Exhibitions & Visual Arts Healey Dell Gallery – Artwork by Phyllis Hargreaves Organised by Healey Dell Gallery

Phyllis has lived in the area for many years and finds inspiration in the quiet surrounding of the Healey Dell Nature Reserve. Inside the Gallery you will find a range of work created by Phyllis from sculptures in plaster and metal; mosaics, and paintings in oil, water and pastel. Healey Dell is one of Rochdale’s hidden gems. An area of outstanding beauty that has been officially designated a Nature Reserve and is rich in industrial archaeology. It is here you will find the Gallery, tucked away in this beautiful quiet location amongst the nature and wildlife Healey Dell has to offer. The Nature Reserve is just two miles away from Rochdale town centre and was once the site of corn, wool and cotton mills – all powered by the spectacular waterfalls of the River Spodden. All artwork is available to purchase and is a welcome gift whatever the occasion.

A Common Ground: Ikuko Iwamoto, Junko Mori & Kayo Saito Organised by Touchstones Rochdale

A Common Ground brings together the work of three UK-based, Japanese-born artists who have a shared interest in the natural world as a source of inspiration for their work. Ikuko Iwamoto makes tableware and sculptural ceramics based on the repetitive patterns such as those seen through a microscope. Junko Mori’s metalwork consists of multiples of individually forged steel, with her observations of tree and plant matter the driving force behind her sculptures. Kayo Saito’s jewellery is influenced by the plants and organic forms, whose apparent fragility, structure and vital energy stimulate her creativity. The Contemporary Forward programme is supported by Arts Council England. Venue: Touchstones Rochdale, The Esplanade, Rochdale OL16 1AQ Time: Tues-Sat 10am-5pm. Booking/enquiries: 01706 924492
