiting the bed or sitting up on the bed. The mattress core consists of viscoelastic foam. The washable mattress cover is flexible on both sides

The inflation cycle of various parts of the mattress is repeated every 7.5 minutes and operates around the clock 24 hours a day. Objective: Recovery ACTIVE MOBILISATION The construction of the Eleganza 3XC bed offers a full system of features for facilitating patient mobilisation in the safest and most effective way. The bed’s mobilisation features are a great time-saver of the work of nurses and physiotherapists.
MOBI-LIFT® SYSTEM The Mobi-Lift® mobilising handles integrated into the bed’s mattress platform act as a stable support for the patient when exiting and entering the bed. With the MobiLift® support handles the patient gains a certain security and loses the fear of sustaining a fall. A simple bed height adjustment button is integrated into the Mobi-Lift® support handles. This function is used by the patient sitting on the edge of the bed. The rehabilitation nurse or physiotherapist assists the patient’s mobilisation of course but their assistance is be reduced
to necessary (safe) minimum due to the mobilisation aids of the Eleganza 3XC bed. The Mobi-Lift® handles take over a great part of their physical work and motivate the patients to become active during mobilisation. INFECTION CONTROL The core of effective nosocomial infection prevention is perfect hygiene and the disinfection of all surfaces in a ward and the bed itself. The easy decontamination of the Eleganza 3XC bed is guaranteed by its simple construction and the use of joint-free technology. The foundation of easy hygiene is the bed’s column construction. The columns consist of
IN-BED SCALES Eleganza 3XC beds can be equipped with integrated scales which can weigh the patient without inappropriate and risky transfer of the patient from the bed. The Eleganza 3XC weighing system measures the absolute values of the patient’s body mass (without the effect of the bed) and detects any changes in the patient’s body mass independently of the bed’s position. A useful function “freezes” the patient’s body mass when adding or removing objects from the mattress platform without affecting the weighed value (changing bed sheets and dressings of the patient, changing the infusion solutions, adding or removing any accessories). The integrated scales contain a memory for storing 10 weighed absolute values.

Controls system The set of controls allows nurses to handle the Eleganza 3XC bed effectively and ergonomically. The patient can control some functions which contribute to their independence and good physical welfare. All the controls are equipped with an above standard safety lock against accidental release.
CONTROLS GO BUTTON The safety GO button protects the patient against injury from accidental bed movement. The GO button activates the bed controls for 3 minutes. In unguarded moments the controls are inactive and the bed cannot be accidentally activated.
HAND CONTROL The practical patient and nurse control contains the basic bed positions including the backrest tilt and mattress platform height adjustment.
SIDERAIL CONTROL The control is located in the siderail so it is easily accessible to the patient and adjusts the bed to its basic position.
SUPERVISOR PANEL The Supervisor panel is ergonomically shaped and its clear graphic design is user-friendly. It contains a number of functions including 5-position memory — CPR, Trendelenburg, cardiac armchair, mobilising position, examination position.
