Thor Magnusson www.thorpix.com Thor Magnusson has decades of photographic experience. One of his first assignments was the Icelandic Heimaey volcanic eruption for the Sunday Times. His photographs were the first available internationally distributed all over the world through Camera Press in London. After completing a diploma in fashion and advertising photography from the UK Medway College of Art and Design Thor ran photographic studios for many years. He then branched into other business ventures and later humanitarian work. Thor founded the Peace 2000 Institute in Reykjavik that has received awards for its humanitarian flights into war torn areas. Thor was awarded the Holy Gold Cross of the Greek Orthodox Church at the nomination of UNESCO. Thor (in Icelandic ﾃ《tﾃｾﾃｳr) is a well known activist in Iceland. As a candidate in the Icelandic Presidential Elections, wants Iceland and its President to take on a new role as a beacon for world peace. Thor has written a widely distributed book in Iceland, hundreds of newspaper articles and been interviewed in all main stream media in the country several times. His photographs have been exhibited in Reykjavik and in London. Thor has published a photographic book, Iceland Inside, that is available through most bookshops in Iceland and on Amazon.com. Barbara Weber: Talented, Passionate and Truly Original Barbara was born in 1952, in Dusseldorf, Germany, the capital for luxury goods. When she started sewing and designing clothes at the age of ten she realised that she had found her passion - fashion. Aged 18, she followed in her mother’s footsteps studying fashion at Dusseldorf University and later continued her studies in France. During her time at Dusseldorf Barbara was called upon to provide outfits for several UNESCO gala events, and whilst wearing one of Barbara’s creations, renowned Professor Ute Henrietta Ohoven was named “the best dressed woman in the world”. By the 1980 Barbara had established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the fashion world. In 1995, Francois Poncet, asked her to design Dior’s collection for the German market but unfortunately she declined in order to concentrate on her five stores spread across Dusseldorf, Cologne and Krefeld. In high demand, her prêt a porter and haute couture designs have adorned some of the world’s most famous women including German nobility, theatre and film actresses including Gina Lollibrigida and Yolande Dujardin. Her collections were stocked in more than two hundred and fifty shops around the world. Barbara was listed in the 1993 edition of “Who is Who in European business and industry”. Then In 1996, German fashion magazine “Die Zwei” identified Barbara, along with only five other designers, Armani, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino and Lagerfeld, as the “best designers in the world who dress the most elegant women in world”. In the late 1990s Barbara relocated to Marbella to run a successful atelier and an interior design shop ‘Bellissima’ in Puerto Banús. Her reputation and cheerful disposition have ensured her talents are in constant demand. Alongside business commitments she founded the ‘International Marbella Arts Charity’ (IMAC) and set about organising charity galas to raise money for good causes, in particular four children’s charities.
In 2011 Barbara’s life changed when she met and fell head over heels in love with her future husband, famous American-German experimental artist Joe Stern, whose work is currently exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in Madrid. From that moment on, her career started to take a different path. Like minded, artistic, individual and extremely talented, Barbara and Joe decided to work together on all future projects. As a newly married couple, Barbara and Joe plan to split their time between homes in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Marbella and the South of France, but will spend the majority of their time in San Francisco, where they will launch their first joint collection of unique haute couture shirts under the name of B & J Stern, aimed at the gay market. Although busy organising the latest chapter in her life, business and the imminent wedding, the future Mrs Weber-Stern, still manages to find the time to indulge her passion for art and culture.

JOE STERN
Dr. Joe Stern MD Joe, born in the USA of American and German descent, spent his formative years on a US army base in Frankfurt, Germany, before relocating to his home town of Santa Monica in sunny California. After studying medicine at the universities of Heidelberg (Germany) and Berkeley (USA), Joe joined the marines as a medical doctor and was stationed in Iraq until he was discharged with a gunshot wound - an experience that would prove to be a major turning point in his life. Upon arriving home, it became clear that medicine no longer held the same appeal and that he needed an outlet to express his feelings of rage at the horrors he witnessed during the war, which eventually lead to his long standing and successful career as an artist. Joe was originally drawn to the Spain to be closer to his terminally ill brother, already a permanent resident on the Costa del Sol. As a sun loving Californian, it was inevitable that Joe would enjoy the laid back cosmopolitan lifestyle of Marbella. Working from a studio in San Pedro de Alcantara, Joe creates highly personal art which could be described as impressionistic surrealism without any defined lines. His works range from three dimensional wall art to decoratively adorned dress makers’ dummies which were recently used in Chanel’s recent catwalk show. High profile fans include John Travolta and Nicholas Cage who purchased paintings from Joe’s original studio in Santa Monica. In 2011, Joe met, fell in love and proposed to acclaimed German fashion designer and Marbella resident, Barbara Weber Lichtenberg. He credits Barbara with raising his spirits and bringing him to a point where is happy with his life. With a desire to help others, as Barbara has helped him, Joe donates time and money to various charities; running workshops for handicapped children in Marbella, where they can learn to paint on one of his works, and he actively supports charities that work with ex-service men and women in the USA. In 2013, Joe was approached by under graduate students from Madrid University and having recently accepted his invitation, they are currently working alongside him in his Marbella studio. Joe and Barbara’s latest project sees them put their considerable talents to use, as they join forces and set about creating a unique brand of art and fashion in Marbella. They also have their sights set on opening a brand studio in the South of France on the Côte d’Azur. However, as a Californian at heart, Joe doesn’t rule out sweeping his bride to be off her feet and heading back west to make an impact stateside.
