I declare that all material in this assesment is my own work except where there is clear acknowledgement and appropriate reference to the work of others STUDENT NAME: Aline Kammer Bevilaqua STUDENT ID: 14484708

BOWL - OVERVIEW I’ve chosen this artifact since it has a simple shape. I didn’t have experience on Maya so I tought it would be easier to start with a simple form. I have used a very bad photograph that I took at Nottingham Museum. Fortunately, I think the object is quite similar to the one on the museum, except for the flowers stamp, that I had to create to fullfill the other side. I learned the very basics of Maya with this object. It was great.

BOWL - MODEL WIREFRAMES/ UV MAPS & SHADERS

I used a simple Lambert material on this object, since it was the first time I’ve used Maya. I mapped the object using cilindrical map and then applied the original stamp to it. For lightening, I used three light sources with the intention of highlight the three dimensions of the object.

DOMINO BOX - OVERVIEW I’ve chosen this artifact since it has a nice history. It is a domino box that was build by a prisoner in France, using animal bones. I have used a very bad photograph that I took at Nottingham Museum. Fortunately, I think the object is quite similar to the one on the museum, except for the top of the box, that I couldn’t manage to make the cuts and UV map, so I’ve just made the cuts I learned the importance of the way you model the object, since it will influence the UV map

DOMINO BOX - MODEL WIREFRAMES/ UV MAPS & SHADERS

I used a simple Lambert material on this object, because it seemed to be most similar to the original. I mapped the object using planar map and then applied the original stamp to it, except on the top, that had it’s geometry harmed by the cuts I’ve made using projection. For lightening, I used three light sources with the intention of highlight the three dimensions of the object.

TELEPHONE - OVERVIEW I’ve chosen this telephone because the cake spatula I’ve chosen before was from a very advanced level and I couldn’t make it. I have used a photograph that I found looking into google.com. It’s a PNG, and I could see almost every side of the object. I learned a lot about UV mapping, lights, shadows and materials doing this object.
