HELLO, HI, WELCOME Welcome to the Touchstones Spring/Summer Guide for Families. Our programme of events and activities are perfect for children and families of all ages, offering everything from studio theatre to creative craft sessions inspired by our exhibitions. Starting with our Tiny Touchstones programme providing the perfect sensory adventure for babies and toddlers introducing them to a life filled with arts, right through to our Make Art! sessions led by professional artists, ideal for older children who want to get creative. When its school time and there is work to be done, our homework club is just the job for some quiet space to finish that project and make the grade. We don’t forget the holidays either with activities during half term and, of course, the all-important summer break. While you’re here you can also sample the delights of our Art Café for a tasty treat before or after your chosen activity. We also have male and female baby changing facilities available and are breast feeding friendly.

Our Tiny Touchstones scheme is the perfect introduction to the arts for the smaller people in your family. With sessions priced at just £2 and activities happening every week, we invite you to come and explore the world of creativity plus meet other parents/carers in your area.
An active session for toddlers and their parents focusing on a different art form each week to explore, create and build adventures together.

Saturday 24 June | 2pm & 4pm
A beautifully gentle story of friendship, power struggles and the rich world of creative play. We meet two characters who play together – exploring new space, new objects, dressing up and taking turns – but struggles arise when one of them wants to be the ONLY captain of the ship! One Little World captivates children’s imaginations with a moving story underscored with original music and told with just ONE spoken word.

Join our artist led drop in workshops to make crafty creations inspired by the Art Gallery exhibitions. Sessions run the last Saturday of each month with additional workshops in the school holidays.
HOMEWORK CLUB

Every Wednesday 3.30-4.45pm and Saturday 1-4.45pm Got a project to finish? Need a picture printing out? Come along to our homework club in the Local History Centre and you can do just that. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.

To tie in with our current exhibition, Ancient Egypt: Life along the River Nile, we’re putting a fun day of themed creative workshops perfect for all the family.
SUMMER FUN

Our Summer Fun programme starts on Tuesday 25 July with sessions running every week for children aged between 5 and 14 priced at just £4 (accompanying adults go free). This year we have an Egyptian theme linked to the exhibition in our Heritage Gallery and will be taking inspiration from the objects on display.
